Just to clarify: I believe God is revealed in creation and that God created matter and the laws by which they operate,
which seem to indicate per current scientific study that the universe is billions of years old.

Current scientific theory is that humanity evolved from pre-human Mammalia. I believe the purpose of Genesis is not
to teach astrophysics or how humanity was made but rather it is an OT parable teaching who created everything, why and
how humans differ from animals.

I do believe NT SB replaced PC and was symbolized by WB.
I do believe post-NT glossolalia is babbling that is indistinguishable from what pagans practice.

I believe what I share on CC and our website is the most correct understanding of GW, but I invite congenial critique
(unlike Ouch's accusations), because as a truthseeker my goal is to amend my beliefs as soon as I learn they need fine-tuning
(cf. Phil. 3:12-14--I am good at "forgetting what is behind" :^).

Yep, I do totally understand.

You put men's views including your own in front of GOD'S word.

How could being spirit baptized which is when JESUS fills us with HIS spirit and we speak in tongues replace baptized in water which is to remove our sins?

Of course you can believe anything you like, but it's better to follow JESUS and HIS word over your own and other men.

One leading to life the other leading to destruction.

Do you think we came from monkeys?

How can NT didachaic teachings that build on the kerygma not be part of Scripture?!
Please quote one as an example.
Is the did ache actually in the NT? If it isn't, (which it ain't), then it's not scripture nor inspired of God as is scripture.

Yeah, this could be a long topic. Here is a quote from wiki...

Codex Hierosolymitanus (also called the Bryennios manuscript or the Jerusalem Codex, often designated simply "H" in scholarly discourse) is an 11th-century (1056) Greek manuscript. It contains copies of a number of early Christian texts including the only complete edition of the Didache. It was written by an otherwise unknown scribe named Leo, who dated it 1056.

The codex contains the Didache, the Epistle of Barnabas, the First Epistle of Clementand the Second Epistle of Clement, the long version of the letters of Ignatius of Antiochand a list of books of the Hebrew Bible.

It was discovered in 1873 by Philotheos Bryennios, the metropolitan of Nicomedia, in the collection of the Jerusalem Monastery of the Most Holy Sepulchre in Constantinople. He published the texts of the two familiar Epistles of Clement in 1875, overlooking the Didache, which he found when he returned to the manuscript.

The Codex's list of books of the Hebrew Bible has often been taken for the first written Canon of the Old Testament, dating from the early second century. However, Luke J Stevens argues that the list has notable parallels in spelling of the books and in its section title to the eighth-century Doctrina Patrum, which is itself dependent on Eusebius.

Some more resources for you GWH. Please go through them and tell me what you think.

Who's using whom?

"The Didache and Matthew have quite a lot of material uniquely in common, which suggests a particularly close relationship between them. The Didache was discovered, however, at time when it was generally assumed that the Gospels must contain the most ancient record of the teaching of Jesus - so the idea that Matthew might have used the Didache wasn't contemplated until the publication of The Gospel of Matthew's Dependence on the Didache (JSNTSupp 254; London: T&T Clark International, 2004)"

"In a nutshell, this book argues three points - the first two of which are not at all controversial, while the third is definitely controversial. "

  • "The Didache is a composite text. "
  • "The Didache has many points of unique similarity with Matthew."
  • "This situation is best explained if Matthew used the Didache after most its component parts had already been assembled. (This seems preferable to supposing that each of the (direct and indirect) contributors to the Didache each happened to use Matthew, or Matthew's sources, in a very similar way.)"

Thanks, kinda, but my interest is gleaning didachaic teachings from the primary source: the NT.
However, I think it would be wonderful for you to peruse The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles
and share with us how it aligns or jibes with what we find. Perhaps it would cause us to notice
items we had overlooked.

Could you rephrase this to more simpler terms? I feel it could be misinterpreted.

Not exactly sure what "this" refers to, but I would like for you to reply to post #95 and subsequent posts discussing didachaic teachings in the NT by commenting on how what we discuss compares with what is contained in The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles.
Thanks.

