Folks - don't let yourselves be "inflamed" by other people's opinions - and then post out of reaction. Instead - think for a while - and, look for the intelligent response - and, post that.
Who is to say that it has been debunked?
You think that video is real? Who is really gullible? You know we have video of the earth from outer space... when one can clearly see the earth is as round as a bowling ball.
Those that think it's flat are not very bright and quite gullible to!

What you refer to as "can clearly see" actually translates to "believes the propaganda" when you watch the video. You know we have video of the earth from outer space... when one can clearly see the earth is as round as a bowling ball.
I understand the sentiment. My post was primarily facetious, but it underscores something about this site: you can put another poster on 'Ignore' but that doesn't stop 'me' from responding further to 'their' posts. We all lose.

Wow. Personally, I think you should be banned for the above. I knew you struggled with basic physics, but I see that basic decency and respect are far outside your capacity as well.
It's a personal opinion, as I said. No, his post unfortunately does not contravene the site rules.
The implication of a link between belief in heliocentrism and support of abortion is disgusting, despicable and demeaning. It's also baseless and ridiculous, but that's beside the point.
Yeah, right...My post was primarily facetious
That would kinda make you a troll then - would it not - causing all of that needless uproar for nothing...?
I did not say that - it is your faulty reasoning that comes up with such as that.Yeah yeah, we know dude - those that don't believe the earth is flat are "trolls"![]()
I have posted "I win!" several times when someone announces that they are putting me on Ignore. If I sought to have people do that, I would indeed be a troll, at least in that.Yeah, right...

I noticed that you changed it - which you are entitled to, of course, within the 5 minute limit - but, my point is - that you are moving in the direction of troll-like behavior yourself with the 'insults'.Yeah yeah, we know dude - those that don't have low enough intelligence to believe the earth is flat are "trolls"![]()
I will give you one thing...I have posted "I win!" several times when someone announces that they are putting me on Ignore. If I sought to have people do that, I would indeed be a troll, at least in that.
Often I carefully don't address the content of a post because the fallacies therein make the content irrelevant. There is no point in responding otherwise to fallacious arguments. I also strongly suspect that you see a very small percentage of my posts.I will give you one thing...
In my opinion - on CC - you are the 'king' of shifting the focus when replying to a post - avoiding giving a reply to a question or statement while trying to make it look like you are actually addressing it - and, totally changing the context of the reply away from that for which it is supposed to be a reply.
"Congratulations - you do it better than anyone on here."
(But, you are not fooling me.)
Actually, both positions should humble themselves and cover the others offense. The statement was offensive because it equated those who believe in a spherical earth with abortionists. But no offense needed to be taken and the sin covered.Yes - words are powerful.
But - folks need to learn/know how to "handle" those words - without getting their feelings hurt - just because of someone else's opinion.
And - that means having the 'backbone' and the 'gumption' to withstand disagreement, disharmony, discord, opposition, or objectionable ideas - while remaining calm - without reacting - without getting angry or otherwise emotionally wrapped up in it - without mud-slinging - without taking the "don't say anything I might disagree with because it might hurt me" path of ridiculousness.
These folks are not losers.
These folks are what is left of the common sense and strength of what this nation used to be.
You just might be surprised at the level of discernment that does exist with some folks - if you knew about all of the things that they decided not to post...![]()
Why are you crying, whining, and complaining? .Yes - we all lose - because, some people don't know how to have an intelligent discussion without crying, whining,
etc. - and, making a big deal about - anything-and-everything that anyone says that hurts their feelings.
I'm sure it would accomplish more if posts would keep in relevance with the thread topic.Often I carefully don't address the content of a post because the fallacies therein make the content irrelevant. There is no point in responding otherwise to fallacious arguments. I also strongly suspect that you see a very small percentage of my posts.
I sent a 'friendly' because I agree with the point you made in this post, but I have to say I don't agree that the statement was offensive "because it equated those who believe in a spherical earth with abortionists." I would say that the statement was taken to be offensive because some equated the two, though the statement itself did not do so. But somehow I think you understand this and I'm not actually correcting you on it. And I'm certainly not stirring the pot. This makes two threads I've started in all sincerity that have already been filled with irrelevant discussion.Actually, both positions should humble themselves and cover the others offense. The statement was offensive because it equated those who believe in a spherical earth with abortionists. But no offense needed to be taken and the sin covered.
On the other hand, once the offense was registered, a simple apology would have sufficed to correct the problem.
Both sides did the opposite of love. Each defended their positions rather than humble themselves. Hardly the mind of Christ.
I'm not trying to claim any moral superiority here. I'm the chiefest of sinners. But truth is truth. If we say we have no sin...the truth is not in us. We do this every time we ignore our own guilt regardless of whether another person is guilty as well.
