We already proved to this guy that the atmosphere is not transparent, but he goes on pitchforking his strawman to death. Even if Christians agree with the guy, I'm disappointed they support his intellectual dishonesty.

this is one of those subjects that boils down to, what do i choose to believe. both sides have their evidence.
i'm going to throw something out there. there are people that say the moons light has a cooling effect and say the shade in moonlight is warmer than the ground in moonlight. things like this make me think the moon isnt what we are told it is

I tried that experiment. The temperature of the water in the full moon was at least one degree celcius cooler than in the shade (on some tests several degrees cooler). The moon has its own light, it does not reflect the light of the sun. As per what scripture records in Genesis (i.e. two great lights - not one great light and one great reflector).
I agree. But then, we have to look where the burden of proof is. It is on the one making the claim (i.e. ball-Earthers), not the one adhering to observation (i.e. those who claim the Earth is flat). If the burden of proof is not satisfied, the scientific default is that we go with observation. Anything else is not science (i.e. faith/religion). And given the scriptures imply a Flat Earth, anything else that is religion is not of the Christian religion.
I just try not to think about the whole thing. I can't prove what shape the earth, but eventually people will gain the tech needed to prove one way or another without having to rely on propaganda.
I wish schools taught only facts instead of meddling with kids minds. If you want to see the future, look at what the little kids are being taught in school. By that I mean look at the text books, look at what they are watching, look at what news they are being fed. News programs have their own feeds just for children.

what we were taught as little kids is why we have the knee jerk reactions we do. if someone says flat earth, we have already been preprogrammed to attack them. If someone says, well, anything against the medical industry, we are preprogrammed to attack them.

It is way too late to fix this problem. The only solution is for parents to empty out the public schools totally.
i remember in school the teachers making fun of the notion of a flat earth. we were taught to mock them. dont you remember how they taught us how amazing columbus was and how stupid everyone else was because they thought the earth was flat and he thought it was round.
