You may not be understanding the actual issue. It isn't whether or not he was invited to be there. If after being invited, he'd gone and spent time with the family at the cemetery, we wouldn't even be talking about it.

The issue is that he and his campaign staff went to the cemetery, took photos and video, and then used them for his campaign, which is expressly prohibited by federal law. Not only that, but his campaign staff shoved a cemetery worker. Plus, everyone was told beforehand about how using Arlington National Cemetery for political campaigns is illegal, yet they plowed ahead and did it anyway.

It's sad that the impression I've gotten from Trump supporters is along the lines of "so what" or "who cares", which brings me back to the question posed in this thread. Unfortunately, it looks like the answer for some of you is "nothing".
Thank you, feels like banging my head against the wall.

If we cannot see the shortcomings of even those we support ( I am not a Trump supporter, nor a Biden supporter) then it is purely making an idol of that politician/leader.

"so what" or "who cares",
It harder and harder to defend the indefensible.

That is my view and I am sticking with it!!!

Since Trump has not crossed any lines, this is simply a straw man.
Huh. Does that mean adultery, fornication, greed, love of money, committing fraud, sexual assault, lying, and the line are not "lines" for you?

It's pretty evident that for some here, Trump can never ever do or be wrong. He can only be wronged.

A lot of folks have said that at times it seems very cult-like. I'm starting to agree (at least in some cases).

Kommiela criticized Trump for "surrendering to his advisors" about muted mics. I guess her advisors are just for show then? Isn't that what you have advisors for? To tell you when you are being full of crap?

Americans asked for muted mics because we don't trust anyone to act like an adult in the debate platform (including the moderators). Ikd what she's trying to prove.

Lets hope for another 5 points out of this buddy.
And don't forget, there is always ANOTHER 6 bonus points for Trump on election day.

Mountain out of a mole hill.

in other words - u.s. politics as usual.

He didn't get 13 soldiers and who knows how many citizens killed. He didn't leave billions of dollars of weapons behind for the enemy to use and have an actual parade to show they're gaining power. Only God knows what happened to the Christians in that country. Nah, I say the blame is in the right place, right at Biden/ Harris' feet.
And the beat goes on -

It is absolutely worrisome how he gets a pass over and over again by his followers, both the very significant and the lesser significant.

It is cultic.
