Or was that a desert? Was it a mountain, I need look it up.

But anyway, I do not believe Jesus was lusting after anything, not ever. I do not believe he was tempted because of he's lusts. But we know in one of the letters in the new testiment, that it says we are tempted by our own lusts. So what I am thinking, is I did not understand what it said. Maybe it says, we fall for temptation because of our own lusts.
the same Greek word means "tested"

God cannot be "tempted" - He was tested in the wilderness, and thereby proven perfect.

For anyone to impugn God's character with accusations of neglect of lack of love is......EVIL.
And yet God is longsuffering and loving to the end.
I think this could be, because, they are lying.

I wanted to comment, that I had denied God this one time. Then, I realized, that I did believe in God, but I was lying about it. That is what I said to God, then suddenly in that moment the things that where comming against me, turned around for me.

When we are fallen we are tempted by our own lusts.
When someone is sinless, their flesh will not lust.

Fallen people are tempted by their own lusts. It's inward temptation.
The only thing that can tempt the sinless must come from the outside.
That external influence is not sin, but its evil.

Adam had no sin nature to tempt himself from within.
It was Satan who externally brought on Adam's demise.
Satan was on the outside, and was evil.

Deu 6:16
“You shall not tempt the LORD your God as you tempted Him in Massah.
Mat 4:7
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' ”

What is being said here is that you will not put the LORD thy God.....ON TRIAL.
What we think of as "tempted" has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

Come to think of it, this was ultimately the sin of Job.

I do not see this was ultimately the sin of Job, when God stated to Satan look at my servant Job, he is upright and well.
I see job believes,ed, God. And Satan said oh yeah, allow me to upset his life, and we see in the first chapter what Satan did. Job continued in beleif as I see it, when I have read it, to me at least. Thanks

First off, many Christians don't know it is not a sin to be tempted. It becomes sin when you are a willful participant of the temptation .

Lust is an issue of one's heart. You are not tempted with lust. It is because you have lust in your heart that causes you to be tempted and willfully participate, which is a sin.

IN the temptation of our Lord when read in the gospels Nothing Jesus was tempted by came from his own mind it states Satan said

If you be the Son of God make these stones to bread
If you be the Son of God, jump from this pinnacle.
If you bow down and worship me

The temptation of our Lord appealed to things of the flesh and mind that came to Jesus from the devil not of His lust.

Many fight a battle not to be tempted; sorry to tell, All will be tempted. it is Christ in us who leads us through the temptation with the word of God and the Holy Spirit, not to be overtaken by the temptation that leads to sin, but to overcome it as HE did.

Disagree. Job was doing a sinful thing similar to what the children of Israel were doing.
But the children of Israel were doing it far too often and far too long.

Num 14:22
Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

Exo 17:7
And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, *****Is the LORD among us, or not?*****

The ordeal may have revealed sin in Job, but the test was whether or not he would curse God. This he never did.

But yes I agree that Job continued in belief. But he did put his God on trial just the same.

Most of us do it. Belief yes. Then come the trials upon us. And then we put God on trial.

Some souls are blissfully exempt though, of that I am convinced. Even though I have never met any lol.

Agree. The text always declares that Job maintained his integrity.

Ultimately Job believed that his God was good. Same goes for Adam.

Don't confuse him too much, please...

With Job? Satan wanted to prove a point, using Job as his evidence....

In essence..
Satan was telling the Lord.

"You make Job suffer like you made me suffer (in God's desire to get Lucifer to repent).
And, Job will do just like I did! He will curse you to your face!

But?

Job refused to curse God to His face,. That left Lucifer dangling with a 'guilty verdict' remaining hanging around his neck.

Satan was trying to get himself excused from his evil towards God. which Satan had been proclaiming his innocence
before all the angels..
"If God made you suffer like He made me suffer!
You all would have also cursed Him to His face!"

Satan had been using that excuse to feel self justified before all the angels...
Job became God's tool to pry that self justification placard out of Satan's grip.

What many still fail to see.
There is a court case going between Satan and God.
We were called to be witnesses for God.

In Christ!

Satan was trying to get himself excused from his evil towards God.
Satan was trying to prove that GOD was evil. Therefore excusing himself.

Satan is ALWAYS accusing God of being the ultimate source and origin of evil.
That was the deception in the garden of Eden. And the Woman "fell to her death" by believing him.

how did Satan suffer?

that doesn't make any sense.
Satan did not choose sin because of unjust, capricious suffering, but was judged for his sin, and you could only argue he suffered the judgement righteously due to him - which in fact, God mercifully gives him time instead of wiping him out immediately.

is Satan daring God to punish Job for Job's sin? absolutely not. Job is brought into the conversation by God because of Job's faithfulness, which is counted as righteousness - a direct contrast to Satan. so Satan and Job do not have the similarity of circumstances you are claiming.

what you are saying does not make sense. but then, you have me on ignore because i pointed out you weren't making sense on another topic, and you can't abide being told that, correct?

We were called to be witnesses for God.
Job is evidence, not a witness.

remember Elihu's and God's testimony against Job: he spoke without knowledge.

speaking of things you know nothing about is not the testimony of a witness.

If someone has you on ignore, yet you still ask them a question, is that the ultimate in rhetorical questions?

Angels are called "sons of God."
For, they are sons of God!

Hebrews 12:6
For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”

You think God got offended like a prissy legalist, and simply kicked Lucifer out?
God wanted the angels who were in the process of rejecting Him to repent.
