No, not troll specifically. I was thinking of somebody I know who claims to identify as something she is not. But the definition of what that something is has long been a topic of contention on the internet-at-large, so she can weasel her way into defining herself as this anyway.

Oh never mind. Hush Lynx. =^.^=
Hopefully, when people see me giving negative emojis (this one was the closest there is to rolling one's eyes!) :D, they'll know I'm just joking.

In general, I save all my negative emojis for my friends!

C'mon now, Cat. Give credit where credit is due.

IS THAT NOT TROLLISH BEHAVIOR OR WHAT?!? :devilish::geek::alien:

Something dull and boring, because that's what trolls are.
But, but...

Goji just stepped on my big hairy trollish feet AND hurt my itty bitty troll feelings all at the same time.

(Do they have online therapy for trolls?)

And maybe even support groups... Run by dwarves.

*Big Grin!*

I totally get that you were joking, Goji! :D I was trying to joke right along back at you. :)

I greatly appreciate your explanation though!

You know, it's just one of those things -- what the masses intend as put-downs or insults, sometimes it's fun to take up those things as badges of honor instead, no?

Over the years, I have learned thoroughly embrace a lot of labels that are meant as negatives, especially when the other person (NOT you, but ACTUAL trolls) is projecting THEIR OWN behavior onto others and can't seem to recognize it in themselves.

I mean, what's more deliciously ironic... than being called a troll by a REAL troll?

I also get a big kick out of people who weaponize their Ignore list. Now, I'm certainly not saying that the Ignore function isn't a good thing or that it doesn't have good use, but what I mean is, when trolls tell me, "I'M PUTTING YOU ON IGNORE!!"

I always have a picture in my head of them cradling their Ignore list like this:

People like that don't seem to realize -- being put on their Ignore list is actually a badge of honor.

And even more ironic than that, guess who often then answers my next thread the fastest!

Why, the ones who said they've put me on "Ignore" of course!

As Inigo Montoya would say, "I don't think that word means what YOU think it means." :D

Depends on the "us". You, I can bear with. In fact, more than bear with. Genuinely enjoy in fact. Others here ... present challenges, shall I say, to my Christian walk, as we have swine masquerading as on-fire Christians. But, there are enough decent folks here.

The interesting thing about EVERY gathering of believers is that EVERY individual will have differing opinions as to who the swine are. And since we can't look into one another's hearts or know what's really going on like God can, it gets really tricky.

I know there is always the passage about believers producing fruit, but then every individual will also have a differing opinion about what that fruit should be and what it looks like. I have met a lot of Christians who felt that if you didn't have a passion for what they did in the exact manner they were doing it (preaching, evangelizing, etc. according to THEIR specifications) then you surely weren't a real Christian.

I know that for many here, past, present, and I'm sure in the future, I have been the swine, so...

All we can do is to keep trying to walk where God is leading us.

I would leave this site if I felt that's what God was calling me to do, but it might be one of those (many) areas in which I'm too stubborn for my own good. :geek:

Swine to me is someone who frequently criticizes, but never owns up to their own faults. Swine would include those who instigate. Swine would include those who cheat, or abuse their kids. Those who are unrepentantly creepy or destructive.

Sometimes it's relative, sometimes it's absolute, sometimes it's a mixture. I know, I'm Capt. Obvious here, but it's the truth.

I've argued with some here, but I don't think they're swine. I've argued with a couple here whom I might lump under that heading. I try to be objective about this stuff, and not subjective, but admittedly that's impossible to get right all the time. My sinful human pride is just too potent an influence in this fallen flesh.

And Seoul, you're not swine, not even close. If you are, you're a clean, well-groomed pig who lives in the house :)

And the most frustrating thing I've found about such people...

Is that God often puts them in our lives -- to point something out to us about our own selves.

Well... At least, that's what He often does with me, I can't say anything about anyone else.

I had a guy here not long ago say, "You are a sinner!" but in much more unflattering terms. Believe me, my temper flared to an almost 10 (only one person has seen me close to that, at about a 9.5, and that was in a chat she and I used to be part of,) but you know what God did?

He pretty much stopped me and said, "But Seoul, what he's saying is the truth, so how can you argue with that?"

Meaning, He wanted me to acknowledge my sinful nature, the fact that I do indeed still sin, and my ever-present need for Him.

NONE of me wanted to admit this at the time (simply due to the way it was presented, and whom it was presented through,) and that person was eventually banned...

But at that moment, I knew that person had crossed my path with his for a reason (or at the very least, He had used that crossing for His own purpose.)

I'm certainly not saying this is the case for everyone, but I guess that's how I've come to see the conflict I run into here and it's one of the many ways God seems to choose to confront me.

That's called pride. God got through it :) The way it was delivered pissed you off (and maybe justifiably so?), but the thing itself should not have. I get it. I think I've been starting to think along those terms too, though I'm probably not as far along as you.

I've learned that life is better without sinful pride. No, I got plenty of it, but God has begun to chip away some of it. And, it feels good. It leaves peace behind, not this adrenalized need to defend myself. Unfortunately what remains still wants to fight. I can't wait till its last cell is burned.

But, also know that some people out there are just plain bad, and their only purpose in your life is to be a puppet of the enemy.

That's why I'm here.
To think about perfuming mud?

Do you regularly hose down your lair with Axe Body Spray when returning home from gulping down (yet another) large, unsuspecting city?
