That's a (false) "principle" of biblical interpretation held by people without proper training. The KJV defines itself in the first mention.

It’s idiomatic. The translators used an English idiom that roughly captured the tone of the original.
So very sad, but true. The average person has shut their heart and ears to God, and that includes many who profess to be Christians. It is much more worthwhile to bake cookies than try to teach people who do not want to learn.
It'll happen when it's time. The only thing that "Theology" can produce is confusion, so neither MAN, or the Visible Churches will ever produce unity.
Back in 1973, I watched God bring all sorts of Churches together in a remarkable (but rather shallow) unity during the Charismatic outpouring which rolled on from about 1964 to 1979. I was in it from '72 through 78 or so. MANY PEOPLE were effected, and changed by it. ANd many denominations were changed. when the Charismatics started flowing back into the Assemblies of God denomination, it changed from a strongly legalistic, "Clothes-line holy", narrow minded, judgmental, bunch into a much more loving system, still maintaining it's strong missionary programs.
So when God decides it's TIME for the Churches to all see that same thing in Him - they will.
It is testimony to the hypocrisy of the KJV-only position. They claim that the KJV is the perfect English words, but these English words clearly are not "perfect".Thanks, that's kinda' what I had thought.
But I guess that replacing exact wording with idiomatic language would take away from the "purity" that KJ-only folks claim, wouldn't it?
I much prefer the KJV over any other translation, but it is definitely NOT a perfect translation. It is testimony to the hypocrisy of the KJV-only position. They claim that the KJV is the perfect English words, but these English words clearly are not "perfect".
There it is. I thought so. One naming themselves Nehemiah is a spelling Nazi from what I've experienced.I wanted to see if that personality was there in you too.Your spelling is egregious.
Given that you are new here and know nothing about me and nothing about the history of my interactions on this subject, I will overlook your inappropriate judgmental comments.

Please consider the character displayed by the one to whom you were speaking.God's character is not displayed through his word? If God's word contains errors, what does that say about his character? A faithful witness cannot lie.
I believe that God's words are perfectly preserved in the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, but not necessarily perfectly translated into English in different Bible versions. I've been reading the KJV for many, many years, but its underlying texts are NOT always perfectly translated into English. That's reality. Are you on the side of...the perfect, pure preserved words of God are not available for us today? We cannot rely on a sub-perfect bible.
All Bibles are ''sub-perfect'' because the original writings regarding eyewitness accounts of Jesus' ministry are lost to us.Are you on the side of...the perfect, pure preserved words of God are not available for us today? We cannot rely on a sub-perfect bible.
Go ahead, crack wise on the use of ''''you're'' sins'', and prove my point. There it is. I thought so. One naming themselves Nehemiah is a spelling Nazi from what I've experienced.I wanted to see if that personality was there in you too.
And it is.
My judgement even as a new arrival is appropriate.
You're sins are something you are proud to display. Mean, condescending, arrogant, pride filled, rude, and you clearly thrive on seeding controversy. All this make for the inability to rightly divide the words of God.
1John 3:8
Christians don't have to tolerate being spoken to in such ways.

Although you're oblivious to it, you do exactly that. No translation is perfect. The perfect words of God were the autographs. They're long gone. What we have today are copies of copies of the originals, and then they need to be translated into different languages so people can read them. For most of us, that's English. The KJV is decent, but since the KJV was translated, literally thousands more manuscripts have been discovered, many much older than the Textus Receptus, from which the KJV was translated. Are you on the side of...the perfect, pure preserved words of God are not available for us today? Yes, I believe everything the Bible says. This might seem like a strange question to ask here, but after having discussed the Bible for quite a while with folks, I have reached a point where I’m puzzled.
I know we disagree about many things, but some things are pretty clear in the Bible and there’s still a disagreement. I’m beginning to wonder if some Christians just don’t believe everything the Bible says. So I’m creating a poll where people can vote anonymously.
My answer is yes I believe everything the Bible says.
I never said that the King James Version of the Bible was "false". Instead, i said that its underlying texts are not always perfectly translated into English because they are not.Fair enough, thanks for your opinion. Do you consider all bibles false? Partial credit? Almost? For me, I have not found any errors in the KJV.'
I've been reading the KJV for many, many years myself, but it is not a perfect translation. If by "Egypt or Rome" you're referring to Codex Sinaiticus (even though Mt. Sinai is in Arabia, and NOT in Egypt) and Codex Vaticanus, then let me tell you plainly that I wouldn't wipe a dog's poopy butt with either of them. I personally believe, upon my own extensive research for many, many years, that they are deliberately corrupted texts.I read it. I study it. I believe it, every word. I trust Antioch, where the disciples were first called Christians, over Egypt or Rome.
Believe me, I'm beyond well aware of all of the omissions in the newer Bible per-versions. That said, the KJV still isn't perfectly translated from the Hebrew and Greek into English at all times. In fact, in some places, the translations are HORRIFIC.Matthew 4:But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Btw, verse not found in the new versions.)
