Regardless of his Theology, it is sound. Driving 100 MPH and saying the Lord will protect you is foolish...at "perceived" need though? It's a fine line between trusting and testing.
Not sure if bumping works but this is mostly a test. I think people should still consider other's sensibilities regarding the currently "on-topic" virus.
