Jesus was Crucified. There were plenty unsaved and not found in the Book of Life people who obeyed the Command and Purpose of God to kill Jesus.

Jesus didn't just use His carpenter skills and make a cross and then nailed Himself to it.

Actually it is a commandment in the New Covenant Scripture.

If we pick apart the word Paul used, it can have the sense of "don't be deficient" in prayer.

NKJ 1 Corinthians 14:37 If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.
  • At times Paul made it clear that he was giving our Lord's commands
NKJ 1 Corinthians 7:25 Now concerning virgins: I have no commandment from the Lord; yet I give judgment as one whom the Lord in His mercy has made trustworthy.
  • At other times Paul made it clear that he had no command from the Lord so was functioning in his Apostolic role and judgment.
NKJ 1 Thessalonians 4:2 for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
  • In 1Thess Paul says he gave commands through the Lord Jesus
Some of these words have some range, but that range does include "commandments"

If God believed they couldn't, he would be foolish to think they would. Yes, would and could are different. If something would be done, that means it could be done. But that something could be done, does not mean it would be done. As usual, you definitions of English words are way off.

Well okay, but I still think prayer is an act of loving obedience and a privilege for a child of God. :)

The reason only the elect whose names are written in the book of life ultimately obey God is, that only the elect ultimately ever love God.

Come to think of it, Satan, Pilate, Satan-Judas and the Jewish elite were in fact doing the will of God in DELIVERING Jesus to the cross (it is impossible to deceive God of course). And at the same time doing their OWN will too.

Evidently omniscience and being outside of time has its advantages.

I agree with you. I think it's a privilege and an honor to be His son and to be in Christ in Spirit and be able to be in growing, loving obedience to Him. Actually, since prayer is commanded, it is loving obedience to pray.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. (1 Jn. 5:3 NKJ)
 
The biggest sign someone has non-elect tendencies is that they think God's commandments are too burdensome.

Are you the type of person when someone first is saved and begins the long process of becoming a new man that condemns them for each little mistake they make along their journey?

You seem very legalistic.

No one who truly follows God practices the level of legalism like you are promoting.
