 ... no it doesn't. The unbelief of mankind does not in any way, shape, or form cause any failure on the part of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The offering of the Lord Jesus Christ is more than sufficient to cover all the sin of all mankind ... all Adam's descendants.

That some reject that which God has so graciously provided does not mean "Christ's Death failed !"

 ... you speak out of both sides of your mouth, brightfame52.

On the one hand you state: God delivers "from bondage, and captivity to sin, which unbelief/disobedience is"

and on the other hand you state: "those He died for do not have to believe it, accept itor do anything but continue being ungodly sinners"

so, are we delivered "from bondage, and captivity to sin, which unbelief/disobedience is"? ...

or can we reject God because we "do not have to believe it, accept itor do anything but continue being ungodly sinners"?

What Jesus told the believing Jews in the presence of the unbelieving Jews:

John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

then the unbelieving Jews started arguing with Jesus and Jesus made the statement "if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed".

stop with your lie that the Lord Jesus Christ failed or that the purpose of God failed.

Here's what Jesus said in John 8:24, brightfame52:

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

So the One Who died for the whole world also said if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.

What the Lord Jesus Christ did not say is "if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins and My death failed the purpose of God" as you claim. So just stop with your outrageous lies about the Lord Jesus Christ and the purpose of God.

I did. Your pride wouldn't let you not respond.

While you are largely correct doctrinally, your presentation leads people to miss your message because they reject the messenger.

I don't mean this criticism destructively. But apart from love we are all just clanging cymbals.
Makes for a lot of noise...

"those God so Loved" ...

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

lie of the adversary ...

 ... the false teacher is the one who claims "Christ's death came to nought, it was defeated"

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
.
The Truth is however that those God so Loved and gave His Only Begotten in behalf of, it was for the purpose of effecting or giving them Life, that they may live [Spiritually unto God] through or because of Him.

I think we are on the same page.
yup ... and I appreciate your thoughts on God's sovereignty ... "His sovereignty is more pronounced that He is able to accomplish all of His will and plans even in the face of man’s freedom to choose" ... reminds me of records in Scripture where God uses negative circumstances to bring about His purposes ... or all the prophecies that were fulfilled at the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ ... even His crucifixion taking place at the appointed time (Passover) ... and the promise of the Father on day of Pentecost ... amazing!!!

His death must cause or give life !2

Those Jesus Christ died for are purposed to live through or because of Him, because of Gods so great of Love for them. This Truth is confirmed in Eph 2:4-5

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ
, (by grace ye are saved )

Because of His Great Love wherewith He so Loved us Jn 3:16, even as and when we were dead sinners, He quickened us [The church] togehter with Christ, meaning gave us Life. See that word quickened syzōopoieō means:

  1. to make one alive together
    1. to cause to live, make alive, give life

This is how and why we live through Him as stated in 1 Jn 4:9

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
Also lets read Peters Testimony of the same thing in 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Thats because as Paul wrote " hath quickened us together with Christ" Eph 2:5 !

Now the word BY in 1 Pet 1:3 and the word through in 1 Jn 4:9, they're the same word, the prep dia which means:
      1. the ground or reason by which something is or is not done
        1. by reason of
        2. on account of
        3. because of for this reason
        4. therefore
        5. on this account

We Live [Spiritually] on account of Christ ! 49

The Atonement: What did it REALLY Accomplish?

It accomplished the full salvation of all for whom it was for. Jesus said in His expiring moments these words Jn 19:30

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

In other words, something was finished, accomplished, performed. What exactly was it ? It was the saving of His People from their sins as predicted here Matt 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

His death of atonement actually saved His People from their sins! None for whom He died can be lost ! 51

Christ's death produces life, salvation.

Antichrist religion doesnt believe this nor understand it, that Christ's death produces salvation fruit, the conversion of souls, its how He is Glorified ! Jesus said when close to the time of His death Jn 12:23-24

23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Jesus here is describing how the Son of Man should be Glorified Vs 23. He is the corn of wheat in Vs 24 and He states what happens if it dies, signifying His death !

His death brings forth fruit, the fruit of salvation, the fruit of new life. Its just like when a farmer sows a seed of corn in the ground, what happens ? It brings forth fruit, life. The words bring forth in Vs 24 literally means to produce [to bring into existence; give rise to; cause:]

The New Birth is the result, product of Christ's death, hence believers are said to have been begotten again by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

The resurrection of Christ displays the fruit of His death, Life ! So those of us who are Truly Born again have Christ's death to Thank for that ! Our New birth is the fruit of His death !

