Hey.. I'm just wondering- where are you meeting other sisters and brothers in Christ...? I'm so confused of so many churches here, I know most of them is not preaching the Truth so I'm not going there. Are you attending any church or just keeping and living Christian faith by yourselves?

Yes, you will have to be discerning. Do a google search for churches within a specified distance from your home and then check out their beliefs on their official websites. If you are unsure you can generally phone or email the pastor and ask specific questions ie. their stance on certain issues should revel if their teaching adheres to God's word. Try visiting a different church each Sunday until you find your spiritual home. Then PRAY about it and God will lead you to the right church - there is no timetable and remember no church is perfect because they are run by imperfect people.

Ummm alright,
Many have a lot against Methodists.
I do not believe some that they teach but they are really very lovely people.
I typically stick with Nondenominational churches. But you can "test" multiple types

I started out by going to a Methodist church but felt it wasn't right for me also on checking out their beliefs I was uneasy that they appeared to condone abortion in certain circumstances.

You must pray about this - The Holy Spirit will ultimately lead you to the right church.

All good advice from the Parrot Woman, especially in bold.

Churches are just like Christians, all are different!

Few that preach the truth?
Strange.
I visited a LOT of churches while I lived there, and I found none that preached falsehood.
The only thing I though strange was one church that got a bit political concerning gay marriage

What does the Bible say about God's true church? Notice Revelation 12 and the description given. God compares a woman in the Bible to a church or nation. Check this chapter out and there you will find some guidelines that can help answer your question.

What part of the UK are you in? You don't have to say exactly where but it might
help to know if you are in London, Scotland, Yorkshire etc. There might be
someone from the same part who will see this and be able to make suggestions.

Well there is a lot of tension between denominational and non denominational churches. That is not likely to change anytime soon. The tried and true method of finding a good church to attend is to pray for the Lord to lead you to the church of His choosing. You likely will need to visit several churches before finding the one that Jesus has in mind for you and the family.

Doctrine is a very important factor in the church you attend. Don't rely on feelings but do your due diligence on the church and it's affiliations.

I attend church and am greatly blessed by it. I doubt there are any perfect churches.

In my city there are several bible believing denominations they all get
along, they all support each other in amazing work for God. Teen
Challenge, Street Angels, kids club, prison work, beech missions
to name a few.

I hear there are several cities reporting the same. Plus there is
definitely a growing revival in the UK. In my city at least 7 new
bible believing churches have sprung up in the last 4 years.

WWJD I think said it when
she said there were many churches preaching the truth
in the UK. There is not a lot now between the main stream
denominations.

It's just a matter of finding one which suit your needs and
personality so for example if someone is a young mum, then
they may want to find one with a good children's ministry and
mum groups etc.

Well..I live in England, Midlands. So far I tried to google some ministry type churches. I found Potters House looking good on website , but then I found many negative feedbacks of people who cimplained how they were brainwashed and then happy to leave this Cult. Woila! It's hard to trust when so many wolves are wandering around in sheep clothes..
My closest churches here are Latter Day Saints (mormons), Science of Soul, Christ Church( anybody knows more about this one??) and this Methodist church that I mentioned before. So..yes, it looks like the last may be the most acceptable option.
So hungry to speak somebody who knows Christ, ahhhhh :) in real world, not online only :/

Try doing searches for evangelical churches in the Midlands etc.

By the way I would not bother looking up reviews on the Internet as a test of what a
church is like. You have no way of knowing who has posted them and the motives behind it.

Go along for yourself and decide for yourself, maybe take a friend if you need a bit of
support.

Sorry I'm not in the Midlands myself. I did look up the Potters House churches and their
statement of faith looks biblically sound.

No Church of England churches? I think they should be fairly safe.

When I moved to Scotland I just walked about in town and looked for church buildings. I ended up talking to people outside one of them, which became my "main church" (Church of Scotland), but I occasionally visited two other churches (Methodist and Episcopal). Very different styles, but same message :)

Like Miri said, try to visit a few and see what they're like :)

My church is an independent Pentecostal but
affiiated with Elim. They have many great speakers,
we have had several guest speakers from them over
the years.
