Mat 7:13-14, “Enter in through the narrow gate! Because the gate is wide – and the way is broad – that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in through it. Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

a. The Narrow Path is believeing in Yahshua/Jesus and what He did.

b. The Narrow Path is doing what Yahshua/Jesus taught.

c. The Narrow Path is believeing in Him and doing what He taught.

d .Other (please explain)

The answer I believe would be A, B and C. Jesus truly is the narrow path, and being focused on Him is extremely in this walk of life with the Old man.....but the Spirit is always seeking Him and always draws me to Him, no matter what mistakes I make, no matter where I am, Jesus truly is that narrow path.

A person could not do ANYTHING In their own strength that GOD would accept so then Its Grace through FAITH that a person will enter In

I agree with MichaelOwen - it's A, B and C and also, being lead daily by the Holy Spirit. Stay out of the "flesh/carnal" nature, but maturing in Christ. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Follow the Spirit and stay on the Narrow Path.

Many are called, FEW chosen. Narrow is the path, but FEW find it.

I believe this is saying that the wide gate is doing what we think is needed to be saved like not sinning and following the teachings of Jesus. Those are great and noble aspirations but they can not save us. Only faith in Jesus and what He accomplished at the cross saves us. The hardest thing for many of us is to trust our salvation to another, even if that other is Jesus. We can never not sin enough or do enough good works to save ourselves or remain saved. Only Jesus saves.

I have also found that trying not to sin is not an effective way to change, rather I change when I allow God to change me. Good works and obedience are fruits of the Spirit not a pathway to salvation.

The "narrow path" is being motivated by God's spirit rather than the spirit of the world. Easy to say or claim, not so easy to do or even differentiate for many.

Thank you for the replies, I personally go with "c. The Narrow Path is believeing in Him and doing what He taught."

Also I would like to hear more views on thius matter, as this seems to be an important issuse since Yahshua/Jesus says "Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

"Difficult is the way that many will be eliminated" that leads to eternal hellfire. Why? Remember the gate is Jesus (John 10:1).

“Thy Word is a lamp onto my feet and a light onto my path.” The doctrine of Christ is the narrow road. False religions that mix truth with lies widen the road, giving you more leadway. Christ’s way is specific, man’s way is lenient.

“They worship Me in vain
(not leading to salvation) for their doctrine is merely human rules.”

I think, at first, it's kind of a trick question believing in Y-shua then the question about Him, but so many don't believe Y-shua is G-d, so if that was your reference I get it. What is SAD IS THE MAJORITY of PEOPLE DON'T KNOW Y-SHUA IS G-D!!!!!

I enjoyed this reply very meuch.

If Yahshua/Jesus is the door:

John 10:9, “I am the door. Whoever enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and find pasture.”

door” is word #2374 - thura: a door
Original Word: θύρα, ας, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: thura
Phonetic Spelling: (thoo'-rah)
Short Definition: a door, opportunity
Definition: (a) a door, (b) met: an opportunity.

And we must enter through Him to be saved, then this would show the "path/gate" or "narrow path/gate" is something different than the door; I believe the gate/path ould be His teachings, what you walk after entering the door, or to get to the door however one looks at it.

Mat 7:13-14, “Enter in through the narrow gate! Because the gate is wide – and the way is broad – that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in through it. Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

gate” is word # 4439 - pulé: a gate
Original Word: πύλη, ης, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: pulé
Phonetic Spelling: (poo'-lay)
Short Definition: a door, gate
Definition: a gate.

I think what He taught agrees with this .

Mat 7:24-27, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does them, shall be like a wise man who built his house on the rock, and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not do them, shall be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand, and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and great was its fall.”

John/Yahanan 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

the 'narrow-path' is the one where we leave our old selves behind and follow our Saviour...
