Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:18

Some folks believe Jews are saved because they’re Jews. I don’t see how an unbeliever has salvation.

Regardless of race or ethnicity, there is no name under heaven by which someone can be saved except Jesus Christ. One may also say Yeshua. Specifically this is Yeshua of Nazareth, God’s Son.

A couple of things...

First of all, take that Bible (mis-) translation and throw it in the garbage where it belongs.

Jesus is NOT "God's one and only Son".

In scripture, Christians are called "sons of God":

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not." (I John 3:1)

Similarly, in scripture, angels are called "sons of God":

"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them." (Job 1:6)

Far from being "God's one and only Son", in reality, Jesus is "the only begotten Son of God", and he was "begotten" on the day in which he was raised from the dead.

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18)

Acts chapter 13

[26] Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
[27] For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
[28] And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
[29] And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
[30] But God raised him from the dead:
[31] And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
[32] And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
[33] God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

It was when Christ was "begotten" and had ascended back to the Father in heaven that he "received by inheritance a more excellent name than they", with the "they" being angels, and when he was "made heir of all things".

Hebrews chapter 1

[1] God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
[2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
[3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
[4] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
[5] For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

It is also when Christ was "begotten" that the priesthood changed:

Hebrews chapter 5

[1] For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
[2] Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
[3] And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
[4] And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
[5] So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

It is our belief in the exalted name of Jesus which he received after her was "begotten" or raised from the dead that saves us.

Second of all, and to your point, no Jew or Gentile can be saved without such saving faith in the exalted name of Jesus which he received after he was "begotten" or raised from the dead.

Romans chapter 2

[28] For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
[29] But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

What did the Jews do that was not predetermined that they would do?

If they had not rebelled and given Him up to be crucified YOU could not have been saved. Salvation is of the Jews.

God will once again turn the hearts of His ancient people back to Himself in His own time. Once the full number of us Gentiles are in.

God is already turned back to the Jews but they are not yet turned back to Him.

It would be more helpful to just point out that indeed the NLT translation falls short at this verse by not indicating that Jesus is the only "begotten" son. I like the NLT and use it for the easily understandable presentation. I am quite certain that many who profess "Christianity" use the KJV or other versions and yet are not 'true believers'. My opinion is that if the U.S.A. had as many 'true believers' as the 'Christian' professors claim they evangelize we probably wouldn't see as much 'dysfunction'. ??!!??!! Is it the translation or something other?

You are correct about Jesus being "the only begotten Son of God"; however, you are incorrect about the meaning of it.

The word 'begotten' in all of those verses is indeed actually referring to His birth - being "born into the human race" - the 'man' side of the 'God-man'.

You are not interpreting them properly.

John 3:

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

In verse 16 - 'begotten' is talking about Bethlehem - 'gave' is talking about Calvary.

In verse 17 - the "sense" of the phrase 'sent not his Son' is not saying that Jesus was [already] His Son in heaven - then, 'sent' to earth to become the Messiah. It is talking about God 'sending' His Son in a post-event sense - after it has already occurred - the 'sonship' of Jesus already having been established in the context of the passage.

The 'sonship' of Jesus was established (in the historical 'event' sense) at His birth. (but actually, at His conception by the Holy Spirit)

He was the Son of God from the moment He was born into the human race - long before His resurrection.

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:18

Some folks believe Jews are saved because they’re Jews. I don’t see how an unbeliever has salvation.
The nation state or ethnicity has nothing to do with it. Reading the Bible gives much evidence.
Jesus said he could raise up children to Abraham from the rocks, Paul says not all of Israel is Israel and explains the seed of Abraham is Jesus. In the book of the Revelation chapter 2 and in chapter 3
Read what Jesus says
“I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
Revelation 2:9 NKJV

Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.
Revelation 3:9 NKJV

notice he uses the word synagogue. Because He is referring to the people who rejected Him. But think they worship God. But they persecute the ones who follow Jesus. Christians are the the children of God, and it has nothing to do with ethnicity or heritage or even a nation state. Jews are and have always been those who believe God and walk in faith. Some years after Jesus destroyed the temple and the veil to the Holy place ripped in half, God had heathens and pagans dismantle the shell of it leaving not one stone standing upon another as Jesus prophecies. And those pagans scattered the nation of people into the world, where their heritage and blood line also became diluted so that there is no pure ethnic Abrahamites. There is only those with faith and those without faith.
As Jesus also said, that His kingdom is not of this world.

I disagree with your answer....heres why..
Jesus is referred to as the second adam. Adam was made from the dust of the earth. Molded and shaped by the hand of God. All other men from that point came from the womb of a women from the seed of man.

Jesus was born of a virgin not from the seed of man but by the Holy Spirit....both are exclusive.
Adam was created but Jesus always was in fact JESUS created adam but JESUS was not created but always was therefore Jesus is unique in all of creation being not created but clothed in flesh and bone.

Jesus is the only begotten son of the father..one of a kind...the only one.

You are in total error in relation to how the word "begotten" pertains to Jesus Christ.

I've already provided ample evidence of the same, but I'll provide more when I have the time to do so.

Mary conceived Jesus through a miracle by the Holy Spirit of God. He wasn’t born of man, but literally born of God.

No one else has been conceived this way according to the Bible, thus in this sense Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. I hope you agree because I’ve been seeing people deny this more as of late.

Jesus was truly conceived in the manner that you just described, but that has nothing to do with him being the only begotten Son of God.

I'll try to start a blog on this topic tomorrow.

Still at work...

What and who are these verses referring to? Acts15:13 ¶ And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me: 14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. 15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, 16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: 17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
Not the postles because in their day the tabernacle of David was not builded again nor the ruins thereof or set up. The gospel cannot be compared to ruins builded up again.
