When we read anything of David, we need to think ahead of what, and Who would be coming after him . . . namely, Christ. Jesus is called the Son of David by many people, even Evil Spirits referred to Him as such. This is a huge key to understanding the Bible and what it's about.
Look up the story between David and Shimei. How David handles Shimei, the man who verbally and even physically assaults him . . . is amazing. We're looking at a pre-image of Christ in how He dealt with His being hauled away, that when he was struck, He did not strike back. When Jesus was cursed, He did not curse in return. David, the Father of Christ, was giving an example to us of who the Son of David would become and what He would be like.
The depth of our Bible is shocking. Once I began to see that virtually everything that you read is a forward reflection of something to come in the future . . . it changed everything for me. This includes the Sadducees, Pharisees, and teachers of the law . . . these groups were a forward reflection of the modern-day "church" of today. Today's "church" THINKS that they are the Holy and Righteous ones of the planet, but they are just as deceived as were the three groups mentioned. Today's "church" doesn't even know what the Gospel is, let alone teach anything that resembles the Truth.
Ask, seek, and knock . . . and do not ever stop. Those who stop are deceived.
