"Could be" is different from "there was" as if it was the truth. One accepts the possibility that it could have happened but not claiming that without a doubt it did happen.

And that is the difference....a huge difference. One statement accepts that security is always fleeting and the other was an outrageous lie that held no basis in fact or truth. And the publishing of slanderous lies that harms an innocent company is subject to monetary damages.

Tucker knew he was lying, he continued to lie, and when presented with the truth refused to retract any lie he had told. That tends to get winning judgment by juries. And of course Fox lost its case....that was a foregone conclusion. They should have tried to mitigate the damages a long time ago. But instead their legal team thought they might argue well enough to get away with it. (Inflated ego)

You make choices and pay the price.

Will have to try and find what they actually said. Buried now because I have been looking for it. If anyone does find those comments, please post. I understand that Canada won't use these systems because they don't find them trustworthy. But I can't find those comments either. May be the engine I'm using.

Tucker was fired because his statements without true sources to back them up are actionable and cost the network millions in a libel suit.
He was warned about it but continued anyway. It's called "Yellow Journalism" meaning it's biased and pure speculation. Not something that you want on a news network. Opinion based on fact is one thing....opinion based on speculation is another. And Dominion voting machine company took exception to their machines being branded as easily hacked and error prone. They sued and won easily.

Tucker knew what he was doing when he did it. He knew he was lying to get viewers....sensationalism over integrity.

Bill O'Reilly still is a philandering sensationalist. (He sexually harassed many women at Fox...they couldn't keep up with the payments for these women) His opinion on the news was popular but slanted.

Newsmax Chief (forgetting his name) was the more honest. He was warned to not show video/photograph that showed a fetus grabbing the finger of the surgeon operating on him....but he did it anyway which embroiled Fox in the abortion debate. At Fox News discussion about the legality of Abortion mandates is acceptable but discussion on the morality is not. And he crossed the line.

Jim Cramer got fired from Fox News because he was continually promoting buying stocks he was selling as well as his own mutual fund....instead of the truth that he was dumping certain stocks or buying other ones. Today he's on MSNBC doing the same lying as usual.

Fox picks up those who are ready for a breakout to the big time(they are cheap)....but most can't handle the responsibility and their egos get the best of them.
Your facts are very jumbled, Tucker was the one who stated that Powell needed to bring the evidence.

CNN and MSNBC outright lie day in and day out, CNN has been sued several times.
None of what you write is why Tucker was let go.

Ok, so I thought that Hanity was the one that had Powell on his shows. I don't recall Tucker having anything to do with that.

I just want to thank all who have spoken on this subject!! I was up most of the night last night, I was so upset! When I served 2 Tours in Vietnam, I fought not just the enemy, but I also fought to keep our rights in our Country to speak freely! I never expected people to all agree, but you sure should have the right without being fired, or tossed aside to speak your mind as you see things. Again, thanks so much for your thoughts on this matter!! If I get anything else important, I will sure share this with you all!

Absolutely agree.
I am no fan of Fox News, it is clear they are controlled opposition, yet Carlson had good people on and he let them people speak.
No worries, he will go on.
We live in dark times but people are waking up and alternative news sources will carry on.

Louder with Crowder is saying Murdock pushed him out over the Jan 6 videos. Which makes sense because Shumer called for him to be fired.

This makes more sense than the Dominion voting machines issue. He was very outspoken on a number of issues like child surgeries etc.,

If I had time to spare, I would guess his sources were those "unbiased" news networks CNN, MSNBC, or NPR. They never are involved with Yellow Journalism, just Red Journalism. ⚒️

He was provided some of the videos of the J6 protest that the powers that shouldn't be concealed from the juries and public. He could have been even more hard core, like Alex Jones, but covered it more carefully than necessary IMHO.

Wasn't Carlson partly responsible for a massive judgment against Fox News? I haven't been following this but from what I've heard he lied on the air about something or someone and that brought the lawsuit. If that's the case and Fox was found guilty in a court of law why shouldn't he have been fired? Conservatives are always complaining about fake news from the liberal media. Why shouldn't conservative media be held to the same standard?

There's a difference between fake news we want to hear and fake news we don't want to hear. The first is completely justified. The second is evil incarnate.

He told it like it was.
And that is exactly why he was fired. FOX does not want truthful reporting, just like all the other mainstream media. They lied about the election fraud and promoted Biden as the winner!

What is rather puzzling is why no conservative haves come together to have a seriously truthful conservative network. Newsmax is not genuinely conservative and often favors the party line. Also their formatting is ridiculous.

I don't see how. If you were libeled or slandered by someone in the liberal media don't you have the same right to sue?
It's only a double standard when the other side does it.

There's a young Man in Wisconsin that says even the President is not allowed to get away with slander. He is currently engaged in lawsuits against several networks and the President....
And he has made friends with another young man who wore a hat that the news networks took issue with. (Which got him a sizeable judgment)

@JohnDB i appreciate your point of view and your reasoning.
I think we disagree on guns but we agree on a lot of other things.
