Hello All,

This is my first time on here but I am happy to connect with other believers who enjoy fellowship in the Lord. I have been growing a lot recently in my life of faith, and a huge part of that is both my wife and I getting a more clear understanding of God's heart and will from Genesis to Revelation.

One determination that I have been focused on this year is getting more skilled in the word and speech so I can be able to convey the Word of God with impact. One of the topics I have been looking at recently is, "How one can clearly be able to recognize Jesus and the work he carries out at the second coming"

In Matthew 24:5 it mentions that many will come in the name of Jesus, saying "I am the Christ" and will deceive many.

Reflection question that I asked myself, How can we be those who are not deceived?

If there has been anyone who may desire to know even more about this, feel free to PM me (if that's an option on here) ☺️

Pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern the true from the false. That’s what I do. Too many charlatans out there today.

Hi yes, definitely prayer helps, what also helps is clearly understanding the promises that Jesus left (which are recorded in parables). Have you desired to know more of what Jesus promised? I'm actually working creating some notes for a lesson with a friend of mine on that very content

The book of Revelation foretells some of the catastrophes that will happen to mankind in the last days, but I don't think those catastrophes are divine punishments. I think those catastrophes are man-made.

Revelation also indicates that God never gave up on either person, the Two witnesses testify that even though those people still do not believe in God,God still sent two witnesses to preach His Word.

It's not clear to me that the prophecies of the Revelation will have to be fully fulfilled if the real world is to evolve in a better direction, but I'm not holding my hopes up.

But one thing is clear to me,To be king with Christ is not to issue executive orders like a secular president, but to influence those around us through our acts of obedience to God's Word. That is what it means to be king with Christ.

Hi, thanks for sharing, would you be open to learning how one can understand the book of Revelation? I was actually able to learn a way to read it, as well as the rest of the figurative meaning in the Bible 🙂

Sure, why not.
I could understand some of the figurative meaning in Revelation. But much of it is incomprehensible to me.
So What's your approach ?

Just as @814MB has said. Prayerfully seek the understanding of the Holy Spirit as we read and study the Word of God. He will give us discernment at the appointed time if we have done our due diligence.

How can we be those who are not deceived?
Being here at CC gives plenty of opportunity see what false teaching and deception looks like. Contend for the faith, dear brother.

obtw, Welcome to Christian Chat. :)(y):coffee:

Church is raptured at first resurrection (the saints) and attends marriage while the rest go into 7 years of tribulation period on Earth.

Church then returns with Christ to reign on Earth for 1000 years.

Second resurrection (the damned) then occurs, and Great White Throne Judgement ensues.

The condemned spend eternity in Lake of fire and the saints abide with Christ upon the New Earth and in the New Jerusalem forever.
