This is incomplete reasoning because receiving the forgiveness that Christ paid for depends on becoming a participant in the covenant that removes sins. The price was paid for all. but many choose not to accept that debt relief
Reminds me of a parable Jesus taught about debt relief and God the father
“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his Lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the Lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their Lord all that was done. Then his Lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? And his Lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
( now the lesson ) So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”
Matthew 18:21-35
“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”
Matthew 7:1-2 KJV
“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”
Matthew 5:7 KJV
“So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
James 2:12-13 KJV
If we look to Jesus words rather than Moses words the light turns on. We’re all guilty already of sin in some way Jesus has already paid the price and become the propitiation for sin . Now we have a better word to believe and walk according to one of mercy and forgivness patience and compassion all
In his name.
being merciful and compassionate towards people with our words and actions helping people when we can , not harming people or taking but helping and giving ect this is our call because we failed the “ be holy as I am holy “ test when we sinned once . Now we’re called to Be merciful because he is merciful and forgiving because he is forgiving to extend a helping hand because he did to treat other humans properly is not too tall A task for us .
to acknowledge our wrongs and repent when we mess up isnt to much of a task and chore . Just to live productive and decent lives and not harm People forgive and help whenever we can kindness mercy peace brotherhood ……that upholds the law of God and was always the intent or man’s reformation
swords into plowshares wars into peace hate into love theft into gift giving lies into truth death into salvation and eternal life killing into helping adultery into faithfulness coventing into contentment . Worship of idols
And false dieties and fables of corrupted mankind …..into knowledge of and worship of the one true and only God
