The "answer" to this "puzzle" is so incredibly wrong - and, as a basis for a 'joke', reflects the fallen depraved nature of thinking today - which happily thinks it is funny.

While it may have a place in the logic/puzzle realm for the sake of learning - there was a time in my lifetime when it would most definitely not be considered "fit" for public consumption.

It is sad to see it appear on a Christian site in a 'funny' thread.

To suggest killing a human being for the sake of greed - or to simplify a solution for a problem - and, to think it is funny - is a perfect example of how wickedness has permeated and saturated our culture. The 'dark' nature of the "answer" to this "puzzle" clearly and sadly illustrates the progression of patterns of depraved thinking in our society.

All of that said - technically, there is actually a valid answer to the puzzle. The knife would have to cut through both apples at the same time such that 1/3 of each apple where sliced off - leaving 2/3 of an apple, 2/3 of an apple, and two pieces that were 1/3 each - a total of 2/3 of an apple - making three "portions" that were 2/3 of an apple.

I was thinking more along this way of thinking. Offing someone didn't come to mind when I saw @Charlesiii's post

The joke is supposed to be that the people who would consider using that method for "solving" the puzzle are in the 6% (an estimate of the number of psychopaths in society). Basically, if you considered murder as a possible solution, you may be one of them! But I didn't mean to upset you.

Now that's funny!

And you will all be pleased to know that Lynx is not a psychopath, or at least not a homicidal one. I was as lost as last year's easter egg before Gary explained it.

The part at the bottom with the shifty/shifting eyes confirms it...

Since I didn't relate the meme to offing someone, I must not be in the 6%. What a relief.

*shifty eyes* :p jk

I disagree with your assessment - I do not see how that would be a joke.

You do not have to be a psychopath to understand the intent of it - if you have seen enough evil in the world, and been exposed to the realm of 'dark' ideas/thinking through research, you can easily see the pattern...

But I didn't mean to upset you.
I am not so much 'upset' as I am 'sad' to see 'dark' ideas like that promoted as amusement.

Society is way too 'dark' already - why advance/help/promote/support it?

Why encourage the psychopath way of thinking???

Dude. You are DEFINITELY upset about it. You can say you're not, but it's pretty obvious.

Personally I thought it was hilarious... Once I got the joke.

If you keep yelling at everybody like this about everything you don't like, you're gonna get a sore throat. Or in this case probably carpal tunnel syndrome from typing.

Somebody thought it was funny enough to make that picture. Multiple people on this forum thought it was funny. So... Yes, it was funny to some people. You can say it was not funny to you, but you can't claim it is objectively not funny. (I mean, well, you CAN claim that if you want but it is patently false.)

I thought the 6% was the number of those who would consider offing the third...
