Funny:LOL:, I'm not buttered on any side. I am saved by Grace through Faith. I heard the Gospel preached as a child, I responded to it and asked the Lord to come into my heart that night, and He saved me. Simple childlike Faith.

That is correct, v17 says "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth". Again read further (v20) to see where Jesus prays "I do not pray for these alone (the chosen 12), but also for those who will believe in Me (that's us) through their word". Jesus is not contradicting Himself. The rest...

This would be true if you stop reading in v9 of John 17, but please read further to see Jesus prays for the world to believe because of their preaching.
