No, that's not in Scripture anywhere. God does say that He gave over the nations to other beings, but never taught anyone to consider them "gods"; that was their doing, and by that they rebelled against Him. His judgment upon them is declared in Psalm 82.

It can mean that one's vision shows them in a different place (like a dream), or it can mean that the person is in a trance- or dream-like state where they are unresponsive to stimuli around them. I've experienced the latter and heard a firsthand testimony of the former.

Both are commended in Scripture. Jesus says to the Pharisees, “Have you not read the Scriptures?” Also, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word of God”. Neither is recommended above the other. :)
