I don't know why, but the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear Texas is its flag. And then immediately the second is the Southfork Ranch. In my teenager years when I was watching a rerun of the show, I wanted to live there. But when I found out that it looks completely different inside in real life, I was disappointed... :D

Yep... definitely smaller than it looked on TV..... I live about 10 minutes from it, and drive past it every time I go to the shooting range....

People moving to other places from Texas run into laws that they don't understand. I remember this one guy who moved to California, one night he found a possum in his backyard. He intended to shoot it. His neighbor said, you can't shoot it! You have to call animal control. He sad, ma'am, I'm from texas. I AM animal control!

The great state of California wound up charging him $600 for shooting a possum in his own backyard.

This is why Texans should stay in Texas and not move to other states that have weird restrictions.

You could think about moving to Tennessee though. We live about the same, except we don't have to deal with near the heat you have to deal with.

You can’t shoot a thing in your own backyard?

Ironically, the only two times I've been in Texas, it was to meet people from CC.

We went shopping at Walmart for groceries, and the thing that struck me most was how... patriotic... Texas is.

Yeah, some people even makes threads about Texas on Internet forums. How strange is that?

By golly, it was a joke😂. I was just so dumbfounded by the legislation that I thought it was drafted by the Duckburg city council lol.
*shrug

That's California for ya.

I'mma stay here in Tennessee. Let them stew in their own juice. Any critter comes in my yard that I don't want here, I can handle it myself.

One time I found a raccoon in my garbage can. It was used to being able to get out because there is usually a garbage bag to stand on, but this time the can was empty. I figured the best way to make it want to never come back was to make it mad enough to give my garbage can a one star yelp review. So I poured dishwashing liquid all over it, then poked it with a broom handle. Then I turned the can over and let it run away. Never saw it or any of its family ever again. It probably gave me some VERY bad advertising.

Wonder what the fine for that would be in California?

I think you would be having to face the Italian understanding of the word “fine” for something like that in California.😂

We’re not used to being babysat by the local authorities, so you might could be right about that.

If I "removed" a critter from my yard in Kalifornica, I would just tell them, it wasn't in any way "malicious". It was very loving. So, I'm ok, then. No harm, no foul.

edit to add..... or just follow the "three S" rule...... Shoot, shovel, shut-up.

That is awesome! Could you stop by there sometime and then post a picture here? That would be amazing! :)

Yes - I went there many years ago to check it out - found house and swimming pool to be surprisingly small - made to look larger with camera angles, etc. in/on the TV production.
