Your brain is doing what's it has been programmed to do. Tilting the head and the slight narrowing of eyes is an across the board, all cultures, human thing to do. Some people have more pronounced movements than others, but what you're doing is normal.

I would say Toyota is to Lexus as Chevrolet is to Cadillac. Or Ford is to Lincoln or Nissan is to Infinity.

Again, fair enough. I Simply chose Buick because they have shared platforms on some of their models, just as Lexus did with Toyota.

But here is one... Scion is to Toyota what Saturn was to GM.

I must reject this one, however. The target market segment is distinctly different. Also it would appear that Scion will not be a costly folly contributing heavily to the near undoing of a backbone corporation. Scion appears to be a sustainable model. Besides, the FR-S concept knocked my socks off at SEMA in 2011. Saturn's coolest was.... Hmmm... either their 2 (later 2.5) door Saturnized Cavalier or the 3 door hatch Astra, both of which lacked the luster they would need to compete with the FR-S in my eyes. I do hereby disqualify the Saturn Sky as this is clearly nothing more than a rebadged Pontiac Solstice - a vehicle line that never got the respect it deserved.

Yes, the Sub is a sveet ride. There are truely sweeter cars out there than anything Subaru or any incarnation of Toyota or GM has built, and I do not intend to say any one car mentioned is the apex of automobilia. I must have somehow missed the intensity of the "sportiness" you refer to from their redline. Sadly, the changes they were wisely making at Saturn were too late.

Love me some Toaster. the coolest boxy car readily available since the demise of the 240 - the car that taught us that Sweeds main automotive design tool was the Etch-a-Sketch. I think the Toaster achieved thing that the Cube failed (blatant personal preference)... and surpassed the Element in some respects, though I'd not normally compare the xB and the Element. That's like comparing UPS boxes with USPS boxes: they get you there, but the journey is not the same.

What isn't better with a 3rd pedal?
A car like that was not meant for getting groceries in, but sadly it seems they may have performed like one. I felt it died as a fledgling that could have one day flown. Nice lines, but not sufficiently adept at leaving two black ones on the tarmac.

I like that we can disagree. If everyone agreed with me, would I ever learn and grow?

I let my 7 yr old spend his money on a FPS. It's shooting robots with Nerf guns & rated "E." I figure no harm there.
I'm not interested in dancing with my TV, but do like to dance in the right setting ...which is proof that I'm not the stereotypical member of my particular flavor of church.

Allow me to weigh in on the car discussion... I agree to reject the Saturn-Scion comparison. Scion has numerous original cars that aren't represented in the domestic US Toyota line. Saturn only had one car (the S-Series) that wasn't part of GM platform sharing. (it wasn't a rebadged Cavalier)

The original Saturn S-Series was a good car for its time. It was built and sold in a different way than what GM was used to. GM then promptly ignored Saturn for the next 12 years before they started adding rebadged GM platforms...Much too little, much too late. If you have a brand that puts out the exact same thing as the other brands, then why bother? (See also: Pontiac, Plymouth, Mercury, and to some extent, Saab, Oldsmobile)

The S-Series also had some special, limited editions and a good showing in car racing. The RedLine trim levels helped, but a brand/model can't survive without a modern redesign every few years. By the time Saturn received mildly interesting rebadged cars in 2006 with the Sky, Astra, and Aura, the brand was already dead.

Fun fact: I have a phobia of dancing. I was asked to stand up in my friend, Jon's wedding. He told his fiance that I would/could/won't dance, so as a prank, she emailed me to tell me that she was planning to have the bridesmaids and groomsmen dance down the aisle to the altar. After a total freakout/meltdown, I wrote her back and told her (among other things in rambling scared-little-puppy-type language) to find someone else. She wrote me back and apologized, as Jon wasn't even aware how weird I get about it.
