From 1 Peter 1 verses 3-5 ~ The elect are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father and sanctified by the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by His blood. By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
Yes... The elect have been chosen.
But, you do not know what the for.
Yet, you keep harping on us that we have been chosen to be saved.
In our time, the church age. The elect have been chosen to be the body of Christ.
For the Father has chosen a Bride for His Son!
God chose us to be saved now in the church age, because He knows we would believe after God leveled the playing field
by incapacitating the source of our depravity, the flesh…
You consist of body and soul.
When you die, your soul remains.
And, the body turns into burnt umber to be used in paints.
Total depravity is not having its source to automatically reject God in his soul.
The soul is merely helpless to resist the impulses of the depraved flesh, which will oppose God!
God's power of grace knocks out the flesh during God's drawing us into salvation.
Thus, allowing one's soul to think free of the sin nature, while deciding what the soul wishes to believe!
If that soul, while under grace, wishes to know Christ?
Then the drawing of God carries that positive soul over the finish line, and hands that soul to Jesus Christ!
Now, here's the catch!
There are souls, that when God's grace incapacitates the depravity of its flesh?
That soul will REJECT the Lord!
Just like Satan did.... They prefer how they thought and felt while controlled by the depravity of their flesh.
Conceited souls.
These are the children of the Devil.
