"If the left side of your brain controls the right side of your body, and the right side of your brain controls the left side of your body, then left-handed people must be the only ones in their right minds." ~ W.C. FieldsNever argue with left handed people. They're not right.![]()
Well, there's no place that I'd rather be than right here, with my red necks, white socks, and blue ribbon...

Reminds me of the Blues Brothers T shirt that I wore from that age through highschool.

It was my prized possession.
I remember wearing it when the football team put their biggest defensive lineman against me.
He was twice my size and had committed a long list of violent crimes up to that point.
When he had his butt kicked thoroughly and gave up, he picked up a brick sized stone and tried to bash my brains out. After I won the fight and went my way fortunate to be alive, I was so upset that he tore my favorite shirt!
Lol!
The Lord actually protected me from my own foolishness many times.

I feel left out. My grandparents on my mother's side had built and ran a bar which was next to their house in the country. I lived with them through my teen years...and I never had an alcohol related shirt!lol
I tended to wear wildlife tshirts. One year, I was chosen to be the editor of my high school's Potpourri book (a book of writings and art). We had a meeting one day and without me knowing it, someone that contributed to the newspaper took a pic of me as I was looking over the meeting. The pic ended up on the front page of the newspaper and I was wearing a raccoon shirt

I always liked wildlife shirts more than alcohol shirts. Alcohol in the family caused me a lot of heartaches..
I just liked the Blues Brothers and your post of the boy's shirt reminded me of that one. I like how history weaves it's stories into our lives. I can see why you had the wildlife shirts. I still kept one or two.
The one I kept had a story I'll save for the animal thread since it's not really funny. It has artwork of a snake that I actually free handled/held on a business trip. A Saw Scaled Viper that supposedly had it's venom glad removed.
It is a nice T shirt, but that particular snake kills more people than any other.
Racoons can be funny though!

Just now, I saw 6 raccoons on my steps (on the night cam). One is a big one, I call him Big Poppa. I hear him eating and sniffing around. He sounds like a bear lol.
Snakes seemed to navigate to my mother and she wasn't partial to them. She was always having snake encounters in her house or in her yard. She married a guy who used snake skins for his projects. Every time she'd run into a snake inside or out in the yard, she'd holler at him and he'd come deal with it. Their house and yard would have been run amok with snakes if he didn't. She emptied charcoal into her grill one time and out landed a snake. She said, "I thought that was awfully heavy." She accidentally stepped on a coiled up copperhead in her kitchen, and many many other stories. It's a wonder she never got bit.
Anyway, sometimes she'd invite me over for supper. I'd have a cuppa coffee. She kept chocolate covered graham cracker cookies in her upright freezer. I'd usually have one with my cuppa coffee for a treat. The freezer was also where her husband kept the snakes for his projects. So, I'd be reaching into the freezer with a bunch of coiled up frozen snakes to get my cookie. It was just an interesting sight. Cookies and snakes

Cookies and snakes! Lol!
I used to freeze mouscicles, thaw them out for my snakes. The critters had their own freezer for their food though.
I was reminded tonight of one of those big racoons. One squeezed through the eaves somewhere and got into the attic. Sounded like a person walking across the ceiling. Gotta get that sealed off ASAP and set traps. It's been so hot up there, I put it off waiting for it to cool down.
Speaking of a snake on the loose.
I caught a baby black snake one day and brought it home. I didn't have a proper terrarium available, so I made due with what I had that day.
The next day a couple Mormon ladies knocked on my door.
I made the mistake of letting them in.
As I went to the other side of the house to get my Bible, guess who visited the Mormons?
I walked into the living room and they said, Does this belong to you?
The little snake was at their feet looking up to them. I wish I took a picture.
That snake might have been something to remind me to not invite them into my house.
Snakes are always welcome.
Mormons?
