Why can’t i speak in tongues as a Christian
Not everyone receives the same gifts tongues is a spiritual gift

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:28-31‬ ‭

you may not speak in tongues but you have gifts meant to assist the body

Paul pointed out that no man understands the miraculous language that comes forth in one's personal prayer to God. What many fail to realize is the different forms and operation aspects of speaking in tongues. Paul addresses the distinction of tongues in personal prayer, and other tongues needing interpretation for the edification of others.

"For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." 1 Cor 14:2

You misunderstand what is beings aid:

"For he that speaketh in an foreign language speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." 1 Cor 14:2

In this situation, a translator is needed else the speaker isn't really speaking to others, but only to God because God understands all languages. There is no such "miraculous language" being discussed. What is commonly found in some churches is babble and nonsense being passed off as if it comes from God when it comes from the person themselves.

1 Corinthians 13:1-2
13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

This states "tongues of Angels" now I don't believe anyone on earth speaks Angel fluently.

There are zero examples of angels speaking a language only they understand. In every single instance, a human understood what an angel said.

Come on now, we all should know and recognize that if an angel is sent by God to appear before someone of course they're going to speak in a language that person knows, no matter what language that person speaks.

That doesn't mean that that is the Angel's primary language.

Paul specifically states that NO MAN understands the unknown tongue spoken during of one's personal interaction with God.

"For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." 1 Cor 14:2

Paul also addresses the spiritual gift of tongues and interpretation in the church setting. They are two different things.

The point is there is no such thing in the bible as an angel language that only angels understand. John heard people in heaven speaking and John understood them and I don't mean someone speaking to John, just John hearing them.

There is nothing mysterious about the verse:

"For he that speaketh in a FOREIGN LANGUAGE speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." 1 Cor 14:2

Of course no one understands a foreign language. You'd have to learn the language in order to understand what is being said, or get a translator. Same thing happens today.

ASSUMING that you've been "Born Again" of the Holy Spirit, then pray for the "Baptism in the Holy Spirit" (to use Assembly of God Vernacular), and the when a "strange language" comes into your mind, just speak it.

DON'T try to "prime the pump" by talking baby talk, or making nonsense sounds, etc. There's NOTHING to Learn, or to practice.

When God gives you a "tongue" in your mind, then just speak it.

Evidently, multilingualism is an angelic trait.

There is a distinction between tongues of men and tongues of angels. Paul's confirms this is true:

You are right there is nothing mysterious about the verse. The scripture does not say no one is present who understands the tongue. It states the tongue/language spoken is one not known to any man. Also, notice Paul says the unknown tongue/language spoken is directed to God not man.

A distinction between the two is not being made, in fact they are together as the same which they are. This is not speaking of heavenly angels but angels in the sense of human messengers who come from other lands where different languages are spoken. Most people did not travel far or at all and only knew their own language but angels/messengers would come and often speak a different language.

The point is it doesn't matter what language you are speaking if you speak without charity.

Why would anyone speak in tongues? there are far better gifts than the speaking in tongues. It was useful when it occurred, in the book of ACTS if the N.T.. People realized then that GOD or the HOLY SPIRIT was working on these who received this gift, however be careful, today it can be used to fool someone. Unless it is proven that the person did not know this language and there is someone who can interpret there is no use for this gift. it cannot edify anyone if it is of no use and honestly I do not think it would occur without a valid reason.

This is simply my opinion.

Blessings.

Sometimes the Bible uses "angel" for human beings:

ordinary people who carry messages (Job 1:14; Luke 7:24; 9:52)
prophets (Isaiah 42:19; Malachi 3:1)
priests (Malachi 2:7)
church leaders (Rev 1:20)

Luk 7:24 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

"messengers" here is the same greek word used for heavenly angels, G32 Strong's concordance. However, these messengers are human beings not "angels" in the traditional sense.
Yes nessebgers has most been akin to angels even the stars themselves are reverenced as such but if you know anything about God you know it is never that simple or single layered.

angels themselves are a breed that resemble more than the human concept or insight they are mysterious yet seemingly flawed able to sin rebel and even breed with humans yet there are also many types many different functionhs in the heavens spoken of scripture they each have roles physical appearances skills and jobs within his kingdom even the angel of death while seen as evil is not death is as prominent as liufe ying and yang if you will death and life are are one in the same with his reality they exist at the same time and no human who ever would achieve infinite life would still be dealing with death seeing their loved ones and friends perish while they don't

Angels themselves are not aingle purpose or singluar existance remember these are not humans we are talking about these are spiritualk beings created in the kingdom itself they do not abide by our understanding or sense or rule yet God does not give them redemtion like us.

If one was to consider why that is what makes us in his image even though therre are several simllaturies between us and angels would hope it would make one consider the exact mystery and depth of this all. We claim to know and have a relationship with God yet we barely have any understanding of angels a lesser bring and mystery than himself.
Because believe me if you think you know him if you think you have reached any kind of level of of understanding you do not, the deep vast mystery and wonder of his being is inticing it makes you fascinated not just hungry or seeking no he is fascinating to you you cannot claim to know him without knowing this fascination this soul groaning desire to know him so much more how you would give up your life your possessions you will itself just to know this person that is God if you don't know this you are not on the right path.

Angels are merely a crteation of himself yet they are a mystery we have little knowledge and understanding of how much more are we not understanding God himself?

Perhaps that language of the angels is what we all shall speak come the Lord's Return.

Zep 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

Show me a specific Scripture in the Bible that says angels had sex with human woman.

You don't know about the Nephilim the sons of God that took for themselves wives of men? Do you even know about the seed war established by God against satan in the gearden?

These are very basic but very vital things to understand how this all works why things are the way they are what the battle war plan present past and future has to do with from the first breath of life to the end of the story.

I would suggest you study these things

1 Corinthians 14:5 I wish that all of you could speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who
prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be edified.
