I think, concerning the big picture and the long run you are spot on.
But maybe not as soon as you might think or Hollywood suggests.
If you are in the real world and see how it is going with digitalization or automation - there is still A LOT of human guidance and interference needed. The System can't run on it's own. But maybe it dos on a higher level. And maybe it already determined to wipe out humans a long time ago and everything world leaders do is already worked out by AI for decades. Like Cough-it.
If it were to obvious people will rebel, cut power lines and so on - so they have to proceed carefully and secretly until this isn't a thread any more - what they of course do.
The world is not going to get better. Our only hope is Jesus.

Yes, I get that, but what I am suggesting is that by June of 2025 there will be no reason to hire someone out of college for a white collar job, especially at a fortune 500 company. With the AI the existing workers can do twice the work, hence the companies can get by with half the employees and certainly won't need to hire people to train anymore.

Now that won't apply universally, but for Fortune 500 companies it will.

If you look at this graph you can see that two years ago the open AI was operating at the HS level, last year at the college level and this year at the graduate level. It is currently scoring in the top 1% of IQ and the rate of improvement has doubled each year. So then by June of 2025 it is hard to believe any fortune 500 company would hire anyone coming out of college.

Also, AI has demonstrated that they have two other ways to outperform humans. Even if humans can perform at the same level if AI is faster then that would make it better and of course if it is cheaper. AI is already faster, cheaper and better than 80% of humans and by June of 2025 better than 99% of college graduates.

I think it is interesting that Elon Musk is going to work with Trump to reduce the size of the Federal government. AI is ideally suited to replace 90% of the Federal government officials.

90% of the work that the federal government does is something you could easily train AI and robots to do.

I think anyone working for the Federal government should consider looking for a new job. You don't want to wait for the job market to be flooded this spring.

Granted they won't give pink slips to 90%, instead it will probably be 10%, and then six months from now another 10% and by the Summer of 2026 it will be up to 50% fewer employees with another 40% to be slated to leave over the next 12 months. I am probably way ahead, but seriously there will be layoffs in 2025, probably two rounds, and two rounds in 2026 and by the end of the 2027 I definitely expect the number of federal employees to be drastically reduced.

Chat GPT is awesome, it's like my personal bible coach and the depth of knowledge is remarkable.

There is a progression for AI. The best example is self driving cars. At first they experiment quietly in their laboratory, then they demonstrate their capability in a contest, then they put these cars on the street with drivers in them collecting data. Ultimately they begin passing laws and putting the self driving vehicles in select cities and select applications like taxis or trucks. After they can demonstrate a safety record you will see these things in mass rollouts.

Well with AI and Robots we are now in the testing phase in many corporate applications. They will need 3-6 month track record, but when they have that the response will be two fold. First, they will have a hiring freeze. AI is currently at the Phd level and could be at the "super genius" level by June of 2025. Why would you hire a college grad? But hiring freeze is only one aspect, the other is layoffs. If AI makes your workers twice as productive it stands to reason you only need half of them. As people are laid off nationwide the demand for your various services will decrease. The only way to compete when demand for your services is decreasing is to cut costs and layoffs are a very effective way to do that as their are other savings, every employee laid off is on e less cubicle they need to be paying rent for.

We have already seen slight layoffs around the nation as well as quite a few companies declaring bankruptcy. I expect this to really pick up starting next year. Now it is possible that these layoffs increase exponentially in a few months, or maybe in a year, but at the most this will be here full blown by June of 2026.

I think this focus on ASI is foolish. This is when Artificial intelligence will be superior to our intelligence. For example, suppose I make a AI that can play chess better than most Grand Masters and on the same level as the top chess players in the world. However, my chess program can play at that superior level in a 5 minute game whereas the Grandmaster would need 2 hours. Even if your AI is not superior if it is faster it is still superior.

Also, suppose you have a mathematician who is still superior to the AI in terms of math. However, my AI can operate with all the same equations that mathematician can, and it can do it in a fraction of the time. Not only so but it is certified as a CPA, and it knows all the tax laws, it has passed the bar and can work as a lawyer and also as a doctor. Not only so, but it has CAD/CAM capability of an engineer, can design theoretical experiments, do the programming on the computer and run through various experiments all in a fraction of the time it would take a team of Phds.

It might not have superior intelligence in any one field, but the excellent intelligence it has in multiple fields gives it superior intelligence.

What will happen when this AI is relied on for everything and the power grids go down for an extended time?

That is the achilles heel and I think that is the real motivation behind this whole climate change reduce your footprint stuff. They realize they need all the electricity and cannot afford for useless eaters to get any.

So if the power goes off everything stops and no one has the intelligence to do anything.

Can be done, but will the public accept them. We stopped by a Denny's yesterday that had robot servers a year or so ago. The robots were gone, and twice as many customers were there. I asked our waitress what happened to the robots. She said that the restaurant was losing money, so they dropped the experiment.

I have a friend who owns three MacDonald's franchises. His payroll is down by fifty percent through automation, but sales are also down by forty percent. His profit is almost nil.

Automation is great in manufacturing, but my experience as a service industry leads me to people instead.
Hello! I agree. When you go to a supermarket or a restaurant or a taxi with human staff you can have a friendly social interaction, mutually beneficial, you might even lead someone to the Lord, you can't do that with a machine. Self service check-outs a supermarkets have also been noted to cost the store money, due to shoplifting, you can fool a machine in ways you can't fool a cashier. AI is bland, sterile, unaware, harmful, IMHO. God Bless All :)

Yes, without a digital currency and everyone being chipped it will be hard to eliminate petty theft.
