...... telling us how we can sin all we want. NOT !

This is straight out of his book, Destined to Reign (Complete with page numbers so you can look it up for yourself.)
*****************************
“Pastor Prince, if believers know that there is now no condemnation for them, won’t they go out and sin?”
˄ Page-163 ˄

Well, it is obvious that Jesus did not think so. Do you remember what He said to the woman who was caught in adultery?

John 8:10–11
10When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “ Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

Now, pay close attention to this: Jesus gave her the gift of “no condemnation” before He told her to go and sin no more. Yet, the church today says, “Go and sin no more first, and only then will we not condemn you.” That’s the reason people are shying away from churches. It is not because they are rebelling against Jesus. It is because they have not been introduced to the Jesus who gives the guilty sinner the gift of no condemnation!

Too often, non-believers have only been introduced to Christianity as a set of rules that only judges and condemns them. If you conduct a poll among non-believers to find out what they know about Christianity, many of them would probably be familiar only with the Ten Commandments. They know only about the law that kills and not the Person who came to bring life!

But my friend, Christianity is not about laws. It is about Jesus and how He shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins, for without blood, the Bible says that there is no forgiveness of sins. (Heb.9:22) That is why Christianity is a relationship based on the shed blood of Jesus Christ. His blood washed away all our sins, and the laws that we were supposed to fulfill, He fulfilled on our
˄ Page-164 ˄

behalf. Even Jesus Himself came against legalism. His strongest words were said to the religious Pharisees and not the sinners. I challenge you to find any instance in the Bible where Jesus called tax collectors or prostitutes a “brood of vipers”!

Now, let’s come back to the story of the woman caught in adultery. Let me ask you a question: Was the woman guilty? Yes, she was, absolutely. There is no doubt about that. The Bible states that she was “caught in adultery, in the very act”. (John 8:4) But instead of condemning her according to the law of Moses, which required her to be stoned to death (the law of Moses always ministers condemnation and death, it cannot save the guilty sinner), Jesus showed her grace and gave her the gift of no condemnation.

Jesus believed that when someone really has a revelation that God does not condemn them, they would have the power to get out of the vicious circle of sin.

Do you think that the woman would go off, look for her lover, and jump back into bed with him after she had received the gift of no condemnation? No, of course not! It is obvious that Jesus believed that when someone really has a revelation that God does not condemn them, they would have the power to get out of the vicious circle of sin. They would have the power to “go and sin no more”!

What are you going to put your trust in today? Jesus’ grace which swallows up sin? Or man’s fears that believers would use “grace” as a license for them to sin?

Condemnation Perpetuates The Cycle Of Defeat
Let me tell you this: If you are under condemnation, you are
˄ Page-165 ˄

doomed to repeat your sin. Why? Because when you are under condemnation, you feel guilty and condemned, and you believe that fellowship with God is broken. And since you believe that God is far away, you will end up committing that sin again. You may do something good that makes you feel that you have restored fellowship with God, but when you fail again, you start receiving condemnation again, and the cycle of defeat continues.

Jesus’ method of countering sin is completely different. When you sin, He says to you, “Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more.” When you receive the gift of no condemnation from Him, you will know beyond any doubt that fellowship with God is never broken because the blood of Jesus continually cleanses you. Believing that you are the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus and simply receiving the gift of no condemnation give you the power to go and sin no more.

Do Not Back Away From Grace

“Pastor Prince, I know of someone who says that he is under grace, but is clearly living in sin. Can a person be under grace and still live in sin?”

My friend, do not back away from the gospel of grace just because you see some negative examples. Go to the person and confront him! If he says, “Well, I am under grace,” but still lives a lifestyle of sin, this is what I’ll say to him: “No, you are not under grace. The Bible says that sin shall not have dominion over you when you are not under law but under grace. (Rom.6:14) So if you are living in sin, you are definitely not under grace. You are not enjoying the gift of no condemnation and the free, unmerited
˄ Page-166 ˄

favor of God. That is why sin has dominion over you. You cannot claim to be under grace when you continue to live in sin!” Such people become agents that the devil uses to instill suspicion and fear against the gospel of grace. But our part is not to back away from the gospel that Jesus preached just because a very small group of people use grace as an excuse for their lifestyle of sin.

If someone has really known and experienced grace and the gift of no condemnation, he will NOT want to live in sin. Sin will be the last thing on his mind! Let me put it very clearly: Anyone who is living in sin is not under grace and has not experienced the gift of no condemnation. Grace always results in victory over sin!

Good word :).

I don't agree with everything JP preaches (he does have some WOF leanings (though not as far as some would lead us to believe), but he gets it 100% right on issues of Law/Grace and the Old and New Covenants. He also ties OT prophecy and shadows beautifully to the New Covenant Reality in Christ!

Thanks for posting this!

While much of what Prince teaches is perfectly fine, he's an admitted "word of faith" preacher.

