They've Taken Everything Away From Us!!! Single's Awareness Day Joy Is Officially Dead. 😭

Dang it--my pie pans are triangular. Better yet, though, butter tarts! Those I can do round.

    Best Foot Forward

That's a really interesting point! I think with the current online dating culture, we don't actually. Most people under 40 I know, didn't know each other well--online dating or blind dates.

They've Taken Everything Away From Us!!! Single's Awareness Day Joy Is Officially Dead. 😭

I was in Kroger Valentine's morning, and an employee was removing the bouquets--BEFORE 9AM! And you're right! I hadn't even noticed the sales were practically non-existent. $2 is not a sale... or maybe I'm cheap. Either way, I'm happy to not spend $15 when I can make something better at home...

What are people up to around you?

I've met SO many young men and women recently who are excited about reading the Bible and talking about Jesus. This is such a major shift I've noticed from even just 3 years ago. It's exciting and so different from the Christian community I grew up in. Have any of you noticed this in your...

    Study Suggestion Request

I am doing a Bible study about prayer with a group. Do you have any suggestions for study guides or books?

Do you believe in a long-distance relationship?

I definitely believe it can work for some people. I have a few siblings and friends that did long-distance (across different countries) that made it work and are now married. Personally, I can't see myself doing that, and I love seeing it work well for others!

    Looking for book suggestions

Thank you, David, for that specific book mention! I will be ordering that book next. Cinder, I'm looking for anything. Right now I'm finishing up C. S. Lewis' Mere Christianity and Wurmbrand's Tortured for Christ. I tend to jump around genres, though. Fiction/nonfiction, mystery...

ROOTED IN FAITH GROWING IN GRACE

Thank you for sharing this, Maggy3. This reminds me of something I heard on a podcast this last week: when I'm struggling through my wilderness feeling lost and alone, meeting other people in their own wildernesses can comfort me to not feel so lonely--and together we can create a sort of oasis...

    Only Americans?

This reminds me of a guy I met at work last month. It sounded like he was hopping between two other languages and English when speaking with his friends, so I asked how many languages he spoke. He said 5 (cool!) and asked me how many I speak. I only speak English, and he responded, "Oh, so you...

What Is YOUR Kryptonite? (What Things About Others Make You Go Weak In the Knees?)

When someone is genuinely kind and gentle. Suze said it best--that you can see it in their eyes. Also who is giving out pie recipes? I love lemon meringue pie, but I haven't looked for recipes yet. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I am single and searching, I am single but not searching, I am single till the day I find. Which one are you?

I'm similar to most of you--single and not actively searching. I like how seoulsearch said that no matter how it turns out, God is still the God of hope. And Lynx saying not having energy specifically for searching--definitely there, too! Fourteen nieces and nephews take up enough time already...
