Believe in Jesus, reject the Bible, is it even possible?

A Big Fat---- NO ---Jesus is the Word of the Bible -----If you reject the Words written in the Bible --you reject Jesus Himself ----and if you Reject Jesus ----then you Have Rejected --the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit as all 3 are ONE ------and then your DOOMED forever ----

Ive ment many who believe in God but dont know his word, ive talked to them that believe in God but not Jesus, and Jesus but not God.
Question is...do you believe in the God of the bible? Its not a god but the God.

I believe she learned it from going to confirmation. Its a thing lutherans do, when you turn 15 you go to a camp, where they "confirm" your baptism and faith, teach you some basic stuff about the Bible. [Note: I do not believe in infant baptism and i have been baptized as an adult by immersion]

She just says "its personal to me, I know Jesus forgives me my sins" but then if I try to quote something from the Bible to her it turns into "I dont believe in the bible, man wrote all sorts of things in there"
She is a wnb vegan so in particular the issue is the animal sacrifices that were used in the past, and I dare not even bring up the FACT that Jesus and the disciples ate lamb and fish as recorded in the Bible.

Interesting, she believes in Jesus through oral stories about Him that come from the Bible but she cannot relate the Stories and the Bible are connected as Source.

Really though, she's no different than anyone who goes to church and listens but never reads the Bible. They only know the version from who told it to them.

I would not be too concerned. You know the truth and the way her mind works, she has a version of the truth herself that is just between her and God.
Just listen to her and each time she says something in error, just correct it and say no more.

If she says Jesus did or said something out of context, just politely correct her.

If she said, Jesus ate locust and honey.

You say, that was John the Baptist.

She will think about it later.

Hello brothers and sisters. I have a very very close family member who says they REJECT the Bible, but believe in Jesus.

I know most people didn't even have a bible in the first century and you don't even need to read to be saved, but in my opinion now that we do have the complete bible and we CAN read, to reject it is pretty much rejecting God isn't it?

What do you guys feel about this? Is she saved or not? I do not think so honestly, because st. Paul warns us of "another Jesus"

Are there any Bible verses that say something about this topic? Believing in Jesus yet rejecting the scriptures..

If she knows how to read but doesn’t love to read scripture there is definitely something wrong.

Read 1st John, there’s an abundance of proofs there to give assurance to believers but can also be used in your situation.

There is a world of difference between believing in Jesus and faith in Jesus. I suspect that many Christian Church members, just like the Islam believer with Ala, believe in Jesus, but have never repented so that Jesus would forgive them.
A person can believe whatever he wants and then do nothing or even sacrifice themselves, but to no avail without a relationship with Jesus. So, faith is that form of believing that is instigated by Jesus and is solely based upon the illuminated word of God and will always produce works appropriate to repentance in those who have it. A relationship with the Lord Jesus is a component and the purpose of Faith.

I think collectively, the answers above have already given a lot of breadth on this... the answers have all been good.


Few Additional Points:

1.) In order to be saved, we need to know certain things ABOUT Jesus... and this all has to come from scripture.
a.) We need to know we NEED Jesus... so we have to understand we're sinners that need to be saved.
b.) We need to know WHO Jesus is... that he is GOD INCARNATE, and so he has power to save us
c.) We need to know WHY he died... that his death was a substitutionary atonement for our sin debt.

2.) All of this information about Jesus, and salvation, and what it all means... this is all part of the basic gospel... and it's found in scripture.

3. When people reject the Bible, that is an act of rebellion: rebellion is the OPPOSITE of the attitude required for salvation, so this would make me very concerned of a person's salvation.

4.) Rejecting the bible is usually just a SYMPTOM of a larger SYSTEM OF BAD BELIEFS... it's usually a symptom that indicates a lot of other problems, including heart problems.

5.) It is "possible" for a person to be sincere, and sincerely accept Christ, and then to later be confused by bad teachers, and disregard the Bible... it's possible.
All you can do is talk to them, as Nehemiah mentioned above, and see what they believe about Jesus now.
If they no longer believe Jesus saves, or that he's God... then I would take them at their word, and assume they are not Christians.

The one and only way to obtain an acquittal by and in His blood is to recognize your own sin and guilt, and plead guilty BEFORE you ever end up in the court, recognizing that His completed effective work on your behalf has set you free from condemnation.

Otherwise, a summary conviction will be the one and only outcome.

Hi , I wonder if allot of the answers are not based on someone strong in the faith. Though I believe the Word of God is alive it is Christ many do not and are saved So are we talking about someone new to Christ weak in the faith? If so some of the comments are way to strong.

Some of you do not know what you said or to be blunt some of you do not believe all of that bible. So when Christ walked this earth everyone "had to" believe the Torah or they could not believe in Christ? Is that really how it works?

So Komentaja does she believe Christ came in the flesh died on the cross for the worlds sin was buried rose the 3rd day? If so then yes she is saved.
