What was Jesus doing in his early years on earth, before he began his God-given ministry? (Like when he was a teen and young adult), I know he was son of a carpenter, is that what he was doing before?

Maybe. I would have loved to know Jesus as a teenager! We did see a glimpse of what He was like at 12. He was already very insightful at that age.
We are not told. Luke 2:41-52 does tell us this:
Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. And when he was
twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. And when they had
fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and
his mother knew not of it. But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's
journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. And when they found
him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. And it came to pass, that after
three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them,
and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and
answers. And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why
hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said
unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. And he went down with them,
and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her
heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

The Bible puts a veil over this period to prevent idle curiosity. God wants us to focus on the PUBLIC MINISTRY of Christ and everything that followed. If you will note, the Gospel of Mark dives directly into this and God inspired Mark to put a veil over the early years of Christ. The Gospel of John does the same, and focuses on the deity of Christ as the Creator of the universe, and then takes only seven of His miracles into this Gospel.

“And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.” Just like you said that God only wants us to focus on what’s important, which is the salvation of Christ

So I would say in his younger days he was his Father's apprentice and learned skills of the trade -----and when of age made a wage for preforming his Trade -----this is just my own opinion ---the scripture does NOT say that -------but it just makes sense -------I am sure Joseph and Jesus got a wage for the work they did ------
Now this word carpenter ----if you look it up means more that working with wood and nails -------Jesus could have worked with stone --iron or copper as well as wood -------

Well; I don't quite understand it either, but one thing I do know is that
Jesus' behavior wasn't rebellious: he was micromanaged by a higher power
than his parents.

He was living a sinless and perfect life as a man under the law like no one else could do. In order to intercede for us humans under the law of sin and so when he died without sin he could be the propitiation for sinners and live forever as our priest and mediator and savior
“but when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”

jesus was born in Israel a common man was raised by two Israelites and was a child grew into a young man worked labored like we all do according to genesis 3 he took part of every aspect of life under the law and never sinned then willingly traded his sinless life for sinners lives.
Jesus had to be a perfect man subjected to God as all men are in order to save us from sin , this was the requirement of the law and prophets that a man live in the world and overcome and be found worthy to intercede for the imperfect world of people

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.”

Jesus faced the same things we all do hard work one of those days where everything goes wrong and your patience is tries to the limit. All the nuisances we face that try our patience and faith to remain in Gods spirit and will for us.
We don’t know a situation Jesus doesn’t understand personally is the idea even being falsely accused , tried and convicted then executed all based on lies and false accusations he still knows what thats like as a man but when Jesus faced trials as a man like we are and struggles he turned to God
“Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.”
Hebrews 5:7-10 KJV
and then we see that God greatly glorified and exalted him as an example for us who believe in Jesus our Lord and our God who became one of us walked in our shoes and overcame it all , to save us because he loves us
Naturally because Christ is God manifest in the flesh, His will is one and the same
I don't think 'micromanagement' is an accurate description of the mind of the hypostatic union; it implies coercion either regardless of or potentially against one's own will.
I think if we look at the youth of Moses and of Jacob we'll find clues, because both of these men's lives testify of Him in type
He was a human just like all of us but didn't sin. He played with friends, worked, learned this & that & other child activities. and taught too. her experienced everything that all humans do.
Go and do a study of the Messianic Psalms and prophecies in Isaiah regarding Him (as well as the Gospels), and you'll find there is a lot of light there regarding those hidden years at Nazareth!
