He did not say he was smart. What he said was he was the smartest person his psychiatrist had seen as a patient.
Yeah, I'm back. It's like the train wreck you can't help but look at. We seem to have a lot in common; I have traveled a lot myself, I too have fellowshipped with many people in all walks of life, with people of all denominations. Been in the mission field a tad. I'm not a follower either (that part should be obvious by now lol).
Wow, we do have a lot in common, imagine that! So we both have a heart for people, and for them to hear the Gospel.
Well, I don't have much intelligence to flaunt. I guess a lot of it is my upbringing. There were two things my parents insisted on (there were others of course) but two main things. If you lived under their roof you go to church and you vote, no questions. They told me to listen to the candidates and vote the one closest to my beliefs. Their reasoning was that people had fought and died for my right to vote. To them it was a duty but also a privilege. And they would say "there are people in the world that would love to have the rights we do". And we lived in Canada where we didn't even have free speech.
Have you listened to the Oliver Anthony song Rich Men North of Richmond? Probably? Ok. Have you seen where they cut across all people, showing their reactions? I saw one the other day with black people, liberal people, conservative people, and others. That song is hitting hard as the kids would say. I mean, grown men are breaking down into tears. These last few years this radical, liberal, Marxism has hit men hard. They've been told they are toxic, racist, misogynist. They been told they're rapists and to believe all women, no matter what the facts are. Girl power is everywhere. They go out and work and get chicken feed back. They can't afford food or the gas to do get the food. They sure can't afford to buy a home. They feel dejected and rejected. And these liberals look at the situation in this country and say " lets force everyone to buy electric cars"!! They are so out of touch with the feeling of the country. The thing is Oliver Anthony is not conservative. This songs cuts across every age, every race, every religion. In a country so divided, people are agreeing on this anthem, things have to change, now!!
I can totally appreciate how you feel. And people like you and I are big on feeling a calling. That's why we traveled away from home and did what we did.We felt a call we could not resist. And I understand that conservatism doesn't mean "Christian". But I do believe there is a vast difference between the Marxist agenda the radical left is pushing and conservatism. And if voting for them will put the radicals out of office, I'm gonna do it every time. I cherish our freedoms too much and maybe it's because I've come from Canada that doesn't have all the same freedoms America has.
When it became clear Hitler wasn't going to stop at the border and he had plans to take over the world, a change was made in England. They brought Churchill back. And there is no doubt that that move helped them win the war. Churchill, I don't believe, had any strong faith. He drank like a fish, most found him arrogant, he certainly wasn't a born again believer. Yet he called for a day of prayer for the country that many believe turned the tide of the war. See I believe God can use imperfect people, people we would never choose, to work his will. There is no doubt Churchill was the man for the job, for that period in time. I believe the same could be true of Trump. On top of that, what Biden is doing against Trump, trying to imprison his political opponent is shockingly wrong. And if it is allowed to happen to Trump, others will be in the same danger. I thank you for your post, it made me see more clearly where you're coming from and I'm not trying to judge you either. Most of all,I believe the best thing is to pray that God will place the right person in office.
