For believers who have abandoned entertainment media as their source of information, this will be redundant...

During deposition (yesterday) in Dominion's defamation lawsuit (for $1.6 Billion), Sean Hannity said that he "did not believe for a second" that widespread fraud had taken place in the 2020 election. Furthermore, Hannity’s disclosure — along with others that emerged from court Wednesday about what Fox News executives and hosts really believed as their network became one of the loudest megaphones for lies about the 2020 election — is among the strongest evidence yet to emerge publicly that some Fox employees knew that what they were broadcasting was false.

So, for those who count themselves as believers in Christ I have a question: how much more time will you give Fox News, and places like it, that lie to you to increase their advertising revenue?
I stopped caring what the news said a long time ago. Fox is no different to me. If anything, I study what news people say to understand what propaganda techniques they’re using. Outright lying is a form of propaganda, but they usually dress it up a little bit and call it disinformation or misinformation. Either way, the objective is the same which is to use deception in order to shape public opinion.

Anyway, this shouldn’t prompt a migration to a new news outlet. They’re all trying to manipulate the masses and it’s even more obvious when they suddenly shift gears around election seasons and begin attacking their political opponents. There’s nothing organic about that. The only way you can verify the news nowadays is to become an independent journalist and investigate the leads yourself, conduct the interviews, and fact check everything, but who has time for that? This is what it has come to, though, and it’s been this way for a long time.

Agreed.

I can’t remember the last time someone reported “just the facts”.

They're all sensational; people need their sensation fixes. Apparently the truth of grace through the Son of God isn't enough for them.

There are consequences for lying under oath.
Not any more. All these congressional and senate hearings over the past several years have been full of lies under oath. And absolutely no consequences.

Well, the majority of platforms I’ve seen that can reach a large audience often leverage their influence to push their own agenda. I guess that’s probably how it’s always been.

I could care less what he said or believes. If he lied, that's on him, he'll lose followers. As far as the election I don't need anyone to tell me it was stolen. There is no way 3% Joe and 2% Kammy got more votes than the first black president, let alone Trump. Look at the crowds both Obama and Trump had. I was on vacation heading to FL and had to spend the night in Alabama. Couldn't find a motel for miles because Trump was in the area. 60,000 people showed up. We had to stay in a dump of a motel behind a truck stop. Went out to eat that night and all along the road people we set up selling their Trump merch. Joe couldn't fill a room. And it has nothing to do with Covid. That was last summer BTW. There is no way in Halifax that Joe got more votes than Obama, let alone Trump. I don't who believes it or doesn't. Sanders was the one to win, and they paid him off, again. Then all of a sudden you saw the shift, don't go after Joe, he's the winner. Shoot his own VP called him a racist. And she's dumber than a box of hair. I don't even know what we are paying her for, sure isn't for the job she isn't doing. Biden ran 3x and this time he gets more votes than the first black president? lol Tell that to a dead horse and he'd get up and kick ya to death. smh

lol, not me,,,it seems just like yesterday when Fox had a news anchor that was crawling all over the ground during a firefight at Tora Bora dodging incoming fire and then we found out he was actually several hundred miles away at a different mountain... Anyway no more sly as a FOX news for me... https://www.washingtonpost.com/arch...-battle/61419e64-b2de-4df3-be2d-a80930e462c4/

I wish I could read the entire deposition but, alas, Fox Corporation has sued to keep it under wraps.

Aside from the inner workings of the network (aka proprietary information) do you think the public has a right to know to what extent the staff at Fox promoted information that they knew wasn't true?

It's important to examine Fox vs the others mentioned: Fox claims to represent conservative/patriotic Christian values. The other sites mentioned make no bones about their disdain for God, Christians, conservatives, etc. We should not expect the truth from them except for the "truth" they believe.
One can claim to be Christian all they want. If the fruit doesn't back the claim, it's a false claim.

Not with Tucker Carlson or some of the others they have on the station.

Sorry, the American Left is now a fascist movement. I used to periodically give CNN & MSNBC a listen. No more. Things have gone way off the deep end now. At least on FNC I don't hear people calling free speech "white supremacist".

I'll stick with the Kirks, Shapiros, Prager and Carlsons. Sometimes Gutfeld. You guys can go on thinking they're all equally bad, as some of you do. I can't help that.
It astounds me the level to which conservatives will charge the other side with the very things the conservatives are doing. You pretty much know what they are guilty of by what they are accusing others of.

The left deceives the world.

The right deceives believers.

NEITHER DECEPTION IS OF GOD.

Bro... perfectly said.

I was thinking this, but I am hating these idiotic conversations on this site with Christians who really need to be better-engaged in the culture war, that I decided against chiming in about this "widespread" nonsense. But, it looks like I didn't have to.
Bzzzzzzzzzz wrong.

Christians ought to better engaged with scripture. Then and only then will they see that they are being lied to by both sides.

