DO DOGS GO TO HEAVEN?

I just had to put my dog of 15 yrs down last night and I am hoping that she is in Heaven. I have found bible verses that may support this thought or am I wishing thinking? My heart is broken and miss my dog so much.

About the question,I'm going to say no because animals don''t have souls...but that's just my thought though.

This is not my BASIS for my belief. I've believed they do for years. I just heard this a few weeks ago and I really like his perspective on it. Biblically there is no proof or promise, but anything is possible with such a loving God.

YES! Animals are a perfect example of unconditional love, they are God's creatures part of His universe and I have no doubts at all that I will be reunited with my dearly loved furry friends when I die. I am so very sorry to hear about your loss and I do sympathize with you and understand how much heartache you feel. I had two dogs and two cats they lived to be 14 years and 16 1/2 years and we lost them all in two years from old age. I still miss them every day. Anyone who is an animal lover will understand your question and everyone I know believes there is a special place in heaven for these beautiful creatures. Look up "The Rainbow Bridge" it's a beautiful tribute to our pets.

Mr Henry was very tough. 13, a Golden and a lovely , gentle boy we buried him by the side of a dry stone wall by 'his'' river, a oak planted to mark his spot.
Is he in heaven?? i do not know...nor do I dwell on this. My faith in God totally overwhelms such questions. My drive is for those still breathing...as Christ instructs me. I am more concerned about my teen daughter having no respect or knowledge of the Lord. Thats what concerns me....lets get our focus right?

I've not seen any evidence of animals having souls. Animals are sources of food, quite often. If God provided animals for us to eat, with souls, wouldn't that equate to murder to eat? And why would God give us something for food, if it was murder to kill it for food? And why were animal sacrifices required on a creature with a soul in the OT?
Animals are mentioned in heaven, but no evidence these are souls of dead animals.

Ugly, but there are animals that god forbid us to eat. Ergo not food. I'm not trying to invalidate your answer, but you have to cover all animals. As with sacrifices only certain animals were sacrificed.

Dogs are mentioned 40 times in the bible, and not once are they referred to as pets or domesticated animals. Cats aren't even mentioned in the bible at all. Dogs were considered beasts or used for work. Since pets aren't mentioned in scripture there is no evidence they go to Heaven.

Fear not, my fellow animal lover,
dogs go to a place called paradise.
Not heaven, but they are taken care of.
The bible wasn't written for dogs, that doesn't mean God doesn't care for them, or their attenuated(less than human) souls.
Honestly folks, you see the expanse of the universe, cannot you see the possibility for God to make a resting place for all of His creation?

I wonder if every creature means every creature, and how many creatures live in the sea.
I wonder why God would have them talk and praise him of they could be obliterated into nothingness.

I'd like to imagine that animals do in fact have some sort of resting place with God when they die. I always wondered even as a child if the reason we eat them & how we perceive them is simply because of mankind's sinful nature. Before the fall,I just don't see Adam sitting down for a steak dinner. (mind you I am not some hippie vegan) Just sayin'. Maybe animals do have a special place with the Lord...more than we understand or know.

The only dogs that go to heaven are Dachshunds. Well maybe German SHEPHERDS. Wolves? Nope. It's a sheep thing. Maybe Lassie. Definitely not all dogs: "Beware of dogs." See Philippians 3:2. Oh, some dogs might if they obey commands. If they "flea" the devil they have a very good chance. Then there's the cat problem. What to do then?

This made me laugh.

The thing about animals and heaven that's hard for me to grasp is which ones get to go? What about the animals that killed people? Mean-spirited animals? Animals that had no "owner"? Animals that people tend to not like?

While it's nice to think that they do, or that maybe the new earth will have other creatures of some sort, I am not sure how much we will care or remember once we are actually there. Despite how much I love my cats, I don't think I'll get to heaven and say, "Oh, Jesus is here! ...But where is Dakota??"

So sorry about your doggie! I wish our pets lived as long as we do because it IS heartbreaking when they die.

God loves these animals more than we do and we can trust Him to take care of them...in whatever capacity that is. I still hope we see them in heaven, but I have a feeling our eyes will be riveted on the Throne and we may not take much notice of anything else.

I thank God for leaving some animals unafraid of humans....'domesticated' critters. They're so much fun. A prayer I saw a while back- "God, help me to be as good as my dog thinks I am "
