Why would it be a good question you don't seriously believe this hasn't happened yet do you.

A question about bout the new covenant;

from the book pf prophet Jeremiah;

Jer 31:31 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,
Jer 31:32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD.
Jer 31:33 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

Some say the new covenant is in effect, some do not agree but see it come to effect just after Jesus's return. These verses follow the ones about the restoration of Israel and Judah see Jer full chap. 30 that correspond to the end time after jacob's trouble ;
Jer 30:7 Alas! That day is so great there is none like it; it is a time of distress for Jacob; yet he shall be saved out of it.

What do you guys think?;

Who, today in 2023 is the House of Judah and the House of Israel?

The mistake I see is that the entire Old Testament is often referred to as Jews. Judah only makes up 1/12th of the 12 Tribes.

Read the book of Hosea and learn when God says "Not my people" and then turns it around and says "My people."

When we come into the commonwealth of Israel, we then become God's "My people".

If we remain in the Babylonian system, mixing scriptures with pagan traditions, we will see and perhaps suffer the wrath of God poured out on the whole world.

The LORD hates mixing, because its like adding a little bit of poop in the brownie mix. It's disgusting and it blinds you from the truth.

I've also highlighted "I was their husband" says the LORD. Why did the LORD divorce the house of Israel? Because they refused to let go of their pagan practices. Taken into captivity by the Assyrians and then scattered throughout the whole world, mixing with every race and nation, so that they forgot the LORD, and forgot His Ways, the Torah instructions, and continued to mix pagan practices even after hearing about Yeshua/Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The "world" is the house of Israel and house of Judah. Who are the Gentiles of the nations? They are the ones who have forgotten the Father and forgotten His instructions and have the Babylonian pagan traditions.

Jeremiah 3:20 Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.
23 Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation/(victory) of Israel.

All of Yeshua/Jesus parables come to light when you view the world from the scattering and gathering perspective. (search the scriptures for these two words "scatter" and "gather".

John 11:51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
John 11:52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

One parable is the one lamb lost (Luke 15) and the good shepherd leaves the 99 to search for that one lost lamb. After He finds the lost lamb, and brings it back to the flock, He calls for a celebration.

Another parable (Luke 15:11-32) is of the prodigal son, who takes His inheritance and goes out into the world and blows it all, only to find himself in with the pigs where he comes to his senses and determines to return to his Father's house and ask to be a servant. The Father is watching everyday for his son's return and when the Father sees Him afar off, runs to meet the son and tells his servants to prepare a feast for a party. The older son is jealous and angry. He never got a party like that. This is the House of Judah who is not happy about his brothers return and the Father's joy for this son's return.

And the other parable in Luke 15, is the lost coin of the ten coins. Each of these parables are talking about the return and the celebrating of the House of Israel/ten tribes.

It is my understanding that the Two Witnesses who minister for 1260 days is they are demanding that the House of Israel and House of Judah be gathered and delivered to Israel. They can cause it to not rain. The Two Witnesses are representative of Aaron and Moses demanding to Pharoah to let my people go and the Ten Plagues are unleashed. The two end time witnesses will also be unleashing plagues similar to the first exodus and will be calling for God's people to be brought to the land of Israel. But that is not the end of the story. They must flee again and be chased by the evil rulter(s) and once again the LORD will destroy those chasing and pursuing of the children of God.

In Revelations we read
Rev_12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev_14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

I'm becoming confused by this thread.

Is the spiritual Isreal also the descendants of Jacob and also Christians.

And when we see the house of Isreal being the covenant people in the bible is that also refering to the house of Isreal, and Christians ?

I understand what you say, who is the house of Israel today?, Some have returned and Isreel is back but not all of the lost tribes have returned, many were lost and the records almost non existent to this day. My genealogy brings my ancestors to Normandy and they were Israelites and probably from the tribe of Benjamin. Many of us here on these forums are israelites without knowing, ( many americans are from the tribe of Dan) Israel is still scattered and have not yet fully returned but I feel these days are fast approaching, the sings are there, as for the new covenant, I am not certain it is in effect yet many refuse the simple commandments even if it is clearly written in the bible they are still valid. Jesus says clearly the commandments will not pass away.

This is why I ask a simple question, are we yet under the new covenant or is it still to come?

Blessings.

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

I believe the answer is that the New Covenant (renewed) began at Yeshua/Jesus resurrection. Paul was sent to the "gentiles" which are the ones who have forgotten the LORD and forgotten His first covenant/Torah, of which the LORD divorced the House of Israel.

