Thanks. I had never heard of Gene Scott before I read his name on this thread.

    Basic Christianity.

Where in the bible do we read Jesus saying that? I recognise the part about the law - we read: ““Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil” (Mt 5:17 NKJV) But I don't recognise these words you say He said: "there is something wrong...

    Who Killed Jesus?

I would say rather, "False religion killed Jesus." Although the bible doers not call Christianity a religion, it does say: “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” (Jas 1:27 NKJV)

Why didn’t Jonah just jump off the boat?

But we are not told that Jonah died in the fish. Those verses are about unclean foods, not unclean political powers. Anyway, the word in Jonah for the creature that swallowed him means "big fish," not "whale." Fish do have fins and scales, so are not unclean. But none of those verses...

Why didn’t Jonah just jump off the boat?

If Jonah was dead in the big fish, how did he pray? What biblical reason do you have for your idea that the big fish is the unclean human political system? Where do you read that Jesus cried out to His Father from Hades? Where do you read that Jesus was placed in custody in the temple...

Ephesians 2 is not preaching faith alone.

However, if we look at Ephesians 2:10, we see that works are important, not in order to be saved, but as a result of having been saved: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Eph 2:10 NKJV)

Did it happen literally and physically?

Most of nature doesn't have a will at all, free or otherwise. How does a tree exercise its will? How does the moon decide that it wants to shine? How does the air decide that it wants to move, and make windy weather?

Did it happen literally and physically?

What do you mean, I wonder, by nature having free will? Surely you don't mean that the rain decides for itself when to fall, that the wind decides for itself when to blow, that a seed makes a conscious decision to germinate?

"Prayer" How did we get here?

I already have done: “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. Otherwise, if...

"Prayer" How did we get here?

But Paul writes of others being able to say "Amen" at the end of somebody's prayer. If they couldn't do that if it was spoken in an unknown language, how could they do it if they couldn't hear the prayer at all?

"Prayer" How did we get here?

How about this passage: “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. Otherwise...

    Who Killed Jesus?

No, but He did say that nobody takes it from Him: ““Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My...

    Going to Hell

““He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”” (Joh 3:36 NKJV) The verb "has" is present tense, not future.

    Going to Hell

I agree. Nowhere does the bible say that to avoid hell we have to believe that the earth is a certain shape, that the moon landings took place, that Antarctica is a continent, not a huge wall of ice surrounding the earth, etc.
