Yep, when they started making fun of her I was like " don't they know why the early distant warning line is there?" Hubby asked what that was. I guess it was so close to us in Canada that we learned about it in school.

The closest points between Alaska and Russia are the Diomede Islands in the Bering Strait, specifically between Little Diomede (US) and Big Diomede (Russia), which are only about 2.4 miles (3.8 km) apart, marked by the International Date Line, creating a "Tomorrow Island" (Russia) and "Yesterday Island" (US) time difference. While the narrowest point between mainland Alaska and Russia is around 55 miles across the Strait, the Diomede Islands are the closest landmasses.

Yep that 180 degree line. It makes me laugh when I hear everyone talking about the realm of influence in the western hemisphere belonging to the US because right there where your talking about is in the WH and is Russia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Hemisphere

I guess Dmitri couldn't paddle fast enough. Some updates on Venezuela by the excellent Hegseth and Rubio. May all my valiant sentinels of the seasand stewards of the state be blessed, praise Jesus.

Praise Jesus.

Seems the Kremlin weighed things out and taking on NATO over an oil tanker just wasn't worth it. If it were me I would have put the Ford out of the Caribbean where it can spread it's task force out farther and be protected at the same time and the Bella 1 would have never left the Gulf. The Fords not something to gamble with sitting there just for a show of strength. If things go south and friction starts it becomes a target. It also could cause you to hesitate because your protecting it at a time when you may have wanted to act more aggressive like escorted oil tankers refusing to stop. Watching two kings push each others buttons just to see who will flinch first gives me goose bumps. Especially when they do it to each other and tell the media something else is going on.

There are two kinds of dogs, those that bark and those that bite. Which kind do you think Putin is?

Pushed far enough he would have sunk the Ford I think. It's probably best to let it leave like they did and overtake it at the NORTHCOM's upper boundary where they did instead of in the Caribbean. In the Caribbean if we would have pressed the issue Putin would have sacrificed a vessel or two for the prize I think.

And see in post 52 you said Chinese and Russian navy ships were in Greenland which would mean military ships. The Chinese and Russian navy/military is not in or on Greenland. Trump did not say Chinese and Russia navy ships were all around Greenland he said "ships". This doesn't make much difference either if looking at the exact words Trump used because the entire population of Greenland is about 57,000 people so even if he meant cargo ships from China and Russia 57,000 people wont need very many ship loads of TV;s,phones and such per year in the first place. With only 57,000 people in Greenland the issue is you may want to put the Food, clothes TV's,phones and other goods they could consume all on the same ship.If you really want to scare yourself over a place that actually has Chinese vessels going in and out of it's ports 24 hours a day just go down to any of the ports in the US with a pair of binoculars. Or look at the Bella 1 that the Russian navy escorted up to the Arctic trade route and is entering right now. Which would only mean when it left Venezuela and they first refused to let the US Coast Guard board it there was a reason why an armed vessel could not stop an unarmed vessel, I.E armed Russian vessels operating in the Gulf escorted the Bella 1 out. The Venezuelan Frigate escorted it until the Russians took over and the the Frigate returned to Venezuela. That hurt Trumps pride so he turned his attention to the trade route Russia was escorting the Bella to. In other words Putin called his bluff to see if Trump would fire on the Russian navy and now he knows he wont. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/06/world/americas/russia-tanker-bella.html

Okay,
So you are a Blue Dog Democrat with a stage 3 case of TDS.

Meaning:
You do not have logic and reasoning ability. You use rhetoric as fact.

Facts are Greenland does not have access to historic fishing grounds. Denmark is doing nothing.

Nope never voted for a Democrat in my life.

Then why are you spouting Democrat rhetoric instead of what we really know?

I'm just not the type to repeat things without thinking through if they are the truth or not. Some will do just that just based on a political party and others will not. To me for example if everyone quotes a person who has dementia they will also sound as if they have dementia because they parrot a person who has dementia. Those on the Right who parrot things without thought are exactly the same as those on the Left who parrot the things the Left says without thought. Both have lost their ability to think and are left with nothing else to do but to dangle on their puppet strings. Say these things, vote this way, agree with me or I will put you back in your box.