Paul figured out the Greatest Mystery and that is the why Yeshua/Jesus came. Read Deuteronomy 24:1-4 and Jeremiah 3 & 31 and Romans 7:1-4. Also reading

Matthew 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Remembering the house of Israel is scattered around the whole world, mixed into many races and nations.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent called Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

If you do not know the LORD/YHWH, then you have been blinded and made deaf by Satan.

Yeshua/Jesus speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well
John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

So would you conclude the house of Isreal are Christians

Would you also say the house of Isreal represents the spiritual Isreal and the covenant people of Isreal from the descendants of Jacob who are also all Christians

We are under the new covenant. It is the covenant that is sealed in the blood of Christ. In the book of Hebrews, the author goes to great lengths to show the superiority of Christ, the new covenant, the superior priesthood, etc.
The author also gives grievous warnings against returning to the old covenant.
There are good commentaries and books on the subject.
Hope this is helpful to you.

The new covenant is a central theme of the Bible. It is a binding contract between God and humans that establishes and defines God’s relationship with humans in every age of history. The Old Testament (old covenant) was a foreshadowing of the New, a foundation for what was to come. From the book of Genesis on, the Old Testament pointed forward to a Messiah or Savior. The New Testament describes the fulfillment of God’s promise by Jesus Christ.

The new covenant is not like the covenant that God made with their fathers on the day when he took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, his covenant that they broke, though he was their husband, declares the LORD. For this is the covenant that God will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more 12.

The new covenant is in effect now 1. It was established by Jesus Christ through his death on the cross 3. The new covenant is superior to the old covenant because it provides forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus Christ 4. The new covenant also provides believers with direct access to God through Jesus Christ 5.

Do you feel the end times are here now? Do you question your role or are you just waiting to be taken up? Do you know that all the calamity happening around the world is Yehovah's works of wrath on a disobedient, rebellious world? Do you know it is prophesied to just continue to get worse and worse? Are you ready? Don't call the calamities Mother Earth or Gaia. Don't blame it on Satan. Blame only yourselves and for your rebellion.
Oh we have not actually seen the wrath of God yet. There is a progressive negative effect in this world of rebellious mankind for certain, but people are not yet asking the rocks to fall on them to hide them from God.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
That is truth for it is the word of God. However, that has zero to do with what you are opining about. If a person is in agreement with this word, they are not under the wrath of God. Taking verses out of context and attempting to marry them to your opinion does not work; you cannot recreate the import of the word at your will. It seems you may be missing a comprehensive overview of Scripture.

The copy/pastes are simply taking up room in your post.

It is time that people understand that God does not honor those who choose to go beyond what is written and try to scare up religion in people. The Old Testament is not our covenant with God; we have a new Covenant by the blood of Christ. He is our High Priest and no amount of righteous deeds or law observation amounts to any part of our salvation.

""Paul figured out the Greatest Mystery and that is the why Yeshua/Jesus came""

can you elaborate on this one, I would like to know more about this mystery, it was clear to me before I read Paul what Jesus the son of GOD came to do.

here is a summary of jer 31;

""God will again at the end of the age take Israel into new covenant relation with Himself, from which they have for hundreds of years been cut off because of rebellion against His Word. At that time, all shall come to the knowledge of God, and the earth shall be filled with songs of joy.""

this is why I think that the new covenant will be in effect at jesus second coming or soon after all of the tribes are back in Israel.

Peace.

Have you tested the word "fulfill"?

G4137
πληρόω
plēroō
play-ro’-o
From G4134; to make replete, that is, (literally) to cram (a net), level up (a hollow), or (figuratively) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence), satisfy, execute (an office), finish (a period or task), verify (or coincide with a prediction), etc.: - accomplish, X after, (be) complete, end, expire, fill (up), fulfil, (be, make) full (come), fully preach, perfect, supply.

As a Rabbi, Yeshua gave clarity to the law. He said a man who looks at a woman with lust, has committed adultery. Before that, the law of adultery was an act of sexual intercourse by married persons. That is just one example. Another example is Yeshua/Jesus said:

Matthew 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

“...But Jesus fulfilled the whole law of God so I don’t have to.” This statement clearly makes the mistake of not realizing that it is a blessing to keep a law of God. There are many places in the Bible just to prove this. See Psalm 119.

Paul also teaches in Romans 8 that it’s the fleshly minded that think this way, but those who are spiritual love the law of God.

Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

So, what if someone implies that it is a good thing that the law of God was removed by our Messiah? So, what are we to do with such a response from professed believers?

