I'm not disputing what you said, but why split hairs when Jesus' message is being proclaimed? Here is the resurrected Jesus speaking to His disciples:
Luke 24
[45] Then opened he [Jesus] their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
[46] And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
[47] And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
[48] And ye are witnesses of these things. (KJV)
“
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found,
call ye upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For
as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh
it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but
it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:3, 6-8, 10-11 KJV
“
A new heart also will I give you, and
a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
And
I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”
Ezekiel 36:26-27 KJV
“
Hearken unto me, my people; and
give ear unto me, O my nation: for
a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
My righteousness is near;
my salvation is gone forth, and
mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and
on mine arm shall they trust.”
Isaiah 51:4-5 KJV
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD:
for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
Jeremiah 31:31-34 KJV
Not this imputation of sin
“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
Romans 3:19-20 KJV
But this repentance and remission of sins david writes
“
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile.
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old Through my roaring all the day long. For day and night
thy hand was heavy upon me: My moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. ( david wasnt acknolwedging his sins before the lord and it was crushing his soul )
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: Surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.”
Psalm 32:1-6
Paul is drawing from this
“Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto
whom God imputeth righteousness without works, saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”
Romans 4:6-8 KJV
“
The law and the prophets were until John:
since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
Luke 16:16 KJV
“Now
after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying,
The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
Mark 1:14-15 KJV
“And he said unto them,
These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that
all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Then
opened he their understanding, that they might
understand the scriptures, and said unto them,
Thus it is written, and thus
it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
Luke 24:44-47 KJV
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
So then
after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”
Mark 16:15-16, 19 KJV
As we learn the gospel we realize at the core of Jesus teachings for us is to be merciful towards others because all of us need grace being imperfect
At the heartbeat of the gospel is this message
“But
love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and
your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:
condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom.
For
with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Luke 6:35-38 KJV
When we become focused on sin too much we begin to miss what he’s teaching us to do , and how to be but we’re seeing what not to do and how not to be and being stifled before we look to the solution which is what he’s teaching us to do that offers salvstion
repentance first becomes to stop living for one’s own self interests and consider the needs of others and with that goes the drive to live opposes to God sin becomes dirty as you learn from Jesus the gospel changes us inwardly in the heart and mjnd because we believe we can learn from Jesus but often when we do it becomes a challenge to our long held beliefs of what God is really telling man
