Some atheists are arrogant and some aren't. It really depends on the individual. Just as with any belief, it's not safe to paint all believers with one broad brush.

Yep. If you aren't serving Christ, it is a waste of time and life. I wasted an entire 17 years of my life.

Indeed, this is very true. The bible, unsurprisingly covered this one from the very beginning.Arrogant people will be arrogant people despite their faith or lack there of. Just keep this in mind

Your argument is the exact same thing that atheists say; christians are arrogant and when you post things like this it's proving them right. It just shows that your unwillingly to have an open mind. You will never win an argument if you refuse to listen to the others side.

The Big Bang Theory could co exist with the creation theory. I mean, the universe is vast, and the majority of it is unknown, but even the bible says that existence was created from nothingness. From the darkness there was light.
The thinking behind the big bang theory is to do with the expansion of the universe. It expands rapidly every day, in equal measure in every direction. Therefore, the laws of physics state that at some point it had to have been a singularity. An explosion of nothing into something.
The bible says that the world was created in seven stages. Seven periods of time. Now those periods of time might not have been a day as we know it (the time it takes for the earth to rotate once around the sun), it could have been in different measure.
The proof is most definitely there that the universe began as a small area and expanded into what it is now, so somehow, some way, the two HAVE to co exist with each other. It's the only logical explanation for a Christian.
To label an athiest as arrogant is somewhat hypocritical. We can all be arrogant at times. Everybody has faults, but the thing is, that's just life. Letting it annoy you or separate you from other people is only going to cause you angst and stress. Accept people for what they are and you'll find life becomes a lot easier. Have an open mind, to some degree.
I don't think it's arrogance that turns us away from God. It's fear. Fear is something we do not need as a species. What good does fear ever do us? It makes us afraid, unwilling, faithless. Humans fear the unknown. And I think people who don't believe in God, do so because they fear they are not in control of their own lives, which ironically, is just a product of their inner insecurity about themselves.
Letting go is the key. Learning to ignore the judgemental voice in your head and embrace other people.
These are my views, and nobody needs to accept them, but get what you can from it. If it helps, it helps

Also another one; perhaps the Big Bang theory is true. That the universe did explode, did do waht they say it has done. Nowhere in science does it state that there was no driving force behind this. In fact, scientists are still trying to figure out exactly HOW the universe just exploded from nothing. well here's my answer; God did it.
Also, the way atoms behave, their make-up, and the evolution of species. Science does not actually have rock solid proof of evolution, or an explanation of why atoms behave as they do. But I must point out, I take a big interest in science, and some of the stuff is hard to explain in biblical terms. For example Homo Erectus, and Neanderthals; which were a totally different, less intelligent breed of human, and skeletons have been found. This could be what the first human's God created were like. Big and dumb. Like I said, 'period of time' could be a very long seven days.
Then you look at sciences flaws, and when you get into quantum physics (the physics of inside an atom) it's like a big fat slap in the face to all the laws of physic we know. Soo . . yano . . it's difficult to say that science is totally accurate.
But I read a passage of revelation the other day, something about the water and starting off in the water or something, I cant remember exactly but I'll try to find it. I must say, revelation is quite a confusing read :S
But the point is, somehow, these things have to co exist with each other, because I mean, you really have to be blind to miss some of the amazing things science has shown us and proven. And if you refuse to believe any science, then that is totally ridiculous. It's there, plain for the eyes to see. So, like I said, it's difficult but I am a firm believer that God made everything, and somehow, the proof of science and the word of God co-exist.

They are arrogant because they are foolish enough to think they have the answers on everything. Someone on CC once said that if they cant figure out how they built the pyramids how do they expect to understand how the universe was made... they just pretend they know so they can pretend to think that God doesn't exist... they very much confused and deluded with their own thoughts and pride.

And who's to say that you aren't being arrogant for thinking that the God you believe in is the one true God? Or that God isn't arrogant for allegedly being all-powerful when even he had to rest on the 7th day after creating everything?

God is to say. That's one of the main reasons I believe in God... who are you to tell me what's right or wrong? Who am I? Who is the person next to you to tell us? Who is anyone to say right and wrong... God is to say.
If there is no God... then all the rapists, all the murderers... all the worst of the worst are allowed to do anything and we wouldn't mind actually because we wouldn't understand right from wrong without God. However, we do understand to a certain extent... what's right and whats wrong because God wrote it in our hearts to feel its wrong. There's concrete, absolute morals that we know are wrong, throughout all cultures very much the same... that's because God set in our hearts. Without that we wouldn't know, or care and we'd be like enraged animals, just ripping each others flesh apart for survival without a second thought.... but there are second thoughts because there is a God.

That sort of argument always terrifies me. Who can't come up with good mundane reasons to avoid ripping each other apart? At the very least, "I don't like it, so they probably won't either, and I don't seem to be more important than anybody" keeps me from doing things to other folks that I'd find personally abhorrent. Heck, game theory shows me that I'm probably better off not stabbing my neighbor, even if she happens to have the milk in her fridge that I want for my cookies.