Sometimes Matthew 5 is cited in this belief. The word “fulfilled” and Matthew 5:17 are either interpreted as being fulfilled in the sense of fully preaching or teaching the law of God, or fulfilled in the sense of no longer making the law of God applicable. Those are our choices.

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Interpreting fulfill as meaning that the law is no longer applicable makes absolutely no sense in light of the next two verses in which it is stated nothing will change until heaven and earth disappear. Then, Yeshua/Jesus, even goes on listing consequences if anyone practices and teaches even the least of the commandments are no longer applicable.

Matthew 5:18-19 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever, therefore, breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

So, if we choose for the word “fulfill” in verse 17 to mean that the whole law of God is no longer going to be applicable to believers, here’s what we have Yeshua/Jesus saying:

In verse 17, “I come not to destroy the law but to make it no longer applicable.”

Verse 18, “but until heaven and earth pass, every jot or tittle of the law still stands.”

Verse 19, “Even though the law of God is no longer going to be applicable as stated in verse 17, anyone teaching that the whole law of God is no longer applicable will be least in the kingdom.”

That definition of fulfill in verse 17 just doesn’t seem to work in any way possible. This means that “fulfilled” in Matthew 5:17, the Greek word “pleroo,” must mean to fully preach or fully teach the law of God and cannot teach that any part of the law of God is no longer applicable because it would then render verses 18 and 19 as irrelevant or even contradictory.

Obviously Yeshua/Jesus did not say in verse 17 that He intends to fulfill the whole law of God that it is no longer applicable and then immediately proceed to tell us that it is applicable to us, at least until heaven and earth pass away.

And then, as if that was not enough, then proceed in the very next verse to say that there are eternal consequences to the believer for teaching and practicing that even the least of the Commandments are no longer applicable. That would make either Yeshua/Jesus schizophrenic or insane.

How could the law of God be removed and not be removed at the same time? And, if the law of God was removed by Him fulfilling it, then why would there be negative consequences that would result if someone teaches and practices that some of the commandments no longer apply?

Obviously, that does not make sense, so the answer is clear.

This is about as easy as it gets, despite what one might believe about Paul and we already know that Peter said that Paul is perhaps the most difficult teacher to understand as it relates to matters of God’s law. Yet, how many want to run to his writings thinking they understand Paul taught the whole law of God is no longer applicable?

Meaning this, Yeshua/Jesus did not come to destroy the law or make it no longer applicable. Instead, He came to fully teach us the law of God. This should make much more sense considering the fact that Yeshua/Jesus spent His whole ministry teaching and practicing what Moses already wrote as the Father’s Word. Even teaching in Mark chapter 7 that nullifying what Moses wrote is a very bad thing to do. But let’s suppose we ignore all that and that verses 18 and 19 of Matthew 5 no longer exist. How else would we
know that it does not make much sense to believe that when Yeshua/Jesus said in Matthew 5 that He came to fulfill the whole law of God in the sense that He did not mean that we no longer have to do it anymore?

Well, one clear reason beyond all the context offered is the fact that Yeshua/Jesus did not do the whole law of God. And, He never will. Yeshua/Jesus did not fulfill the whole law of God in the sense of actually doing the whole law of God. That is not possible. There are commandments that are only for women. And Yeshua/Jesus , He will never do those. There are commandments that are only for farmers, and Yeshua was not a farmer. There are commandments for the judges, the Sanhedrin, and Yeshua is not part of them. There are commandments for the Levites, and Yeshua was not a Levite.

Yeshua/Jesus did not come to fulfill the whole law of God by doing the whole law of God so that we don’t have to. Yeshua did not do the whole law of God and He never will.

The only thing “fulfill” can mean in Matthew 5:17 is that He came to fully teach the whole Word of God as truth. This is the exact same word used Matthew 3:15 “But Jesus (Yeshua) answered and said to him permit it to be so now for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”

So, if Matthew 5:17 means that Yeshua/Jesus fulfilled the whole law of God so that we do not have to, does that mean that Yeshua/Jesus also fulfill practicing all righteousness so that we no longer have to practice righteousness? Obviously not.

1 John 2:29 “If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.”

1 John 3:7 “Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous just as He is righteous.”

1 John 3:10 “In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God nor is he who does not love his brother.”

G1343 dikaiosunē
From G1342; equity (of character or act); specifically (Christian) justification: - righteousness.

Jesus died and rose again. There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Him. We are now justified, just as if we had never sinned.

Let all those who are in Christ surrender to Him all ideas of somehow outdoing His death by performance. That is wickedness and vanity and pride at its best.

