It is God's loving desire that ALL should be saved, however, it is the freewill choice of the individual that can either accept of reject this loving desire of The Trinity! 1Tim 2v4, 2Peter 3v9, Matt 23v37, 2Chron 36v15,16, Ezek 18v30-32, Matt 12v41.

Who is to be Saved?
I see this and wonder if maybe this is representative of the way God always saves His people. i.e .Jesus (God) always the same as here>>>>Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Psalm 106
7Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked [him] at the sea, [even] at the Red sea.

8Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

Otherwise … Calvinism is true.

Christ-God chose Judas, yet Judas was lost.
((John 15:16, John 17:12))

Christ-God's will cannot be opposed or undone
((Daniel 4:35))

how does that work?

God's will always comes to pass. But God can perform it directly or within the choices of mankind or some combination of the two.

Does Christ Choose
Who is to be Saved?
Christ is a Title not a name ----Greek and Hebrew word for Christ means anointed ------so No Christ Does not choose who is saved ==

1670705130436.png

Jesus------- The Christ -----The Son of God -----brought about Salvation for all the World through the shedding of His precious Blood ----but Jesus doesn't choose who is saved ------

The Father fist has to draw the person to open their heart and ears to hear the Word which inbirths the right Faith in the person to even begin to be Saved ----

So what does this word Draw mean =====

The Greek word for Draw
Lexicon
helkó: to drag
Definition: I drag, draw, pull, persuade, unsheathe.

HELPS word-Studies
1670 helkýō – properly, induce (draw in), focusing on the attraction-power involved with the drawing.

Once God the Father has opened the heart and ears to hear ---and the right faith is imparted to the person through hearing the Word ------then ---the person makes their own choice to choose or reject being saved ----

The scripture tells us specifically what is required of us to be saved -----and believe it or not there are stipulations applied to us getting saved ------God's Covenants were Conditional ------

Romans 10:9----below

Notice 1---the IF YOU -acknowledge ----Stipulation here ---

Notice 2---if you----- confess with your lips ------stipulation here -----you have to confess out loud your Faith -that Jesus is Lord ----

Notice 3---if you -----believe in your heart that Jesus was raised from the dead -------stipulation here

Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, .you will be saved

This little word if ---is conditional

Strong's Concordance
ean: if
Conditional Particle Or Conjunction

HELPS Word-studies
1437 eán (a conjunction, a particle showing a statement is conditional)if, referring to a condition extending to its "spin-off" possibilities – i.e. that happen if the condition is actualized or is valid.

So many people say and think that God's Covenants are unconditional and that is False Doctrine -----the Mosaic Covenant was also Conditional -----If you obey my Laws ---If you Don't -----
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We Choose our own destiny -----eternal life or eternal damnation

what does it mean that God chose Judas ((John 6:70)) and Judas was "lost" ((John 17:12))?

can God "lose" anything?
did God choose to lose Judas?
does Judas have will?
does Satan?
does God?

who determines Judas's will, if he has will?
& God's will?
& Satan's will?

does it even matter if Judas has will?

Acts 2:23 is a good example of what I was referring to. It was God's determination that Jesus would be delivered up but also it was done by people of their own free will.
I don't think it's a stretch to apply the same principle to Judas.

Judas was chosen to do just what he did . Just as Pharaoh was chosen to do what he did.
Rom 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
Rom 9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
Rom 9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
Rom 9:19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
Rom 9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Rom 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
Rom 9:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
Rom 9:24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
Rom 9:25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
Rom 9:26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

Chosen to be part of the mission He had with the disciples.. but Judas didn't believe in Jesus.

Another question is how could Judas be chosen... and by that meaning eternally saved and then be posessed by Satan?

I think the answer is he wasn't chosen as in saved eternally. Chosen as in given the chance to be saved.. but He didn't take it.

Chosen for service, not salvation. Addressed to the apostles primarily, but also to Christians.

Who is to be Saved?
Gods Will is that no one perishes but all are saved

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭KJV‬

but it depends on the bottom line of repentance really if we won’t stop serving sin we’re going to perish or as Paul puts it

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;

whether of sin unto death,

or of obedience unto righteousness?

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. ( Paul has just explained in detail about what baptism means to us who have been baptized )

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

…But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:16-18, 21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

many in the world won’t repent and believe the gospel because of this basic situation the world was condemned in tbe Old Testament and now

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

( this is why )And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God gave everyone a chance to be saved the same chance same choice but not everyone will repent and believe the gospel and be saved

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God spoke the gospel to the world freely anyone can be saved from the rejection of him by the world which brings wrath and damnation though he came to save them all many won’t have it they want to rule thier own short life instead

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Anyone who believes will be saved because they will follow what they believe

Amen , He knows already who will choose

his foreknowledge doesn’t change our choice
Christ chose to die for our sins, but it is up to us humans to accept Jesus into our hearts. :) It is a two-way street that we must act on.

He knows who are His. Everything begins with foreknowledge in theology.
How mistaken they were.

Everything that the Christ ever did was based on His eternal love for His creation.

How mistaken they were.
