Hey Everyone,

Today is considered a holiday in the USA (Labor Day,) so many people have off work.

If you have a day off or just want to treat yourself to a little something extra, what are your guilty pleasures?

Today, mine will be:

* Reading and possibly writing letters almost all day.

* Watching reviews of the new Mario World theme park lands in Japan and California.

* Skipping out on exercise! Hooray! May my elastic waistband gym shorts be set free!

* A heaping plate of tater tots, each of which will be individually dipped into a big pile of salt! :D

Whee!

Your turn!!!

I would love to hear what you consider to be your own oh-so-fun guilty pleasures in life (this can include whatever you want! Time with a pet, TV, movies, games, roller hockey, cooking, gardening, underwater basket weaving...)

A big, beautiful cloudless sky is the limit. :)

Today I ate 250 grams (almost 9 ounces) of a dessert that consisted of some kind of mikly-creamy mix, crushed oreos, licorice sauce, and some other ingredients.

Too bad we can't order a couple of these and start sharing them around the forum:

I had a three scoop caramel sundae and laid out in the yard soaking up some sun!

Yeah...

I think non-regulars don't realize that most people come to Singles to actually get away from the more formalized threads; we generally have a much more off-the-cuff style, even when it comes to serious topics.

This is why I've been trying to put up a lot of threads lately -- I want to try to give people a variety of topics they can join in on if the more structured talks aren't quite their style.

McDonald's. And, Married with Children. (You did say "guilty" pleasure.)

I know, you're going to say " Screenshot 2023-09-04 at 2.12.41 PM.png "

I haven't had McDonald's in forever!!!

The last time I checked though, the "Value" meals in this area were well over $10, often closer to $15. I couldn't believe it!

I used to LOVE McDonald's -- chicken nuggies and French fries, oh yeah!

But now that it's so expensive I debate on either just using the money for groceries, or saving for pad thai at my favorite Asian noodle place.

That's because they're... valuable?

Reading, minor car maintenance, coffee and food, reorganizing my closet, and yard work.
Those are "guilty" pleasures?

Rodney is a simple guy (I mean that in the best kind of way) who works a lot and doesn't get a lot of time to himself, so any time he gets to leisurely enjoy something he likes, it's a luxury.

Sorry for speaking for him... It's a side-effect of meeting him and a few others in person last year.

Ever since seeing them in action, I always have a knee-jerk (in this case, finger-typing) reaction when it comes to questions about them I think I can answer. :geek:

I know this "Informative" emoji is a bit generic , but the reason I use it so often is because I don't feel any of the other emojis fit, but I want to acknowledge that their post was read ("heard.")

I have a good friend I met here and while she's not on this site much anymore, she told me she struggles with social anxiety. From listening to her, I realized that for some people who feel socially anxious, they will post and then worry that what they said was either ignored or seen as too stupid to respond to.

I tend to try to use at least the "I" or "Tool" (Useful) emoji a lot in my threads in case others out there are having problems with anxiety or feeling unseen, and an emoji might make them feel acknowledged...

It's the little things... :)

NOT that I worry about you having social anxiety AT ALL, Goji!!!

But when I can't pick the reaction I'm really wanting, I tend to fall back on old reliables.:)

Hey! I'm very tender! If you scratch me, will I not bleed? If you rub my building-sized belly, will I not roll over?
