The same truth concerning the Lord Jesus Christ having taken on Himself the likeness of men is stated in Phil 2:

Philippians 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men

The difference between what is written in Heb 2 and what is written in Phil 2 is the audience to whom the letters were written.

Hebrews was written to Jewish believers (physical descendants of Abraham) ... Philippians was written to gentile believers.
Its the same, Christ came and Identified with and to save, the seed of Abraham, not all mankind Heb 2:14-16
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

This is limited particular atonement for the seed of Abraham ! Ps 105:6

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

Again Jesus relates His Salvation to the seed or children of Abraham here Lk 19:9-10
Luke 19:

9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

newsflash for you brightfame52 ... all descendants of Adam (not just descendants of Abraham) were "lost" when Adam and Eve fell.

The Lord Jesus Christ called Himself a son of Abraham because Abraham appears in the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thats was a prime proof that its only the seed or children of Abraham Jesus came to seek and to save, not all mankind.

The whole world of 1 Jn 2:2 is Justified, so you know it cant be all without exception.
Justified? Really? Is that what is written in the text?

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

The word "justified" is translated from the Greek word dikaioō. If the Bible you read has the word "justified" (Greek dikaioō), you should toss it because the word dikaioō does not appear in the text.
Yes, the whole world in 1 Jn 2:2 has Jesus as its propitiation, so therfore its a Justified, saved world, its the world of the seed of Abraham Heb 2:16-17

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

That word reconciliation is the same word for propitiate, so that world is a reconciled world ! Justified !

BTW the word Justified literally doesnt have to appear in the text, because Justification is the fruit of propitiation, which I have shown you before Lk 18:13-14

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful[propitious] to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Jesus being our proptiation with God, equals being Justified !

newsflash for you brightfame52 ... all descendants of Adam (not just descendants of Abraham) were "lost" when Adam and Eve fell.
Only the seed of Abraham did God have a regard to, the rest were reprobated and would be vessels of wrath fitted for destruction. Jesus only had regard to the seed of Abraham, again Heb 2:16

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

He was only concerned for the particular seed !

You teach faith as a condition man performs to get Justified, thats works all day.
nope ... I read Scripture just as the Author wrote it:
You may have read it that way, but you teach against what you read, nowhere does scripture condition salvation/justification on faith, especially the faith of a spiritual dead sinner.

Scripture doesnt support your man made views !

The "law" to which the Lord Jesus Christ referred in Matt 23:23 was the law of Moses.
Which was still the moral law from creation. Where do you think the Law of moses got the sabbath day Law ? Gen 2:1-3

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Ex 20:8-11

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Plus Faith in God is the same as Love to God, which is an obligation every creature should do by nature, should not Adam and Eve Loved God with all their heart, mind and soul and strength ? Jesus said that was the greatest commandment, and you dont believe it was in force at Creation ?

So yeah, you put yourself under the law with your faith conditions. You better keep every last commandment perfectly if you expect to see heaven.

Then you finally agree fath ≠ works.
I have always agreed with scripture, but not with you, who conditions salvation on your works, on keeping the law.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
The word "justified" is translated from the Greek word dikaioō. Please show me where the word dikaioō appears in the verse
You not telling me nothing new or what I didnt already know, however you still selling the death of Christ short, teaching that people He died for, and satisfied the Justice of God for, still are lost in their sins. Thats a shame !

Justification is the result of imputation !

Justification is the result of imputation, meaning that all for whom Christ died, since their sins had been charged /imputed to Him, or as The Prophet writes Isa 53:6

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has made to light upon Him the guilt and iniquity of us all. AMP

And as a result that is their Justification before God; However the result or fruit of that Justification is New Birth, Regeneration, or Quickening, to be Made Alive by the Spirit, which is an application/communication of that Resurrected Life we have in our Head, Christ making us alive based upon the Justification we have through His Blood, for Life is in the Blood, so Life is communicated to them on the basis of His Blood and Righteousness, which satisfied Law and Justice ! 13

What the verse does not state is that a person is "born of God before they believe", which is what you claimed in your Post #2129.

As FreeGrace2 pointed out in Post #2165:
1 Jn 5:1 clearly doesn't say what he claims. It says those who are now believing have been born again. That's all.

It says nothing about the order of belief and regeneration.
Thats exactly what it is saying, just not in the way you suggest. But the verse is saying that the one believing has been born of God. Believing is the effect of having been born of God.

The same thing with Jn 1:12-13 Those who believe on the Name of Jesus, do so because they had been born of God !

got it ... you can provide nothing to support your claim.
Except the things you yourself post. You insist that people Christ died for wind up in hell for the very sins He died for, which if true, makes His saving death worthless to save. What makes the difference between saved and lost ? You certainly cant say Christs death. But I can, since who Christ died for shall be saved from their sins and become a believer in Him.

You can provide no post submitted by me which proves up your accusation and you will not find any post submitted by me which corroborates your claim.

So again, those words came directly from your keyboard ... you are the only one who has made that blasphemous statement in this thread.
Do you believe a sinner Christ died for can die in their sins in unbelief ? Yes or No ?

Justification is the result of imputation !2

The death of Christ for all the seed of Abraham, his Spiritual Seed chosen in Christ before the foundation, results in their Legal Justification, as well and it will be followed by Justification experimentally, what Paul means here 1 Cor 6:11

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Justification experimentally or Sanctification of the Spirit follows and is the fruit of Justification Legally by the blood of Christ !

In our above verse Legally we are washed from our sins Rev 1:5; Heb 1:3 also that is Justification in the name of the Lord,

And Sanctified, and by the Spirit of our God is the experimental aspect.

And there is yet another aspect that we shall experience in the future which is Glorification, all of which is the fruit of Christ's death !

Provide the posts, brightfame52.

