I got to thinking. I've always wanted a nice house, new car and financial independent. I don't need to be rich, but would like more than enough to get by. I want to retire. I started thinking, if I had these things would I be out handing drinks and food to the homeless on the corners? I wonder if I'm not in the place I desire to be because GOD wanted me doing this?
I think God certainly wants us all to be giving to the Poor ------you seem to have enough to look after yourself and be able to give what you can to the homeless man in what you have ---
If you didn't have enough to look after your own needs how could you afford to give anything to the homeless man -----? ---you would have to give up some of your needs to be able to give to the homeless and would God want that ?------
I don't think God wants us to be in lack of anything ----I think God wants to bless us to have enough for ourselves so that we can give to the poor ------
Here is the thing with God -----God will only bless you what He feels you can handle---- as far as Finances go -----
Our Motive in Giving plays a great part in God's eyes -------Our attitude in Giving plays a great part as well ----also we have to trust God that He will do as He promises with our Giving ------there is protocol for giving so God can Bless you ------We have to prove to God that He can trust us will little before He will give us much --------
This is a command -----about our Giving -----so we see we are to give in secret -------no big announcements ----
But when you give to the needy,
do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your
giving may be in secret.
Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:3-4
Remember this: Whoever
sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and
whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
2 Corinthians 9:6
I say -----We see here what we sow is what we get back -----
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7
I say ----we are not to give reluctantly or under compulsion -------some people give because they feel they have to -----and they think this will get them in God's graces -----
God wants to Bless us so we have enough for ourselves and enough to look out for the poor ------
Many people get into a frenzy when the Blessing is mentioned ---as they believe Christians don't need to be Blessed with material or Financial needs but that is not how God works -----
When God Blesses us with finances ---the Blessing is not for us --it is for giving out to Bless others -------
An example -----you have a job in that job you get a promotion ---that is God Blessing you ----and in that promotion you get more money ---you already make a good wage and have been living comfortably with what you were making ----- so the extra Blessing God Bestowed on you is not for you ---it is to bless someone else ------
You are Blessed by God to be A Blessing to another ------and what you sow to the other God promises to give back to you so you can keep being a Blessing to others -----
Believe ---trust and act upon these scriptures and you will always have enough for your Family and enough to Bless others -----
Proverbs 11:25-----Amplified Bible
25
The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched,
And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown].
Luke 6:38------Amplified Bible
38
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”
NOTE HERE ____IT SAYS--------- IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU-----this is a Promise Folks -----
2 Corinthians 9 AMP
8
And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.
9 As it is written
and forever remains written,
“He [the benevolent and generous person] scattered abroad, he gave to the poor,
His righteousness endures forever!”
10
Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing [that is, your resources] and increase the harvest of your righteousness [which shows itself in active goodness, kindness, and love].
11
You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous, and this [generosity, administered] through us is producing thanksgiving to God [from those who benefit].
I say --God will provide what we need both Physically and materially and Bless us to be a Blessing to others ------
The Blessings you read in Deuteronomy 28 apply to us who are in Christ today -------Jesus defeated the Curses and brought back the Blessings for those who receive Him in their Hearts ----

Number 8 -----says ----
8 The Lord will send a blessing on your barns
and on everything you put your hand to.
The blessing means you will succeed in all you do -----your marriage will succeed ---your job will be prosperous and anything you put your hands to will blessed ----you will always have enough for yourself and to help others ----
It is God who provided wealth to His True people -------
We are to keep our lives free from the LOVE of Money which is the root of all evil and be content with what God has given us as He knows what we need and can handle ----Spiritually ---- Materially ---and Financially -----
If we can't do the right thing with God's little like a 100 dollars ---why would God give us much like 1,000 dollars -----
we are not to bury or hoard our money --we are to use it to advance God's Kingdom --