Russia itself said what I was saying better than I did myself when they said to Trump today, "ensure humane and dignified treatment" of Russian citizens onboard. So they themselves admit that the Bella 1 was an Russian vessel with a Russian escort from when it entered the Gulf of Mexico and all the way back to the Northern Atlantic sea route. That's how close you were to a war between Russia and the US for the last two weeks of your life and were never what was taking place. https://thehill.com/policy/international/5676928-tensions-rise-us-russia-venezuela/

Russia is just trying to play little games now that they got caught. They'll bluster and rage about their plot being thwarted but that's all they can really do. Let them remember not to mess with the US.

Well clearly Dmitri and all those on board his vessel with Russian citizenship are spies and saboteurs so yea if Putin wants them back maybe he can release some of the innocent Americans and we'll do a trade. Otherwise I got the perfect song for Dmitri and his Russian crew to listen to on loop for a few months.

At least it was entertaining watching two little bantam roosters dance around each other in a circle for a few weeks. Nicholas 2 made the same mistakes these bantam kings are making by not listening to their advisers,Generals,Admirals ect. advice and lost an entire kingdom.

Nah it's a case of my stewards are right to listen to me their king, this is exactly why Trump and administration are great. For Putin I mean I shouldn't really put out in the aether way to help a rival king, but like his problem is being a quasi-terrorist to begin with really. It is slightly amusing that Dmitri and his spycrew managed to slip out of the blockade and get as far as they did, but it's still a lowlife move, they're just trying to get a cheap W by pilfering their "partner" and just pretend like Russia is still strong probably for their own people that they misule more than for us really. Even besides the obvious fact of BRICS not being on the table anymore for Venezuela they should really think about how Russia really treats its client states. Even without my thumb on the scale joining BRICS would be a foolish move for Venezuela. Even returning to the topic of oil, like yea Trump is just stroking his ego really by "taking" some barrels of oil, but we're going to pay them about 50 dollars a barrel for it so it's a win-win we get a large amount of oil for fairly cheap (i'd personally note Biden had used up some of the strategic reserve during covid lockdowns, perhaps we could restoresome of this). Russia and China and other shady actors been paying Venezuela closer to 30 dollars a barrel to get around sanctions but this also is them essentially ripping Venezuela off and further exacerbated the downfall of their oil industry and wider economy. So even though Trump leans into the sorta greedy oil dictator image, really rather than pilfering them we're kinda throwing them a bone generously paying roughly double than Russia and China are paying them to give them a lil injunction of cash that they clearly need. It's also something of a test though they're going to obviously cope and seethe some at us in the immediate aftermath, really we're giving them a really good deal here, how they approach it then will show if they have the maturity to lead and if we can work with the current regime while they ideally plan elections.

There's absolutely no way possible for a bunker burner to "slip out of the blockade" unless the US let it do it on purpose. That's the noisiest, biggest, slowest blip on the screen. I know they told everybody it slipped out but that was just to hide what was really taking place. We don't need no oil we're laying off employees because of low demand by the tens of thousands because there's no place to store it. Look at all articles from the oil companies announcing layoffs. https://www.facebook.com/houstonchr...is-year-prompting-a-wave-of/1305240108286791/

The news stories linked before tell you how they did it. They were being tracked before but they then changed their registration and flag to Russia's mid journey. Truth be told the sentinels were following them and watching them indeed in more obscure news sources acknowledged for like the past 3 days roughly so we kinda cheated, we knew Dmitri was never going to get away but we just kinda wanted to watch him paddle for the laughs since Eli brought it up and its a great running joke on this forum lol.

Credit where credit is due though indeed thank Jesus for some good allies still in the British who were actually helpful, their defense minister's remarks after the successful custody of these Russian spies was well put. I'll put an older article and a video of his remarks, kudos to Britain, praise Jesus.

From roughly 2 days ago slightly before the excellent interception.

The Donald promised no more quagmires and occupations in foreign countries. Now, big surprise, he's saying the US may have a presence for years in Venezuela. The "peace president" strikes again.
