And He gives this Grace and Mercy, not based upon works, but based upon the Lord's Promise.
Romans 4:14 NKJV - For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect . . .
Galatians 3:17 NKJV - And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.
And what covenant is that? It is the Covenant made with Abraham, our Father of Faith . . . the man who the Lord instituted the Family of Circumcision. Abraham received God's Grace and Mercy when He, the Lord, first Circumcised Abrahams Heart, followed by the Mark of this Holy Circumcision through the physical circumcision made by human hands.
Check out the "two elevens." These two "elevens" show the difference between what human hands can do and what the Hand of Christ can do:
Ephesians 2:11 NKJV - 11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh--who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands--
Colossians 2:11 NKJV - 11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ . . .
This is the Grace and Mercy that you wonderfully are promoting!
Exodus 33:19 NKJV - 19 Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
This Grace, Mercy, and Compassion . . . this points to the Spiritual Circumcision of Christ.
Colossians 2:13 NLT - "You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins."
To be "made alive" is what the Spiritual Circumcision of Christ accomplishes.