Bother I agree with everything you said perfectly well, I am just uncertain as if is is now !
here is why from what you wrote:
"For this is the covenant that God will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.""

Do you see here in this forum everyone united in saying the commandments are in their hearts ? Many here reject the commandments as nailed to the cross and no longer applicable. I know however that some here who believe in Jesus by doing what he asks ( this is what it means to believe in him!!!!) do have the commandments written in their hearts just like you and a few other here but not all. The scriptures are clear! if you say now in relation to the few who love the commands and obey them then I agree. for these few they are under the new covenant!

Blessings.

What is the reason for the forum as you see it?
I know the power words have the scriptures themselves say there is life and death in the tongue many people who read things on forums like this have seen what words can do and at first the forum was a great place to be with people but online became arguments everywhere you went

If online forums alone can do this much damage with mere written words I think the opposite should be true. So to me it is a field in which our words can either spread the kingdom of God or not but we have to remeber the parable of the talents and the parable of the referense of the kingdom of heaven being likened to planting seeds.

Not to mention everything I mentioned he spoke to me and instead of all those so called other speakers for him be that prophets or teachers or visionaries it activates you if it is the real thing you don't just sit around being all talk.

But it requires utter surrender to him the truth that goes past just the written word he calls you to the real thing himself. That is when you make him not just your savior but your Lord and that title demands respect you serve him no if and or butt.

So in understanding how words have power and sumbitting yourself completely and I mean real surrender this is when the kingdom begins to make sense and your comission as he has commanded us to do is written on your heart.

So the forum is a field words have power the mission we were given and called to do the two parables mentioned these things are what it is for me.

That wasn't for you so it is of no concern to me what you think. He said to post it I obeyed.
Well you are wrong. No prophet speaking by the Spirit of God should think themself about judgement of the words they say.

Let the prophets speak (if indeed there be any here) by two or three.

We must judge what we hear; every person should be practiced or becoming practiced, in discernment for there are many false prophets gone out into the world. Only a fool will give their ears to those who refuse any correction or believe themselves above criticism or judgement. The one who tells others to shut up because they are not speaking for them but only for certain chosen ones who also happen to agree with their estimation of themself, is the one who should keep silent.

I firmly believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit but the application of how they are to be received or understood, keeps many from the truth and allows the false to entertain itching ears and leads into deception.

Jesus warned all true disciples that the time was coming when the truth will not be received. Some may not understand or believe the following, but a Christian can have two spirits. One being the Holy Spirit and the other, an evil or deceiving spirit and eventually, the 2nd one will derail the life of the person who is under that influence.

It is not true that the Holy Spirit will not allow for any evil spirits in a believer. Where is that written in the Bible? Take a look at Peter who one moment knew Jesus and the next, denied His reason for being sent from God. Jesus said, 'Get behind me satan.' In other words, get out of my way you liar; I do not accept what you say.

That, is how we are to deal with the false. Do not accept it; do not give it a platform.

Blessings.
This is where your issues are leading you to question Christianity in a wrong way.

I will only say this for your benefit

There is no such thing as a Christian who rejects the commandments.

If you for one minute think there is then your only going to be as confused, as your question of confusion.

Your assuming a Christian can be Christian and reject the commandments

And your only going to argue you can forfeit your salvation.

Really? The written word is the safely net that catches us if we go too far and enter a realm that is not truth.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. John 17: 17-26

I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. [2] I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. Psalm 138

So do you come then to snatch away what is really true and attempt to lead others into a make-believe world?

This utter surrender you speak of sounds more like allowing whatever thoughts you entertain to be attributed to the Holy Spirit. If what a person says does not line up with scripture, but they insist they are inspired by a spirit, then know...absolutely KNOW...that what they say is NOT truth.

Blain I have no doubt you experience what you say you do, but there is nothing that supplants the written word. Nothing. You are deceived if you believe that. It sounds more like Eastern religions that promise all kinds of things including a little world all in your own mind.

Haven't seen you for a while but I will be the first to admit I am not perfect there are times when I slip and fall and I take counsil from those who give correction in wisdom and in clear spirit not from those who have hate in them or who go about doing so in malice.

And with all your words here you are fixated on me and I have said before that I have been in training so yes I am at fault sometimes but The mission still remains and that is why even if I am in the wwrong his grace is sufficent and he points it out to me when I go and be with him in silence.
Even so if it makes you feel better forget I ever said I was a prophet since you cannot seem to let that go and just listen to the words actually being said take me out of your mind and just read the message.