Those false teachers who teach that Christ died for people who never are born again, do Christ's death a disservice, a injury, insult and injustice !

Makes us Righteous, Law Keepers !

Everyone Christ lived and died for, by it, were made righteous, or keepers/doers of the law. Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Now Christ's obedience started from the cradle to the cross, to include the cross Phil 2:8 and that made those He represented righteous. That word righteous in Rom 5:19 is the greek word dikaios: and means:

just; especially, just in the eyes of God; righteous; the elect, in a wide sense, upright, righteous, virtuous, keeping [or obedience to] the commands of God;

You see, all the obedience man owed to the law of God, Christ rendered it to Gods Law for the many He represented Rom 5:19. So in truth and fact, those Christ lived and died for are those who Paul writes of here Rom 2:13

(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

The doers of the law ! And whats the promise unto the doers of the law ? They shall be Justified !

The word justified in this verse is the greek word dikaioō

  1. to declare, pronounce, one to be just, righteous, or such as he ought to be

It comes from the word dikaios, the word for righteous in Rom 5:19

All for whom Christ lived and died are automatically become doers of the Law. What God did, God imputed Christ's obedience to the law for all the many He was a Surety representative in behalf of Rom 5:19, He charged it to their account, so they have received, they incognizant of it, a righteousness charged to their account that has fully obeyed Gods Law as fully as Christ did while He was living upon the earth.

This is a Truth that cannot be believed by false religion !

It makes us dead to the law !

Paul wrote to the believers in Rome these words Rom 7:4

4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

How does one become dead to the Law ? Simple, it happens for all whom Christ died. Everyone Christ died for became dead to the law by that simple fact alone, His death. It did not happen when they repented and or believed in Jesus, it occured before that, in fact it happened before they were even born sinners. All sinners Christ died for are born into this world as sinners but dead to the law, meaning the law of God cannot charge them with any sins against God ! For sin is transgression of the law 1 Jn 3:4

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1 Cor 15:56

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Thats right, every sinner Christ died for, and who by nature is walking like this Eph 2:2-3

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

They are dead to the Law, they cannot by God be charged with any transgressions against it whatsoever. This Truth cannot be received by the lost religionist !

Christ death alone accomplished this, it makes every sinner it was for, dead to the law !

Fulfilled in us the righteousness of the law !

Rom 8:3-4

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For all men who were blessed to have Christ as their Surety, when He lived and died in their stead, the righteousness of the law was fulfilled in them. This is by imputation, all of the moral requirements of righteousness due unto God by man, to be summed up here Matt 22:37-39

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Paul wrote in Rom 13:8-10

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

The Life and death of Christ has fulfilled this love required to the law.

Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Christ's obedience to the Law of God, both active and passive is imputed to all for whom He lived and died. So He being their surety savior is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. He as their surety is also the author of their believing, for they first believed in and by Him, His obedience to the Law for them was also by Faith, because without Faith its impossible to please God Heb 11:6 which Christ did please God as our surety here on earth , rendering complete obedience to Gods law ! Isa 42:21

21 The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable. 52

It blesses us by turning us from our sins !

Thats what Christ's Death accomplished, it turns everyone for whom He died from their sins and effects an at one ment with God !

Acts 3:25-26

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Yes, the Death of Christ accomplished the atonement, it brings all for whom it was for into fellowship with God, else it was not a complete blessing, and failed the purpose of God.

The words turning away above are the greek words apo strephō and means:

  1. to turn away
    1. to remove anything from anyone
    2. to turn him away from allegiance to any one, to turn away or back (literally or figuratively):—bring again,

Its the same as Isaiah foretold here Isa 49:6
to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
and to restore the preserved of Israel:

That word restore shuwb alse means to:
      1. to bring back,
      2. to return, turn back

The word strepho also means to :

        1. metaph. to turn one's self from one's course of conduct, i.e. to change one's mind, convert

Its the word Jesus used in Matt 18:3

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

So Jesus death accomplished our conversion to God if He died for us !

Five things the death of Christ accomplished for all whom He died!

#1. All for whom Christ died have been made righteous by imputed righteousness Rom 5:19; 2 Cor 5:21; Rom 4:6

#2. All for whom Christ died have had their sins put away before God's law and Justice Jn 1:29; 2Cor 5:19; Dan 9:24; Col 2:14

#3. The death of Christ accomplished for all whom He died, A freedom from the guilt/punishment of sins Heb 1:3

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

The word for purged katharismos means:

A *cleansing from the guilt of sins! And that is why for them sins can't be imputed or charged to them, for that would reverse what Christ death had done/accomplished. 53
