This same sermon was mentioned in Luke and he gave more details.
Luke 6:17 And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples
and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, 18 as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. 19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed
them all.
Mat 5:1 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
“Blessed
are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed
are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed
are the meek,
For they shall inherit the [
a]earth.
6 Blessed
are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed
are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed
are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9 Blessed
are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed
are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
We don't get to pick out God's blessings and disregard God's laws. Its the blessed who are the ones keeping God's commandants Rev22:14
And Jesus said this at the same sermon
Mat 5:19
Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches
them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven
That He said this:
Luke 6:46 “
But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? 47
Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and
does them,
I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was [
j]founded on the rock. 49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it [
k]fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”
We can always be just hearers of God's words James1:22 or we can have faith that respond and does what He says, which is what faith is all about, hearing, believing and doing. You can keep thinking God's commandments are for Jews only, but there is no Scripture that says Jews can have to only worship God, but everyone else can worship whoever they want, Jews can't murder, but Gentiles can, Jews have to not take God's name in vain, but Gentiles can do whatever, this is a teaching sadly that will lead people where He said it would.
49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it [
k]fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”
