For me who is still on this side, i would like to stay blue-pilled on certain things.
Today in our Bible meeting we were talking about the various interpretations of Christianity and the priest mentioned so many names for which i have no clue about and neither i'm interested to know.
Like, evangelists, Baptists, dispensationalists, depravity or whatever that means, cessationalists and a lot of other ISTs for which i have no clue about what they are, what they do and where they come from.
I think that this is typical western thought process where you are defined by something and you give a new synonym to your belief which is based on some common root word.
So, that's all i'm going to take from this subject and i will stay happily in my blue pill because i don't need to know what you call yourself after you read a verse or a paragraph.
As i've mentioned before i don't classify these denominations or ideas as right or wrong, but as a way for a group of people or an individual to reach God in their own journey.
I'm interested. May I ask why you looked up and awakened this old thread? Personally, I think it could make for very interesting conversation if people can stand to actually consider what another says without trying to shut it down or go down a rabbit hole so deep that nothing can steer it back to its intentions
Personally, I would choose the red pill.

Hi Niki, i agree with you that when people don't talk over each other and are not entrenched in camps and have an open mind they might be able to understand each other but the fact of life is that some people will never be able to understand each-other, that's why wars escalate which is the final expression of disagreement.
I awakened this old thread because i first search for an existing topic in the forum before i create a new one.
It's sort of an old habit of mine which comes from my job instincts (i work in IT). If something exists already, don't duplicate it but continue it.
So, the reason this came to my mind is because of a few other discussions in the forum by a few different members who mentioned the word 'red pill'. GaryA has said it a few times himself.
So, with that being said, i actually favor The Blue Pill, but i favor this now because i've had a long journey in the Red Pill (i'd like to think) so now i don't want any knowledge or wisdom, i want God to take me into an angelic state and keep me there forever.
I don't know how the details are going to be worked out, but i do appreciate the Blue Pill more now from this point of view where i am in my life.

I don't believe that at all.
I just gotta shake my head in amazement at what you say here. Jesus obeyed the government of the day...Romans...while setting an example of what obedience to God actually was. He made zero effort to overthrow anything save the devil who up until that time, ran rampant over humanity.
I also do not believe you are exactly that well acquainted with communism. The actual thing and not the shade of pale painted by some in this country
In what country is communism actuated in the above manner?

OK ~ thanks for answering me in a succint way. I was raised on the blue pill but questionning and even circumstance, led me to the red pill.
Having been semi-lulled to sleep (and no reflection on you here) the red pill was a rude poke in the ribs which I prefer to being comfortable in something that eventually will reveal itself to be an illusion anyway. I am not a pessimist but I've seen more than many and occasionally wish I did not actually know some of what I know. However, that would be offerings from the blue pill side of things so......(shrugs)
I am disapponted to see the deterioration into politics in this thread...don't we have enough of those threads already?

Hey @Niki7 , the derailing of topics is another fact of life which i have made peace with (in forums or real life), so it doesn't even register on my radar as a problem.
But you did mention the meaning of the pills which i think would be interesting to discuss.
I see the Blue Pill as Bliss and the Red pill as Knowledge and Wisdom.
The names are taken from the movie Matrix but in reality, more knowledge or wisdom can be harmful, i think, which is why The Blue Pill would be more favorable.
Sort of like being in a child-like state, where Jesus Christ said wants us to be.
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. "

I am bothered by the derailments because it is just another indicator of people either not being polite to those who take the time and effort to start a thread or people who cannot focus long enough to benefit from an actual discussion....of course there are times that a detour can be fine....but a detour leads back to the original intent....like a road detour that still brings you back to your destination

About derailments ... maybe those people are in bliss.
For example, i have a meeting with the telecom group about an executive whose cell phone needs an international plan and they ask me for his phone number so they can do the work. The telecom group is asking me this, the ones who created the number.
Or, when they have a meeting, they derail and talk about construction on the road.
So now we have a difficult choice to make. Do we fire all these people from these jobs in a world where people can't stay on-point anymore or do we let things go because it's outside of our hands?
It's also one of the reasons why i respect Elon Musk because he is a hard worker and used to work 20 hours a day on front of his computer, so his work ethic and requirements are very high. So, it was a sense of relief when he fired more than half the woke staff from Twitter, but we don't have the resources of Elon Musk to do this before we even consider it to do it.
I do like your butterfly and lap analogy though and it's also why i don't consider Christian denominations as right or wrong but as a way of expressing their love and understanding for God while taking into consideration all the cultural and historical baggage that comes with each region of the world.