Prove up your claim that I have ever stated "Christs death was worthless".

The only person on this thread who has made such a blasphemous statement is you ... so that lie can be laid at your keyboard.
Whenever you claim that people Christ died for wind up in hell for their sins, that equates to saying Christs death was worthless
 got it ... you can provide nothing to support your claim.

your accusation goes right up there with your claim that God' Word tells us "those He died for do not have to believe it, accept itor do anything but continue being ungodly sinners"

brightfame52 aka accuser of the brethren is an apt title for you.

The only person on this thread who has made such a blasphemous statement is you ... so that lie can be laid at your keyboard.
Oh really, please provide that statement !
here is your accusation ... Post #2074:

You saying Christs death was worthless.

You provide no post submitted by me which proves up your accusation and you will not find any post submitted by me which corroborates your claim.

So again, those words came directly from your keyboard ... you are the only one who has made that blasphemous statement in this thread.

brightfame52, I do not know how you are submitting your posts, but you are not capturing statements properly.

In your Post #2197, you submitted the following:

it doesnt matter who hides it, its hid ! So while in a lost state, the Gospel is hidden to a person, so they cannot possibly believe it.

yes, it does matter who tries to hide it.
it appears that you are responding to something I posted. However, you have combined a statement you made with my reply to you.

You said:

it doesnt matter who hides it, its hid ! So while in a lost state, the Gospel is hidden to a person, so they cannot possibly believe it.

I replied:

yes, it does matter who tries to hide it.

When you combine your statement with my statement, it appears that I submitted both statements (which I didn't).

I replied to your Post #2216 where you did the same thing.

However, I am no longer going to respond to posts you submit like that. I will point out that you have botched your response, but I'm not going to take the time to figure out who said what.

You need to take the time to learn how to submit posts so that it is clear as to who said what.

As long as you continue to teach that it is God Who hides the gospel, you are preaching the lie of satan as it is satan who will stop at nothing to keep the gospel hid.
God does hide the Gospel Matt 11:25-26
Matt 11:25-26 does not state that "God hides the Gospel". The Lord Jesus Christ does not specify what had been hidden. However, the verses just prior to vs 25 clearly state that the wise and the prudent had rejected the truth ... not because they were incapable of believing, but because they did not repent:

Matthew 11:

20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

What is written in Matt 11:20-25 corroborates what is written in Rom 1 where truth is revealed and those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness reject the truth.

Read Romans 1:18 - 32 to see what happens as people continue to reject God.

This section of Scripture tells us exactly what occurs in those who do not believe. It's not that they can't believe. It's that the unbeliever rejects the truth of God's Word when it is shared with them and the believer does not reject the truth when someone shares God's Word with them.

Romans 1:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

Rom 1:18-19 tells us that the truth is suppressed when God makes it plain to them. The word "hold" in vs 18 is the Greek word katechō and it means to suppress; hold back; restrain. When the Word of God is spoken, the person restrains the truth from reaching his/her heart. They reject the truth. They reject God.

Because they suppress the truth, they do not glorify God, their thinking becomes empty and foolish and, as a result, their foolish hearts become darkened — Rom 1:20-21.

Because the heart is darkened, they profess themselves as wise but in reality they become fools and turn to idolatry — Rom 1:22-23.

Because of this, God gives them over to uncleanness — Rom 1:24.

Because they are given over to uncleanness, they degrade their own bodies and change the truth of God into a lie. They worship creation more than the Creator — Rom 1:25.

Because of this, God gives them over to vile affections — Rom 1:26.

Because they are given over to vile affections, they commit shameful acts and receive in themselves the adequate penalty for their error — Rom 1:27.

Because they do not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gives them over to a reprobate mind — Rom 1:28.

Because they have a reprobate mind, they exhibit all of the behaviors shown in Rom 1:29-32.

Look at how long God holds on to a person before he or she is given over to a reprobate mind. First it's suppress the truth; then the foolish heart becomes darkened; then given up to uncleanness; then given up to vile affections; then reprobate mind. Each time the person is given up to the next downward step, it is because he or she has rejected God.

These are the steps that are taken over the course of many years. God holds on as long as He can, but at some point, as they move further and further away from Him, God has to let them go.

It's not like they are born with a reprobate mind to begin with ... or that they suppress the truth in unrighteousness one moment and the next moment they have a reprobate mind. There are more than several steps involved in the downward spiral to reprobate mind. And in the Greek the word reprobate means not standing the test; not approved.

And at any point, a person can allow the truth of God's Word to penetrate their heart and God will start working to bring increase to that little kernel of truth they do not restrain (faith by hearing and hearing by word of God – Rom 10:17). God brings the increase in the heart of those who do not reject Him.

That is why it is so important for us as believers (and to whom God has entrusted the ministry of reconciliation - 2 Col 5:18-20) to speak the truth of God's Word to others ... not man's wisdom. Limited atonement / replacement theology (which are teachings you hold to) are not Scriptural truth.

The true believer preaches the gospel (it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe – 1 Cor 1:21).
I am preaching the Gospel
nope ... you're teaching your limited atonement erroneous dogma. You are to align your dogma to Scripture and where your dogma does not align with Scripture, you are to let go of the error.

You hold on to your error and manipulate Scripture to align with your dogma ... shameful way to handle the Word of God.

Gal 3:22 actually reads in the KJV

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Faith of Jesus Christ
The word "of" is not in the text. The text reads:

pistis iēsous christos
faith Jesus Christ

What is clear from the text is that the promise is given to those who believe.

Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

brightfame52 said:
You are promoting salvation by works
nope ... you just continue to reject the truth that faith ≠ works.

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Clearly faith is not works. You do understand that the word "believeth" [Greek pisteuó] is the verb form of the Greek word pístis (faith), yes?
.