The teaching of the 12 Apostles still stands today as our foundation!!

AND should be the main topic on a Christian chat sight!!!!!!!!

Question is why discuss this topic at all since this is a Christian chat sight and discussing the Didache is the same as discussing the quran or your favorite disney movie.

My point is it has NOTHING to do be GODS word and having a personal relationship with HIM as you think it does.

To look at it as history and nothing to do with GOD'S word is a different story.

Don't put them together.

Do we come from monkeys?

Your silence tells me you do!

I would like to share this verse with you.

Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Facts are you will not accept HIS word, what do you think of that verse?

Just to clarify AGAIN: I believe God is revealed in creation and that God created matter and the laws by which they operate,
which seem to indicate per current scientific study that the universe is billions of years old. Also, current scientific study
is that humanity evolved from pre-human Mammalia.

I no NOT believe the Bible was written in order to teach the earth sciences, astrophysics or how humanity came to exist,
but rather it is to teach how to be saved, which means revealing who created everything, why and how humans differ from animals.

I believe humans differ from animals because of having God consciousness and moral conscience and that the A&E story
is a parable meant to teach just that truth.

You have a different understanding of GW, so sue me--no, better yet, BET me/accept my bet!

What is your bet? If it has nothing to do with GOD and HIS word, I'm not intrested.

There is an answer for everything in HIS word, the reason sciences believe what they believe is because they don't believe GOD'S word to be true as you don't.

We all have choices to make, follow men or JESUS.

If you follow JESUS the earth is less than 6000 years old.

Since you do believe animals are different than humans is a good start.

How can you believe men who say the earth is millions or billions years old without following what they also believe as we come from monkeys?

GOD'S word is easy to understand it's not that I have a different understanding of HIS word is an easy read, it's you don't accept what it says as you follow your own wisdom leaving GOD out of it!!! So it's you who don't understand it, or you do and will not accept it.

I'm not mad at you for thinking what you think, I feel bad for all who follow men or themselves. Since you have your own web sight which goes against HIS word you think you are the one to follow, as some may?

I follow men in the past, until I found out what GOD'S word said, of course you have to be humble and accept it.

You have a jaded view of scientists. There are many Christian scientists. My dad was one.
Yes, the crucial choice is to follow Jesus rather than anti-Christ (kerygmatic), NOT whether one believes
the A&E story is literal or metaphorical (didachaic).
I believe God is not tricky, so true physical science will not contradict true metaphysics or spiritual truth.
I also believe God has given me some wisdom aka common sense or discernment, and the website is me online--
my testimony shared for the edification of fellow truthseekers (which is why I say it is OUR website), and I bet it is
truer than your disagreement, because I continually amend my beliefs as I learn more and disagree with myself--
and I have done so today. I think I have previously invited you to provide a substantive/constructive post for me
to consider adding to our website. I don't keep track of who prompts which amendments, but I bet you have
already prompted me to amend something on it--by way of fine-tuning, of course.

Alot of people claim to be Christians, the question is are they.

How can comeone who claims to be a Christian, but don't belived HIS word to be true?

My view is easy peasy and very clear, we have mens oppinoin and we have GODS word WHICH IS TRUE AND FACTUAL.

So with that being said, if a man says the earth is older then GODS word THE MAN IS WRONG!!

Or spirit baptism replace water baptism THAT PERSON IS WRONG.

See how easy I am to read, the only question is will more men follow JESUS and land with HIM in Heaven or continue down the same path trusting men or themselves and land in Hell?

Why do men have their own website when we GOD gave us HIS rule book?

Again we all have choices to make.

Surely I have told you by now the 5-point creed that I suggest Christians believe, at least implicitly when they accept Jesus as Lord.
I call this creed the kerygma to distinguish it from other doctrines in GW that are not necessary to believe in order to be saved,
which I call the didache. The kerygma is simple enough for anyone of the age of moral accountability to understand and is the
foundation of Christian faith, but the didache may be more complicated and build on that foundation.

