i've also heard he pretended to be Christian but radically misrepresented Biblical Christian worldview, and that he professionally manipulated unprepared college-age youth in debate, then heavily edited video of those debates, specifically to further a particular secular worldview, and at the same time interacted a few times with actually prepared and educated debate opponents and was utterly destroyed in argumentation -- footage of which he of course did not not post himself, but is available.
given the current climate, i am literally afraid to find out what the facts are because i could lose my livelihood for searching for the truth. if i google to find a debate of him losing, i might be tracked and targeted and my life destroyed and my family's lives put at risk just for trying to find out.
what i understand is that he made a living on youtube by manipulatively abusing unprepared, ignorant youths in debates on college campuses for purely secular reasons, not religious reasons, and had a big following on heavily edited, very misrepresentative, inflammatory youtube videos, from which he drew a lot of money, and were sponsored by secular far right political groups.
this might not be correct but as i said, if i try to dig, there is a danger that i will be literally threatened with murder and that i will lose my livelihood.
my question is how is this someone that we think we should be erecting a monument to in our nations capital if (1) i don't have a clue who he is (2) the indications i can glean is that he is a 4th rate trickster capitalizing on super manipulative completely secular political waves (3) actually finding out - or even trying to find out - who he is and what he did carries an implicit threat of destroying your livelihood or evening being murdered (4) if you did find out he wasn't someone worthy of a monument to his glory and ever said something you would certainly be threatened with murder and lose your job for saying so.
all i have is what you tell me and a few headlines.
i literally am afraid to put his name in a search bar, because my family may starve to death if i click on the wrong search result.
just posting this reply, on CC, saying i don't know who this is and the little i have heard of him indicates he was a scumbag, i am literally afraid that you personally are going to find out who i am, where i work, get me fired, make sure i can never get another job, and then come murder my wife.
