Yes, it should have been thrown out of court to begin with.

Trump Found Guilty – a Travesty of Justice for America
https://mishtalk.com/politics/trump-found-guilty-a-travesty-of-justice-for-america/

Trump was found guilty of a crime, but can anyone say what it is? Prosecutorial misconduct is dripping. It’s the judge, not Trump who belongs in prison.

The Wall Street Journal Editorial Boards discusses A Guilty Verdict for Trump and Its Consequences for the Country

Twelve New York jurors have found Donald Trump guilty of falsifying business records, a total of 34 felony counts, in history’s first criminal conviction of a former President.
What crime was that? Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg eventually settled on a New York election law, rarely enforced, that prohibits conspiracies to promote political candidates “by unlawful means.”
Yet what “unlawful means” did this alleged conspiracy use? The DA’s argument was that there were three: First, the hush money was effectively an illegally large donation to Mr. Trump’s campaign. Second, more business filings were falsified, including bank records for Mr. Cohen’s wire transfer to Ms. Daniels. Third, false statements were made to tax authorities, since Mr. Trump’s repayment of Mr. Cohen was structured as income and “grossed up” to cover the taxes he would need to pay on it.
Did Mr. Trump falsify business records in 2017 to cover up an illegal conspiracy to elect him in 2016, whose unlawful means included false information in Mr. Cohen’s tax return for 2017?
A help to Mr. Bragg’s prosecution is that the jurors were instructed that as long as they were unanimous that Mr. Trump was guilty of falsifying business records to aid or cover up an illegal conspiracy to get him elected, they didn’t all have to agree about which theory of the “unlawful means”. [Mish: Please read this paragraph over and over.]
The conviction sets a precedent of using legal cases, no matter how sketchy, to try to knock out political opponents, including former Presidents. Mr. Trump has already vowed to return the favor. If Democrats felt like cheering Thursday when the guilty verdict was read, they should think again. Mr. Bragg might have opened a new destabilizing era of American politics, and no one can say how it will end.
No Need to Be Unanimous

One scenario would be for one or more red states, like Texas, Tennessee, Florida, etc.. to refuse to comply with evil democrat policies, and federal troops were sent in to try and force compliance.

Yes I can see this happening, it seems like it would be a real mess with a lot of different factions.

Having stated this, I think the federal government has the ability if it wants to squelch any uprising eventually since it is aligned the factories the make the weapons, AI, drones etc.,

The uprising is the best way to initiate a military state which is where I think the USA is headed, as they develop their technology where they will not need humans to exert control, they will have AI/robots for the job.

Maybe it will go this way, and yet I am kinda of surprised it has not already happened, which makes think God is thwarting their plans.

NY is between a rock and a hard place. The judgments against Trump can easily be used against any wealthy person and so they are fleeing. As a result tax revenue is down just as the expenses for being a "sanctuary city" are skyrocketing.

350 million guns in this country. How many will continue to follow orders from the Federal government when they lose credibility and trust.

The Federal governments weapons are of "mass destruction". They don't have the manpower to go house to house when these homes are being defended with guns.

I think what I stated is when the "authorities" reach a place where they no longer need human soldiers, it will not matter how many guns are owned by the citizens.

Do citizens have drones that carry weapons?
Do citizens have robots/AI?
Do citizens control the food supply, energy etc.,?

I cannot see a civil war fought on the ground.

The CEO of companies/the rich are the government, this also happened a long time ago

Yes we kind of have a society and government built on the trust that people will generally behave rationally, lawfully and with some basic goodness.

So what happens when 30% of the population decides to become irrational lawbreakers without respect for their neighborsor the rule of law?

We are marching toward becoming yet another ultra right-wing nationalist dictatorship.

Gloating over the victory of a "show" trial. :cautious:
Show trials are disgusting.

I think 30% is a gross exaggeration, I think at present Biden only has about 17% support.

Ezekiel 25:6 For thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel; 7 Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

How can you possibly say this as the left and democrats have over and over displayed fascist and tyrannical behavior the past half decade or more!!?

I heard something very funny today, brought a nice smile. Joy Reid said that "as someone who has often criticized the justice system this is the one time they got it right".

It reminded me how much the left complains about the justice system, and yet now they are claiming that you have to salute the justice system in this one instance.

I guess you will have to pin your hopes on the Weekend at Bernie's ghoulish cadaver and his vampiric cohort to do battle with Russia, Iran and China.

America's enemies are not blind to the extreme impotency, fragility, corruption and sheer incompetence of the present regime.
Iran has stated on the record that they need do nothing but stand back and watch as America self-destructs.
Too bad so sad.
I wish Mitt Romney were running.

This being the fact of the matter, I must endeavor to stifle my shrill critique. It's just not doing any good.

My prayers go out to Trump in his travails and the Bidens for repentance.
The lake of fire is a terrible destination. I pray they both open their hand and receive their acquittal by the work accomplished on their behalf by the risen Lord.
At first people are on here saying they are voting for a president not a preacher, now they are trying to say that since you don’t want Trump, now this Is spiritual, when before It was “Yea Trump Is a liar but I’m not voting for a preacher I’m voting for a president”😂
