Would Jesus drink Alcohol?

That is an excellent point worth considering. I wonder if most of the people who can't imagine Jesus drinking wine in moderation have had bad experiences with alcohol like you describe, maybe an alcoholic parent or a culture where wine is never taken in moderation?

I grew up in a home where my parents often had a small glass of wine with dinner, but they were never even close to drunk. Perhaps if I had grown up on the other side of the coin (overindulging, abuse, etc.), I might be more reluctant to believe Jesus would/could have imbibed.

You are not alone.

Some like to quote Isaiah's famous...Isaiah 28:10
But they do not know what its about...

Why was that mentioned in the footnotes ? ........... "Meaningless sounds?"

Israel at that time was filled with alcoholics! Drunks.
They were a mess, and it appeared they were about to be destroyed by an invading army surrounding the city.

Isaiah was mocking the speaking of the drunks!
Its sloppy slurring Hebrew!
Its not how the Hebrew would be normally written.

Some translators can not figure that out...

I think you can understand...

The Bible covers all problems known in life.
Isaiah taught daily at the city walls and brought a Word of God revival to Israel and it turned the nation around.

But, Isaiah hit them in the gut right where they were at.
God's messengers can and should get that way when its called for....
Its not all to be sweetness and light as some preachers present it to be...

My MOm's boyfriend (after divorce) was a drunkard. Imagine the stories I can tell. One night I woke up to a bomb fire in the living room.

Dear goodness, I can't imagine growing up like that and not having it affect your view of alcohol. How did you overcome it, if you don't mind me asking?

And Genez, is your testimony posted anywhere here? If so I would like to read it 🙂.

My real Father taught me to observe others to lean from their mistakes.
Once, I was what was going on, I decided to avoid that mess when I was on my own.

Testimony about what?
Why I take my position about drinking?

I rented a house with alcoholic who is a relative.... It was not a good experience.
But, why should that make me want to reject the Word of God?

Testimony on how you came to Jesus. I remember a few pages back you said you were raised Jewish. I just figured it would be a neat story, but no pressure!

And of course, no experience is an excuse for anyone to reject the word of God!

Some people do have more trouble overcoming emotions than you do though, only because we are all different......those are the ones that I was thinking of. 🙂

On the Dad's side, I was in LDS Fundamentalist cult. One of my Mothers was Jewish, I attended Temple School to become a Rabbi someday. When my Dad was murdered in 1993 going after his 18th wife. I became the prophet and disbanded the cult. I also, shared who the real Jesus is, many came to him that day. I said, this is the last photetic mesage, there will not be any prophets after me. I told them not to marry their sisters, go out and live a normal life.

I find Christians that place their experiences first above the Word of God?
The Word says one thing, and their feelings run contrary?

They get angry when shown the truth and refuse to repent?

What it amounts to?

I believe they are angry with God for allowing the experience in their life.
Their rejection of the Word of God is done in their anger and denial.

As a result?
They end up denying God instead of denying self as Jesus said it would be needed to follow Him.

Then Jesus said unto His disciples, “If any man will come after Me,
let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me." Matthew 16:24

As a result of their denial? They will be denied by God.
They will be denied their rewards in the Resurrection evaluation. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15.

Its not just wine that people drink here, beer and spirits are also very popular in my region at least. We Hungarians are the all alcoholers of Europe. And in my opinion wine is the best alcohol.

FYI ............. Beer normally has hops added.
Beer without hops was the original ancient mix.

Word has it that the Church during the dark ages had hops added to the beer as to sedate the beer drinkers in taverns.
Without the hops, there were too many rowdy moments and taverns could be torn up. By adding hops with its sedative
effects? It tended to temper things down to an acceptable level. Problem solved (so it seems).

Problem is?

Hops are estrogenic. Its not beer belly, but estrogen belly that men develop, and women have their own assortment
of potential problems.

The beer industry is now covering up with "damage control" where it can on the Internet.
