I also use Slackware. I started out (years ago) with SUSE. I have also used various 'flavors' of UNIX (at work).Cool... For some reason I find slackware based linux easier to use sometimes...
I do not mean to take anything away from the OP -- I just took this thread to be good for:If you use Linux - and need help with it - please feel free to PM me if you believe I may be able to help you.

This thread is the closest I could find to my issue. I, like many other members here, am having issues with the Flash upgrade. My original install of MS Windows XP Pro is hopelessly corrupted, so I have been using Knoppix, a version of Linux on live CD. I have tried many times and sought out many forums for advice as to how to upgrade my Flash, but I seem to be stuck with Version 9.x. Youtube is still useable, but barely. Today when I tried to enter chat, I got a query box about mic usage, but the system froze before I could click anything. Another attempt got me into the room, but then it froze again. I would be surprised if anyone could offer a fix to this, other than buying a new computer, but it would be cool if someone could.

Hi Daddycat.
Rest assured, that even if your OS is corrupt, there is a fix for this - although it entails a format + reload of Windows. Unfortunately, it's hard for me to service your system through CC forums.
Why is it your Flash cannot be updated? If you're willing, I'd be able to connect to your PC remotely using a certain program to try to correct the Flash Player problem. But as for your OS; I'm afraid you will need to re-install Windows XP, unless you're using a PC with a good recovery partition, in which case you can use the built-in recovery to restore the computer to it's factory condition.
Feel free to PM me if you like!