An example of this is your claim to know infallibly what is GW, which I think is papalistic, yet we both may be Christians--God knows. Another example is your view that the Bible teaches the earth is not more than a few thousand years old versus my view that it appears to be billions of years old. A third example is your belief that WB is salvific or sacramental versus mine that it is symbolic of SB. The question/bet is which view is correct, and the answer may not be known until we are in heaven. We have these disagreements because Scripture does not clearly resolve them.

I already explained why I have a website: Because I believe God has given me some wisdom aka common sense or discernment
and wants me to share why I believe GW per 1Peter 3:15, and the website is me or my testimony online and cites GW constantly.
The better question to ask yourself is "Why don't I testify what I believe by creating a website?" Why do I resent GWH sharing GW
via a website? If you don't want to start your own, then share mine by submitting what you think is needed. In the meantime I encourage you to continually amend your beliefs as you learn more of GW rather than kick against its goads.

We have GODS word and people have an oppinion.

As I said you can think anthing you like, the difference between you and I is I don't share my opinion, only HIS word.

For instance

Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

What is seen with that verse is we are TOLD to get baptized in JESUS name to get rid of our sins.

Not my opinion, that is what it says.

It goes on to say and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Not my opinion, that is what it says.

Problem is you don't see they are two separate things and we NEED BOTH.

So you and I will NEVER see eye to eye unless YOU follow HIS word.

Let me ask you this, how many different opinions of HIS word is there?

Kinda crazy to follow ALL OF THEM, instead we could be all on one accord if we all just followed HIS WORD.

This is what happens when people are all in one accord.

Acts 2
King James Version
2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

JESUS told HIS disciples NOT TO GO OUT WITHOUT IT, DID YOU?

Yea, sad you still can't see.

How many can't?

It's a WIDE road.

Did you know your problem is not with me right!!

It's with JESUS himself.

I think we should all do a group hug. Now come on in close brothers and any sisters who want to. There we go let’s rest our arms on the brother and/or sister on either side of us. Let’s just have a moment of silence and just look at each other for a moment. Look at us with all of our imperfections, shortcomings, and character defects. Heck take a good look at my unsettling self. I can’t even match my clothes to be presentable half the time. Every one of us in this circle and discussion has the love of God in their heart for their brothers and sisters. Yeah, our pride may flare up, or we may have jealousy issues, or some other issue that keeps us living imperfectly, but look at us. Christ died for every one of us, and though I may say some wrong things in anger or the heat of the moment, u have live for every one of you, and I would step out of my comfort zone to help any of you because of the love God has given me toward you. Now, let’s all bow our heads and I’ll lead us in prayer.
“Lord, we love you so much, and we’re sorry for our ways and attitudes toward each other sometimes, please touch all our hearts, and let us understand that if everyone on these threads were in a room together, we would have much greater joy and love for each other. Lord, if we could hear tone of voice, and read body language, and look into the lamp of the body, we would have much more understanding and compassion towards each other. Please touch our hearts, and let us realize that when we opt out of the thread discussions and go offline, we all are the same in most every way. We have much of the same heartache and problems as one another, with our spouse, children, parents, health, habits, and most everything else. Lord please touch our hearts and let us come together in peace and love, and if we get argumentative, or angry, please forgive us and be patient as you teach us how to perfect your most wonderful love. We love you lord, and I love all my brothers and sisters in Christ, and I even have love for the natural human being too because your love shines so great in my heart.
now, ……….cant we all just get along in the unity of Christ? I’m not being sarcastic but very sincere. It saddens me the way people communicate in these threads.
Ah well, u just got hit with the realization that I just wasted my time typing all this.
Ah well. I love you all, AMEN!

If you would like to move the discussion forward along the track by responding to posts #94 & 95, perhaps at least we
would be happy, so please do so. Thanks!
