Purgatory is strictly Catholic and false. It minimizes Christ's work on the cross. The church intended to contend for emmisarial power and authority over mortals. And as a gatekeeper to Heaven.

They're pagan in structure. And false in doctrine.

The papal office is a continuation of the role of Romes ancient Caesar. Their college of cardinals is the continuation of the Roman Senate.

Rome and Constantine imagined their politic and culture able to re the world for eternity. The Romans Catholic Church is how they did it.

Until the protest. Praise God and truth. Amen.
Is this a real thing or no.
I mean the Catholic Church was the main church for 1,000 years and spirit led and they teach this but it's not in the protestant bible but in their catholic bible. How do we know which teaching from what books are correct.

I saw that the pope said that there were multiple ways to heaven for different faiths including Muslims at an interfaith conference in Singapore… I don’t know if this was a slip of the tongue or he’s truly lost it or never had it but it’s quite astounding
We should pray for the pope.!

Heaven is sometimes depicted as a mountain with any number of roads
around the base heading towards the top. Well; conventional Christianity
accepts only one of those roads makes it; viz: the rest are dead ends, loops,
terraces, circles, and cul-de-sacs, i.e. no outlets and nowhere to go except
round and around or back down the mountain.

Hell is depicted as a colossal pit, deep and wide, with many roads around the
rim heading towards the bottom. Well; conventional Christianity accepts that
every one of those roads eventually merge into one big super expressway to
the bottom.

Matt 7:13-14 . . Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to
destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the
road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

FAQ: What number might the quantity "many" represent?

REPLY: According to my sources, as of mid 2020 there were approximately:

50,000 . . . . . . . . Scientologists
16,500,000 . . . . .Mormons
8,200,000 . . . . . .Practicing Jehovah's Witnesses
8,531,000 . . . . . .Baha'i
545,584,000 . . . .Buddhists
468,411,000 . . . .Chinese Folk Religionists
8,606,000 . . . . . .Confucianists
269,498,000 . . . .Ethnic Religionists
1,062,595,000 . . .Hindus
6,135,000 . . . . . .Jains
14,779,000 . . . . .Jews
1,893,345,000 . . Muslims
64,549,000 . . . . .New Religionists
2,788,000 . . . . . .Shintoists
28,000,000 . . . . .Sikhs
14,851,000 . . . . .Spiritists
9,078,000 . . . . . .Taoists
1,757,433,000 . . .Non Religious/Atheists/Agnostics

The grand total of just those categories is 5,710,522,000

If those figures are in the ball park, and if conventional Christianity is the
reality; then at least 72.4% of the earth's 2020 population of 7,887,001,292
people were on a road to the wrong side of things.

Eph 4:4-5 . .There is one faith.

He's the first Jesuit elected to the office and he's an ecumenist.

As I recall he also said atheists can see heaven. This after a grieving little boy asked if his atheist daddy who recently died went to Hell. :( Poor little guy. It's hard to lose your daddy at a young age.

The message of Salvation in the Orthodox Church is the theology of Theosis which is a non-static co-operative relationship with God and only God knows if we are going to be with Him or away from Him on judgment day.
Some light reading here:

What about Galatians 1?

6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

My understanding is that it's more about our hearts rather than denominations.

Many denominations must be teaching some very wrong doctrines though.

Something has drawn me to orthodox so will look into it.

I 100% agree with you on the part i highlighted in bold, which is the essence of what the Bible teaches ... i think.
It's all about the internal spirit. Our outward worship may vary from culture to culture but it's the heart that matters.

We should pray for the pope.!
The Pope is a politician and God is a side-hobby for that position usually.
This phenomenon exists in the Orthodox Church too with some of these high level leaders whose heads get too big from their positions.
The leader of the Orthodox Church in Russia blessed Putin's war in Ukraine when it started.
The rest of the Churches sent him letters to reconsider but he didn't listen. So he's another politician too.

People's heads get too big sometimes when they become leaders instead of showing more humility.

How do you decide who to pray for?
[1Jo 5:16 KJV] 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin [which is] not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

There's a movie called purgatory. it's a western. I liked it. Good movie.

That said, the very reason for Luther's reformation movement and the birth of Protestantism was Purgatory.
And it goes a bit beyond that even. The previous Pope was a "Party animal", and had largely bankrupted the treasury, and Leo 10 in order to restore finances, and Johann Tetzel (The "Grand commissioner of Indulgences" for Germany) , set out to make money through FEAR (Typical Catholic) and the sale of indulgences: (The coins clink in, and the souls fly out).

Of Course, for anybody looking at it with Biblical understanding and intelligence, OBVIOUSLY made "Purgatory a "Cash Cow", which had nothing to do with "Cleansing from impurities" at all. It was Just another Catholic racket that Luther saw through in a second..

purgatory isn't in the catholic Bible.
we have the same Bible.
Roman Catholic HERETICS, however, have created an entire HERETICAL DOCTINE about post-mortem purification, even though Biblically the concept is RIDICULOUS, and blasphemous against the actual sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

So what is this really mean? Say you’re a Roman Catholic and you do believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior but you’re also following a bunch of man-made fake doctrines…

Catholic Church is corrupt to the core and was back in the day. I don't want to accuse someone who claims Christ as their redeemer. Because when they do, there is a chance. Always.

Though those things about the Catholic Church are true. Then again, take all religions for example, and you will repeatedly find that any religious institution fails morally and in so many other ways. Speaking from a historical standpoint, religions are the cause many suffer, feel rejection, kill each other and dehumanize other human beings for not believing like they do. To the extent that what they do becomes murder. Christ never preached that.

Example: The Catholic Protestant war that led to the bloodshed of so many lives. In the name of Jesus?? God never wanted that.

I think there are millions and millions of orthodox and Catholics who love Jesus with their heart.