Forgive me. The light of thy wisdom in these forums hurts my eyes, and you know what they say about darkness hating light. I cannot stand in thy presence.... And that buzzer! Oh man... my ears, too!

It is imperative to know what's going on around you. You pick people you feel you can trust, as I have, and listen to their reportage. Pray for discernment. But, Christians staying out of it is one of the reasons Germany fell to dictators.

Anyway, no use in wasting my breath on the deaf...

What's one of the signs? Love growing cold. Your posts show a coldness that is the antithesis of loving. But you can't see it. See, that's one of the problems with deception, you don't know you're being deceived.

When you learn how to address those with differing opinions in love instead of snarkiness, then I'll listen to you. In the meantime I'm praying for you and all who are falling for the lies of both sides.

Don't listen to any one/source that lies to you for their benefit.

Now that Fox News can be seen for what it is, no one who values the truth should pay it any mind.

This is a topic that probably concerns a lot of people, so here is some analysis:

1.) Most corporations, of all varieties, will, and do, lie to you for their own benefit.

2.) It is naive for anyone to think a news corporation, of any stripe, has risen above this... it is just a business.

3.) Anyone with any sense of history, or business, should understand that Fox was never created to be a purveyor of "truth"; it was merely created to purvey a different information "product" to a different "market sector."

(This also happens on the other side of the political aisle. Many progressive websites were not created by progressives, they were created by ordinary business people who saw a niche in the market, and wanted to capitalize on that for a quick buck... now many of those websites are failing.)

4.) Although I'm very conservative, I don't listen to, or trust, Sean Hannity... I haven't listened to him in a long time.

Being conservative doesn't mean I have to listen to some particular person.

5.) Although I'm very conservative, I don't watch Fox News... I haven't watched them for a long time.

Being conservative doesn't mean I have to listen to some particular news network.

6.) However... the fact that all corporations are prone to lying to their customers for profit, does NOT mean all corporations are equal. Some have better or worse products, and some lie to lesser or greater degrees. This is also part of reality, and part of life.

Example:
If I catch Fox news lying about something, but the network stance on abortion is still pro-life... well... that is still a good thing, and it is still better than the antithesis. When two people, or two corporations, are imperfect... that does not mean they are therefore equal.

7.) Logic Problems To Consider - What can we logically conclude from a lie?
a.)
It would be a logic problem to assume that because SOMEONE from a corporation has lied, that EVERYONE from that corporation has lied.
b.) It would also be a logic problem to assume that because a person lied about one thing, they have also lied about everything.
c.) It would also be a problem to assume that because a corporation, in some general sense, has lied about one thing, they have also lied about everything.
d.) And just to cap things off, it would be a logic problem to assume that because a corporation has lied, that some competing corporation is lying less, and should automatically be trusted.
e.) I'm not a fan of Fox, but this is still how the logic works.

* Lies might cause us to quite reasonably lose trust, or reevaluate things... but this is still how the logic works: a lie about one thing does not logically indicate lies about all things. But when we catch people lying, it is certainly time to reevaluate our level of trust.

8.) In all things, we should try to look at the facts, and not bury our heads in the sand... but we should also not push those facts further than they logically go.

9.) CONCLUSION:
a.)
This issue will be massively politicized, and propagandized, far beyond anything logical or rational... so I thought it important to give it some analysis.
b.) We should try to look at all things logically and rationally... both the good and the bad.
c.) That being said, I don't personally watch Fox News. They've always been prone, as any business, to sometimes put money ahead of truth-telling, and the past few years they've been under different management, which seems to have accelerated a shift into some strange directions.
d.) However, I do feel they genuinely cover different stories, and different angles, that other networks ignore, or even "black out."
e.) If you're going to listen to mainstream news, Fox is a place that will give a different perspective, with different stories, and different angles, which the more progressive media will simply ignore.
f.) I believe that watching Fox for a different perspective is far better than a one-sided diet of progressive news, and progressive propagandizing... but personally, I don't get my news from Fox.

.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.
And remember... sometimes it's good to just turn off the news for a while.
: )

For all those who think Fox News is as as bad as the rest of the main stream media, here's what I have to say. You all have serious discernment issues and if you can't see the difference then God help you.
Is Fox News 100% accurate? Absolutely not, nobody is. But compared to the near constance lies spewed by the rest of the MSM there's a huge difference that's as plain as the nose on anyone's face.

You're falling into the trap.

You would posit that because someone is against sexual immorality and abortion, it is ok to look the other way when they worship mammon, engage in self-idolatry, abandon the poor/sick/foreigner, cheat workers, and engage in lies and hypocrisy... none of which are Christian morals.

There is no such thing as a lesser evil. All evil is just that, evil.

I realllly wish you'd stop making blanket nonsense statements. YOU are falling into the trap of lumping everyone together. Now you're the one engaged in hypocrisy.