Name-it-and-claim-it just isn't biblical.

Amen! Exactly what I was thinking Viotet!!! Haven't gone as far as raising my hands up in church yet (am working on that sort of demonstrative sort of thing) But I sure do that at home and out in the fields where I live. I'm one of those people Jesus told to go and sin no more and found the gift of no condemnation. Praise Jesus!! Grace is amazing.

Hey Willie-T Thanks for posting this. I suppose it takes complete chapter excerpts from the persons books to define clearly what is being said as apposed to knee jerk reactions from just the first words of a sentence someone speaks without further listening. Even on videos posted one must listen to "the rest of the story" Anyhow, thanks for posting this thread as it is a lesson to all of us to hear each other out before stamping the title "heretic" on one another.

Try it again. I have only ever heard him say he is a "Radical Grace Preacher." I certainly hope every single one of us is a believer in the word and in faith. I believe in what God demonstrated through the story of Joseph. Pull for God, and He will pull you forward. This promise was shown in the life of almost ever character in the Bible.

I give much credit and thanks to the Churches of Christ. I learned more Bible there than in two Seminaries..... but I do not follow their beliefs. And from what I have read of him, Hagin WAS a great man. Are you saying he wasn't worthy of being respected?

Sorry, I have listened to (and read) probably a little more of Prince than you have, and I have yet to hear him say anything like: you will get a Mercedes if you pray hard enough. In fact, with all the claims that fly around here, I can't recall anyone ever preaching that. I HAVE heard that God favors Believers. And I experience it all the time, but never the wild claims I hear some of you guys espousing. Maybe I just don't listen to those preachers as much as you guys do.

I've been on these forums for a while and also in the Bible study room and I've noticed what people are calling as if saying a swear word - word of faith - WOF - and what they say of WOF is not what I believe at all. I reminds me of the titles used for grace..hyper grace.... WOF.... name it claim it blab it grab it... prosperity gospel... all these tags or labels that are used do not apply to me yet because I am what I consider part of a word of faith fellowship many have condemned me as a heretic.

I surely understand what J. Prince is saying about standing on the shoulders of other believers. I was raised in a very legalistic fundamental Baptist church called the GARBC; General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. We were taught to study the Bible and memorize verses. To come to church when the doors were open and support one another.

We were taught Calvinism and the TULIP 5 Points of Calvinism. I MUST say I gained some major truth in that church as a member for 6 years. They are the people that showed me the Gospel for the first time. I got saved in that church and learned the differences between my Catholic upbringing verses what is in the Bible for acceptance before God. Jesus and John 3:16. We studied and learned as new born babes, we drank in the sincere milk of the Word.

But I also gained some major legalism too. We were taught not to associate with anyone who did not hold to the same Bible interpretation we held too. We were also taught to not associate with those believers who associated with those who did not hold to what we believed. That was called "secondary separation" Women were to wear dresses and not pants., not to work outside the home., KJB only and Scoifield bible in particular if possible. No Christian radio since they had preachers on there who were not GARBC. No Christian music unless it was worshipful like in our hymnals. Certainly not like Twila Paris or Maranatha music. (this was back in the 1990s) Much more I won't go into at this time.,

Needless to say we had to depart from that belief system because it was not Biblical in the way we had been hearing in our hearts. We learned how to read the Bible for ourselves even though it was really hard to buck the system of that church and leave.

We were scared out of our wits but did very slowly move on and leave that GARBC church with the help of CHRISTIAN RADIO and Chuck Swindoll, John MacGarther, Ravi Zachariahs., J.Vernon McGee., David Jerimiah., ... many more. Thank God for Christian radio and tv.

We were said to not have been one of the faithful remnant ., we were among them but not one of them. It was scary to leave that church and the comfort of being approved by our brothers and sisters in Christ. But as the years have gone by, I see how God used that church to show us how to stand on the Bible truth when challenged by the world. To this day I thank God for my roots in that legalistic church and I too stand on the shoulders of those good teachers even though they were not perfect. Neither am I and neither are any of us here.

Again, context is key in understanding the Bible and one another. That is why I believe God tells us not to judge one another so quickly and easily. Only He can judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

His book Destined to Reign, was released in July 2007, it contains teachings from the last ten years of preaching his gospel of grace. And one should take notice as to whom he credits in it. “I give thanks tor God for my roots in the Word of Faith teachings. It is truly on the shoulders of great men of God like Brother Kenneth E. Hagin that we are able to see further into the Word of God today. Growing up, I learned a lot about faith from Brother Hagin who truly had a special revelation of faith from the Lord. I deeply honor and respect him for all that he has taught me.” (Joseph Prince, Destined to Reign: The Secret to effortlesssuccess, wholeness and victorious living p.271)

3 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. note xref-1

36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Willie, any preacher who praises heretical Kenneth Hagin, is one to keep at arms length.
